I am selling my 2007 Mazda MX-5 Miata, Sport.
Its a 2-door convertible with the black soft top.
It currently has less than 48,000 miles.

I am selling because I do not drive this car anymore. It is an incredibly fun car, but I have a very long commute for work, and I sometimes have to carry things too big to fit in the trunk.

It has the 2.0L Engine with a 5-speed manual transmission.
Even if you don't have much (or any) experience with a stick shift, this car is easy. It has a light clutch and very short shifter throws. This car is so much fun to drive. Good acceleration and great handling car.

Exterior color is dark metallic blue color.
It has a black interior with power Mirrors, Windows, Locks.
A/C and Heater work great.
Other options include:
-Cruise Control
-Foglights
-Intermittent Wipers
-Upgraded Pioneer Speakers
-Rear window defrost
-Tinted windows

It has a clear "blue" title.

KBB Retail value on this car is $15,134

There are a few things on this car that are not perfect, and I will list all of them:

Tread on front tires is OK, but probably less than 50%. So those will need to be replaced or rotated in the next year or so. Rear tires are in good condition.

There is some wear-tear on the interior (average for its age):
- Steering wheel shows some wear
- Interior door handle shows light scratches
- Floormats were beginning to wear through, so I threw them away. Needs a new set to protect the carpets, which are still like new.

The exterior also has some minor blemishes:
- Faint scratches on Driver's side door/fender.
- Clear coat has chipped off in one small spot by passenger's mirror (see pictures). Paint underneath, and everywhere else on car is in very good condition otherwise.
- One parking-lot ding on driver's door.

In general, it could use a good vacuum, hand-wax, and detailing. This would really make the car shine, and would hide almost all of the blemishes mentioned above.

I have had the car inspected within the past month, and it passed with flying colors.

The car has had an alignment performed recently, and everything was straight.

Car is located in Spring, TX. And I prefer having the buyer come to pick it up locally.
I can pick up the buyer from the airport if necessary.
I don't mind shipping the car, but shipping must be arranged and paid entirely by buyer.

I will not travel more than 20 miles from 77389 in order to complete the delivery.

Mazda Hazumi concept presages next Mazda2

Fri, 21 Feb 2014

Looks like Mazda's big Geneva Motor Show debut is actually something quite small. Teased here, the Hazumi concept "points the way to the future" for the brand's subcompact offering, the Mazda2. Details are slim as of this writing, but from what we can see in the image above, the Hazumi will use the same Kodo design language found on the Mazda3, Mazda6 and CX-5. We're big fans of this styling direction, so we fully expect the concept to be quite an attractive little number.
Hazumi means "bound" or "spring up" in Japanese, with Mazda saying this nomenclature is "particularly well-suited to a small car that appears to be bursting with energy." In other words, say goodbye to the friendly faced Mazda2 we've enjoyed since it launched in the United States in 2010. Instead, prepare for something decidedly more assertive, hopefully improving upon the already-great driving dynamics of the current subcompact. If we're honest, we can't wait.
Mazda will also use the Geneva show to debut its new small-displacement, 1.5-liter Skyactiv-D diesel engine. The automaker hasn't confirmed that this new fuel-efficient powerplant will be part of the Hazumi concept package, but considering the two are debuting alongside each other, it would seem to make sense. As for whether or not this engine could come stateside when the next Mazda2 launches, we're not holding our breath for that, especially considering the company's current woes with US-spec diesel engines.

Mazda reports highest profits in its 94-year history

Fri, 25 Apr 2014

We may only be a third of the way through 2014, but for Japanese companies, March 31 marked the end of fiscal 2014, and it was a banner financial year for Mazda's global operations. The Japanese independent saw its highest global operating profits in its nearly 100-year history. Its global operating profits were up a huge 238 percent. Yes, a 238 percent increase over 2012 to 1.36 billion euros ($1.88 billion), eclipsing the brand's previous best year, 2008, by 12 percent. Net earnings, revenue and global sales volume also saw increases over the last fiscal year.
What's most impressive, though, is where Mazda saw improvement. The notoriously rough European market was rather kind to the Zoom-Zoom brand, where sales increased 25 percent to 163,000 units. That figure was bolstered by a 35-percent sales increase in Great Britain and a 20-percent jump in Germany, Europe's two largest markets. Japanese sales, meanwhile, were up a respectable 13 percent, to 244,000 units. In China, Mazda saw a 12 percent bump.
Notice we aren't talking about North American sales? That's because Mazda only saw a moderate, five-percent gain in the New World, with sales climbing to 391,000 units in the US, Canada and Mexico. This is particularly disappointing considering Mazda has launched three critically acclaimed products (CX-5, Mazda6 and most recently, Mazda3) for the North American market over the past two fiscal years. Still, it isn't a particular reason to be concerned, as IHS industry analyst Stephanie Brinley notes. "Five percent isn't terrible," Brinley told Autoblog, saying that Mazda should see a bump in 2014 as the Mazda3 picks up steam.
