For sale is beautiful black 2000 Mazda Miata that has a Fast Forward Supercharger kit installed. It has 97.5k miles on the body, 2k! on the rebuilt "built" engine AC, PS, Torson LSD, new Yokohama tires, new OEM brakes (they are the best), slotted rotors, new spark plugs. Fresh oil change and filter! Clean CARFAX. NO CEL's!!!

The Drivetrain
This car has a fresh engine rebuild with upgraded CP Forged pistons & Forged Eagle H rods held down by ARP head studs. The car threw a rod bearing and I had it rebuilt. A very expensive process but the engine is now built to take on a lot of horsepower if you desire. I have receipts for the work. The Fast Forward Supercharger brings horsepower to around 190 from 130 (stock). You could certainly go higher. All of this is flowing through a new Cold Air Intake setup that is now sold by Fast Forward Superchargers.
The transmission has a ACT Stage 1 clutch kit to handle the added horsepower, a new stock flywheel and new master and slave clutch cylinders. Torson Limited Slip Differential. This car also has a MazdaSpeed muffler which gives it a nice growl and an aluminum radiator to keep it running cool.

The Suspension & Wheels
The car has new stock shocks all around with Tein S.Tech lowering springs. The car sits around an inch lower than stock. MazdaSpeed sway bars in the front and back. The car has BBS RX 214 rims w/NEW Yokohama S.Drive tires and NEW OEM brakes w/slotted rotors.

The Exterior & Interior
The paint is in great shape except for the front bumper area where there is some cracking. This car is fitted with Boss Frog Standard Double Hoop roll bars with the added padding, vinyl covers and seat belt adaptors. This also makes the car "track ready" This seats are also fitted with the Katzkin Italian leather. This is a HUGE improvement in comfort over stock. There is a hole in the drivers seat at the usual wear spot. The soft top is a little faded and has a small hole that I temporarily fixed. It could be fixed with something more permanent. It does not leak.

Other mods
The car has a vacuum/boost gauge on the drivers pillar and a NGK digital Air Fuel Ratio monitor in the dash. The stereo has an Eclipse head unit with upgraded door speakers. There is wiring to the trunk to hook up a Bazooka sub. This car also has MazdaSpeed pedals, aftermarket shift knob, BMW M style fender vents with reflectors, chrome vent surrounds,

Why am I selling?
I bought this car and had to rebuild the engine. It cost me a lot of money. Most people don't rebuild the engine, they just find a used one somewhere. I rebuilt it in hopes that it never has to be rebuilt again! I also spent a lot of time touching up the car and trying to make it as nice as it can be. It pains me to sell it because I've worked so hard to make it nice but I need to free up some cash. This car would be fun for an enthusiast, as a track car or someone who wants to make their commute a little more interesting.

She's beautiful and a blast to drive!  Please feel free to ask any questions.  Thanks!

Consumer Reports says infotainment systems 'growing first-year reliability plague'

    Mon, 27 Oct 2014

The Consumer Reports Annual Auto Reliability Survey (right) is out, and the top two spots look much the same as last year's list with Lexus and Toyota in first and second place, respectively. However, there are some major shakeups for 2014, with Acura plunging eight spots from third in 2013 to 11th this year, and Mazda replaces it on the lowest step of the podium. Honda and Audi round out the top five. This year's list includes six Japanese brands in the top 10, two Europeans, one America and one Korean.
Acura isn't the only one taking a tumble, though. Infiniti is the biggest loser this year by dropping 14 spots to 20th place. Other big losses come from Mercedes-Benz with an 11-place fall to 24th, and GMC, which declines 10 positions to 19th.
Perhaps unsurprisingly, it's not traditional mechanical bugs hauling down these automaker's reliability scores. Instead, pesky problems with infotainment systems are taking a series toll on the rankings. According to Consumer Reports, complaints about "in-car electronics" were the most grumbled about element in new cars. Problem areas included things like unresponsive touchscreens, issues pairing phones and multi-use controllers that refused to work right.

Miata is always the answer, but not always the best one

    Mon, Jan 30 2017

The Mazda MX-5 Miata is a surprisingly versatile car. Not only is it hilariously fun on back roads and closed courses, it can also be a decent daily driver thanks to its solid gas mileage and usable trunk. But, it doesn't excel in every driving situation. Specifically long trips at high speeds, and those involving canine companions. This weekend, I did a roughly 500-mile round trip to my parents' home in Indiana to pick up my recently adopted dog. The trip was 90-percent highways, and I heard every single mile. Our MX-5 Miata Club has the minimally insulated top also found on the base level trim, and at highway speeds the wind and road noise fills the cabin with a loud, steady roar. This likely won't be a problem for fans of white noise, and it can be overcome by the stereo. However, over a few hundred miles, it starts to get old. The suspension, while superb for carving corners, also gets tiresome. On rough Rust Belt highways, it would become a bit overwhelmed, and the whole car would shiver and shake. On the plus side, nothing squeaked, rattled, or fell off in these instances. There are a few other quirks that show up on long trips. The small pedal box and floor-mounted throttle means that there isn't a particularly comfortable place to rest your right foot when the cruise control is set. Neither the door nor the center console have much padding either, so leaning your knees against them for long periods of time isn't advisable. The good news is that the seat itself was surprisingly comfortable, and never once was I feeling any back pain. Plus, when not using the cruise control, the seating position is great, allowing me to stretch out and relax. When I picked up my four-legged compatriot (a 7-year-old mix of unknown breeds named Ruby, pictured above), things became a tad tight. Standing up, she thoroughly filled the passenger compartment. For reference, she's a little over 50 pounds and stands a little more than 2 feet tall. Much bigger dogs, like my family's coonhound and German shepherd mix, won't really fit. This also made her prone to nearly face-planting on the dashboard anytime the car slowed down. She eventually figured out that simply curling up on the seat bottom was the best choice, and then slept for most of the trip. So it worked out, but I think I may have found the limit of a Miata's dog capacity. Would any of this make me want a Miata less? Certainly not. That is if I had a second car.

Mazda3 sales off to rocky start despite massive critical acclaim

    Tue, 18 Mar 2014

Like just about every other auto publication we've seen, we loved the way the Mazda3 drove when we reviewed it a few months ago, but those glowing reviews apparently aren't helping its sales. The new compact may be falling victim to a sales war between the Toyota Corolla and Honda Civic, with the newcomer getting squeezed out by those with more established names and bigger marketing budgets.
According to Automotive News, Mazda3 sales have fallen every month since last August, and its sales are down 27 percent in the first two months of 2014. It certainly isn't helping that the entire compact segment is down five percent this year as well.
The biggest problem for the new model seems to be its price compared to rivals. Mazda is not offering the incentives that are on the hood of competitors. With the previous generation, the company offered more than $2,700 on the hood to move them out, but the current model only carries about $1,233 in markdowns, according to AN.
