What a wonderful time to be out driving with the TOP DOWN !!

VERY LOW RESERVE !!  WAY BELOW ANY IMAGINED BOOK PRICE!!

If you've not owned a convertible before, well... what are you waiting for? I'm a BIG TIME Miata fan and happy to share this with you. I had a total of 5, yes FIVE, Miatas at one time!! I've thinned out the herd, so to speak, and now down to two. I'm keeping only one, but I need to let this baby of a SWEET Miata go to be enjoyed by another...  I used it for several years as my everyday work commuter and you can't beat its smooth AUTOMATIC transmission to handle the stop and go rush hour. BUT it was only a 10 mile, non-freeway commute, so I could still enjoy the pleasure of driving such a gem without the frustration of a long freeway commute!  If you're planning to drive the Miata daily in the city, YOU WILL DEFINITELY AGREE THE AUTOMATIC IS GREAT!

Check out the pictures I've posted. She's beautiful ! Sure it's now about 14 years old, but I'm only up to just over 80,000 miles on it! It's WELL cared for, strictly factory stock, not raced or rallyed. Super smooth engine and transmission, doesn't skip a beat. Super strong acceleration and incredible handling and braking of course! Hey, it's a Miata!

My Miata has the best color combination for a convertible roadster... gotta be the classic BRITISH RACING GREEN and TAN LEATHER INTERIOR AND TAN CONVERTIBLE TOP! AND I'm selling my Miata with the matching TAN TONNEAU COVER! Top is is GREAT condition with electric defroster GLASS window, NO TEAR OR LEAKS! Interior is clean and exterior is quite good. The front right fender shows some paint wear finally, but still looks good as you can see in the pictures. AWESOME... BOTH LOOKS AND PERFORMANCE!

The power windows, power mirrors, etc work fine and the AC is cold. Tires are B+ all the way around! What else can I tell you? I've priced her to sell now, so I won't have to post it on ebay...

Call me now if you have any questions because there WILL be a LOT of interest as soon as it's posted at this PRICE TO SELL! I'm over on the west side of Houston.

Hope you're the lucky driver of my Miata!

Thanks, Brian

4 automakers agree to $553M settlement of Takata airbag claims

Thu, May 18 2017

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Four automakers agreed to a $553 million settlement to address class-action economic loss claims covering owners of nearly 16 million vehicles with potentially defective Takata airbag inflators, according to court documents filed on Thursday. Toyota's share of the settlement costs is $278.5 million, followed by BMW at $131 million, Mazda at $76 million and Subaru at $68 million. According to a press release from Plaintiffs' Committee for Takata Airbag Product Liability Litigation, the funds for the settlement are aimed at getting more cars with faulty airbags fixed. At the time of writing, Toyota had the greatest recall completion percentage of 31.89 percent followed by Subaru with 31.37 percent. Mazda has completed repairs on 18.16 percent of affected cars, and BMW brings up the rear with 16.48 percent completion. Some settlement funds will go to an outreach campaign to increase awareness, while other funds will be used to reimburse people for any costs accrued to get their cars fixed. These costs can include rental cars, child care, lost wages, or any other reasonable costs associated with bringing in a vehicle for repairs. Furthermore, a customer support program will be funded with settlement money to handle any additional repairs or adjustments that could become necessary in the 75,000 miles following the airbag replacement. Lawsuits against Honda, Ford and Nissan have not been settled, lawyers said. Takata inflators, which can explode with excessive force and unleash metal shrapnel inside cars and trucks, are blamed for at least 16 deaths and more than 180 injuries worldwide. The safety defect has prompted recalls worldwide of about 100 million inflators by more than a dozen major automakers. Mazda5 will officially die this year

Thu, Aug 6 2015

We knew it was coming, but it just became a lot more official. Mazda is going to kill the closest thing to a driver-oriented people-mover when it phases out the Mazda5 MPV for model year 2016. The news was presented quietly and unremarkably, with Mazda giving its compact minivan a single-line obituary as part of an announcement recapping changes to the brand's lineup for 2016: "There are no plans at this time to bring a replacement Mazda5 to the US market beyond the 2015 model year." Despite being a critical favorite for its fun-to-drive nature and seven-seat capacity, the 5 never really resonated with consumers, representing a small percentage of Mazda's total sales. In its best sales year, 2008, only about 22,000 were sold, representing only about eight percent of the brand's sales that year. That percentage was even smaller in recent years, as the 5's sales fell into the low ten-thousands. In other Mazda news, the brand is making a number of small, subtle changes to its lineup. Almost all of them constitute new ore removed options and are available for your perusal in the attached press release. Scroll down for a look. 2016 MAZDA LINEUP: WHAT'S NEW Having launched two refreshed and two all-new models for the 2016 model year, Mazda North American Operations is keeping busy with broadening its award-winning lineup of cars and crossovers. For the 2016 model year, Mazda is keen to maintain its leadership in providing unmatched KODO—Soul of Motion design and excellent driving dynamics and democratizing advanced safety technologies like Mazda Radar Cruise Control and Smart Brake Support into even its smallest, most affordable vehicles. Mazda6 and CX-5 return for 2016 with new styling elements, interior amenities and refinement. Mazda CX-3 enters the North American market in a new, hot segment, and MX-5 Miata continues its mission to provide unadulterated driving thrills to the masses. Last but not least, Mazda3 has been repackaged for 2016. Below is a list of what's new and different with Mazda's 2016 lineup.

Mazda and Lexus crowned with KBB 5-Year Cost To Own awards

Tue, 12 Feb 2013

We report on a lot of awards, some of which are given out based on more solid criteria than others. This one, the Kelley Blue Book 5-Year Cost to Own awards, seems like one that new car shoppers should pay attention to.
The cost of a car goes far beyond what you pay for the actual metal, leather and rubber at the point of purchase. Fuel, insurance, maintenance and repair costs, and the cost of fees from the state and financing will all weigh on your wallet while you own the car. That's not even taking into account the biggest cost: depreciation, or the amount of money you lose based on what your car is worth years from now versus the day you bought it.
KBB tracks these sorts of things, and they've compiled a list of winners for 2013 models. On the brand level, Mazda and Lexus earn the 5-Year Cost to Own award for having the lowest overall projected five-year totals (though, curiously, we note that Mazda and Lexus each had only one segment winner). There are lots of winners for all the various segments, so we'll just pick out a few surprising ones to share and you can view the rest here.
