I am selling this Mazda to pay for a vacation to Disney World for myself and my 12 year old daughter. Her mother was killed in a home invasion earlier this year. I have limited income and know that opportunities to go on a family vacation will become more limited as she gets older. I had the option of fixing this car up eventually, or just sell it and use the money for vacation. My plans originally were to fix it up for my daughter when she is able to drive.
The engine runs great, I have had no problems with the engine whatsoever. The handling on this car is probably the best out of all of the cars I have every owned. The gas mileage is usually around 30MPG. With gas prices going up, this will make a great car for trips around town. I really liked this car and hate to see it go. But I am not a mechanic and this project will take more time and money than I have. So my loss is someone else's gain.
Please do not expect a perfect car, this one was my daily driver for the past 10 years and has seen it's share of problems. The clutch went out about 4 months ago and I have not been able to drive it much after. It will start in gear, and able to drive for short distances by shifting gears between certain RPMs. At highway speeds, the top does not 'whistle' nor leak, but is the original top and over 15 years old, it will need to be replaced. As I live in SW Oklahoma, it has some hail damage, windshield and windows are intact. The front driver's turn signal was broken by a runaway shopping cart that wedged onto the top of the hood, there is a dent and scratches on the hood from this. The clear coat is peeling on the trunk, spoiler and back left side. There are various dents and door dings on the sides of the car. I had planned on having it repainted eventually. The brakes need to be replaced. I have very little mechanical ability, so I would have to take it to have these repairs done. If you are mechanically inclined, this will be a great project car for you. Also, the drivers seat has been worn through from getting in and out, but I put a seat cover on it.
If there are any pictures that you would like added or emailed, let me know. Title is clear. I can deliver up to 200 miles, but if that is needed, I will add a delivery fee. When picking up, it will need to be towed due to the clutch being out.

Mazda replaces owner's crashed 2016 Miata with brand new car
Fri, Jul 24 2015The first shipment of 2016 Mazda MX-5 Miatas are finally here. Imagine the jubilant sensation of being among the 1,000 people to pick up the limited Launch Edition, only to feel eviscerated when the new roadster crashes hardly a mile away from the dealer. While it must be an absolutely horrendous experience, Mazda North American Operations is making things right for one forlorn couple. In what was surely among the first recorded crashes of the 2016 Miata in the US, a husband and wife recently went to pick up their new Launch Edition, but they were rear-ended almost as soon as they left the dealer. According to Jalopnik, the hit also caused the roadster to slam into the car in front and might have bent the frame. To make a bad situation even worse, the wife also needed to be taken to the hospital to be checked out. Mazda is coming to the couple's aid with a generous gift. Knowing that it's utterly unfair for the new owners not to enjoy some top-down driving while the summer lasts, the company is actually sending the pair another Launch Edition to replace their crashed example. According to a Facebook post by the dealer (below), the car should be available sometime next month. Hopefully, the couple can enjoy thousands of miles of roadster driving with this one. After hearing about one of our customers getting rear-ended just minutes after picking up their new Miata, Mazda is sending out a replacement next month! #LongLiveTheRoadster Posted by Tom Bush Mazda on Wednesday, July 22, 2015 Related Video:
Mazda returning to top-tier racing with diesel-powered prototype in USCC
Thu, 14 Nov 2013Mazda has unveiled its latest challenger in the top flight of endurance racing, a diesel-powered prototype that will campaign the inaugural, 2014 Tudor United SportsCar Championship. The new Skyactiv-D-powered car will make its race debut at January's Rolex 24 at Daytona.
"This is the most significant step Mazda has taken towards returning to the global racing stage since our overall victory at Le Mans in 1991," said the director of Mazda Motorsports, John Doonan. That historic racecar, the rotary-powered 787B, has grown to become one of Mazda's many, well-known racers.
More recently, the Japanese brand has been making waves in the Grand-Am series, campaigning RX-8s and, most recently, running diesel-powered Mazda6 sedans in the GX-class. Mazda will campaign two factory-backed prototypes at Daytona. Driver lineups will be announced closer to race day.
Mazda returns to rotary with RX-Vision Concept, crowd goes wild
Wed, Oct 28 2015Rotary! Forget everything for a second. Ignore the sleek styling, formed-by-wind sheetmetal, outrageously rear-drive proportions, and general ridiculousness of the sideview mirrors. And please be so kind as to ignore the poorly lit photos here – Mazda has a thing for drama. Concentrate instead on one fantastic phrase from the concept car press release: "next-generation Skyactiv-R rotary engine." The crowd here in Tokyo was downright frothing to get a look at the new concept car – hoping to catch a glimpse of the first evolutionary stage for a RX-9 sports car. The critical factor in that effort is of course the rotary engine. Mazda says that, while production of the powerplant is "on hold," the company has "never stopped research and development towards the rotary engine." The fact that the company has named the new engine gives us great hope that it exists in reality, and will be available for sale at some future date. The devil is in the details though, and there are precious few available at the Mazda stand. Other than a brief history lesson about Mazda's racing heritage, and fuzzy-vision talk about the future, we only have expectations to feed on. Oh, there's also a tiny press release, below. Related Video: HIROSHIMA, Japan—Mazda Motor Corporation unveiled the rotary-powered Mazda RX-VISION sports car concept at the Tokyo Motor Show*1 today. The rotary engine is a symbol of the company's "never-stop-challenging" spirit. RX-VISION represents a vision of the future that Mazda hopes to one day make into reality; a front-engine, rear-wheel drive sports car with exquisite, KODO design-based proportions only Mazda could envision, and powered by the next-generation SKYACTIV-R rotary engine. Rotary engines feature a unique construction, generating power through the rotational motion of a triangular rotor. Overcoming numerous technical difficulties, Mazda succeeded in commercializing the rotary engine, fitting it in the Cosmo Sport (known as Mazda 110S overseas) in 1967. As the only automaker to mass-produce the rotary engine, Mazda continued efforts to improve power output, fuel economy and durability, and in 1991 took overall victory at 24 Hours of Le Mans with a rotary engine-powered race car. Over the years, the rotary engine has come to symbolize Mazda's creativity and tireless endeavor in the face of difficult challenges. While mass production is currently on hold, Mazda has never stopped research and development efforts towards the rotary engine.
