Tucson, Arizona, United States
2006 MazdaSpeed 6 AWD Turbo Here is my info and take on the car first: Very low production # of a factory built Hi Performance Sedan. Im helping a good friend sell his well maintained, almost anal retentive to the point 2006 MazdaSpeed 6. Adult owned and driven this car has not been beat on or raced on a regular basis. The car has never been in the snow and because Az gets about 12" of rain a YEAR, its hardly ever been driven in the rain. The owner is actually more of a 4x4 guy, but wanted something cool fast and different, so about a yr or so ago this was the answer to the vehicle he was looking for instead of driving his lifted 4x4 everyday. If you are looking at the auction you may already know a little bit about how rare these cars and and how well designed these cars are out of the box from the factory. Built to take on other AWD cars in its class, STi , Evo etc and Mazda did it very well and under the radar. DRIVETRAIN: Turbo AWD 2.3L w a 6 spd // All dealer maintained INTERIOR: Super clean and well kept leather is in better shape then you may expect. Even for a 7 yr old car, its in great condition. Dont expect NEW, but check out the pics. Owner is a Non smoker too. Tinted windows normal for AZ SUSPENSION: All stock original down to the OE alloy rims Rides and drives great. A few of the rims do have some road rash, but its all cosmetic. BODY: All original body panels and paint . Shown in the last few pics near the bottom youll see the pics of the obvious damage. Door ding / scuff on the lower front bumper / and small split in the lower front air dam bumper area. Keep in mind its a 7 yr old car. The owners name is Jordan and you can email him directly at (jordan@thetechkeys.com) or email us thru ebay if you want. Scammers dont bother haha. Now here is the info supplied to me by the owner for the ad: I am sad to sell my 2006 Mazdaspeed6 but I am moving to LA and will be buying a different, more appropriate car for the Ca surroundings The car has 94,889 miles on it and is in near perfect condition. The body has a few small dings but that is about it. All work performed on this car was done here in Tucson at the Jim Click Mazda dealer on auto mall. I have very thorough records of all work -scanned as PDF's that I can provide digitally, printed, or both. The work includes very expensive wear items like the rear differential, AWD coupler, timing belt, valve job, and emissions system update - all already done professionally. On top of that I have had every single small detail fixed at the dealer and will continue to do so till the car sells. All oil changes done on schedule at dealer as well. If you are good at driving a manual transmission you are welcome to test drive, otherwise please bring someone with you who is. 1993 Mazda RX-7 Retro Review | A '90s hero turns 25
Fri, Sep 14 2018Boom times build interesting cars. In the late 1980s, Japan was flush with capital, and automakers spent like the party was never going to end. Suddenly building the third-generation RX-7 — the world's most advanced twin-turbo rotary sports car — seemed like the most natural thing a small car company hailing from Hiroshima could do. On this side of the Pacific, however, there was no context for the sudden influx of unusually tricked-out Japanese hardware flooding American dealerships. And none of the Japanese sports cars of the era was more unusual than the FD-generation Mazda RX-7, imported from 1993 to 1995 (and continuing on in Japan until 2002). Although the island nation's economy was headed on a downward spiral by the end of 1990, Mazda was in no position to pull back and walk away from the development dollars that had already been spent on its latest RX-7. As a result, Americans were able to briefly bask in the glow of one of the most unique engineering experiments ever unleashed on unsuspecting buyers. For its time, the Mazda RX-7 was a spaceship. With fluid lines that screamed "exotic," it joined the NSX in showing that supercars didn't have to have European blue blood running in their cooling systems to elegantly snag eyeballs. The twin-rotor, 1.3-liter 13B-REW situated behind the RX-7's front axle revved all the way to 8,000 rpm on its quest to produce 255 horsepower and 217 pound-feet of torque, with a pair of sequential turbos handing boost duties back and forth around the 4,500 rpm mark. A five-speed manual gearbox was standard with the FD (a four-speed automatic was optional), as was a curb weight in the neighborhood of 2,800 pounds — nearly 500 lbs less than the contemporary Toyota Supra. Significant figures for the era, to be sure. While they might pale in comparison to the average sports car today, slide into the RX-7's cockpit and drive the car, rather than just crunch the numbers. You'll quickly discover what can be accomplished when the company that engineered the Miata pulls a full John Hammond and "spares no expense" developing a world-beating sports car platform. The 1993 Mazda RX-7 I've been loaned from Mazda's classic collection is an R1 car, which means tighter suspension tuning, a few cosmetic upgrades, and a Competition Yellow paint job.
Mazda2 sedan images released ahead of Thailand reveal
Fri, Nov 21 2014Mazda will let customers put some junk in the trunk of its Mazda2 with the introduction of a new four-door model at the upcoming Thailand International Motor Expo on November 28. While the show is still days away from beginning, the Japanese automaker is already spilling some of the details about the sedan variant of its fetching subcompact. The four-door and traditional hatchback versions of the Mazda2 will both hit Thailand in early 2015. The two of them are essentially identical other than the added trunk and adjusted rear styling for the sedan. It basically makes the model look like a shrunken down version of the Mazda3 sedan, which isn't a bad thing at all. The company has big expectations for the little car because they're already Mazda's bestselling passenger models in Thailand. Both models will be sold with the SkyActiv-D 1.5 diesel in Thailand, which gives them lower taxes under the government's low-emission, compact car incentive plan. According to a previous rumor, a gasoline-fueled mill could join the lineup eventually, too. There's also gossip that the Mazda2 sedan could eventually be sold in Australia and Europe, but US sales are still a mystery. When asked about the four-door here, Mazda spokesperson Eric Booth told Autoblog, "We'll have more to say on Mazda2 at a later date. Right now, our focus is on the launches of the all-new CX-3 and MX-5 as well as the refreshed CX-5 and Mazda6." The company is showing all of those models at this week's Los Angeles Auto Show. Mazda to Debut the All-new Mazda2 Sedan at Thailand International Motor Expo - Goes on sale in Thailand alongside the hatchback model early 2015 - HIROSHIMA, Japan-Mazda Motor Corporation will debut the sedan model of the all-new Mazda2 (known as Mazda Demio in Japan) at the Thailand International Motor Expo 2014*1 on November 28, 2014. The all-new Mazda2 compact sedan features handsome proportions and bold styling, a high-quality, sporty interior and a combination of excellent driving performance and outstanding environmental and safety performance. The all-new Mazda2 hatchback will also be exhibited at the expo; the first time the model has been displayed to the public in Thailand. Both the sedan and the hatchback feature the SKYACTIV-D 1.5, Mazda's newly-developed small-displacement clean diesel engine. The all-new Mazda2 goes on sale in Thailand in early 2015.
Mazda reportedly to be fully electric and hybrid by 2030s
Fri, Sep 15 2017TOKYO - Mazda plans to make all of its vehicles electric-based, including gasoline hybrids, by the early 2030s, Japanese media reported on Friday, as more automakers shift strategies to meet tightening global emission regulations. The Japanese automaker plans to use electric motors in all of its models by that time, Kyodo News reported, without citing sources. A Mazda spokeswoman declined to comment on the report. At the moment, Mazda's lineup does not include any all-battery electric vehicles. It does offer a hybrid version of the Mazda3, but it's only available in Japan. The company has also experimented with a range-extended electric Mazda2, which used a tiny rotary engine to produce electricity. The move is consistent with the company's Sustainable Zoom-Zoom 2030 plan, which lays out the launch of various green powertrains. Among them are electrified models coming out in 2019. That same year will include the launch of the company's new SkyActiv-X engine, a compression ignition gasoline engine, which promises fuel efficiency improvement of 20- to 30 percent over comparable spark-ignition gas engines. This engine could hypothetically be combined with hybrid technology for even greater gains in efficiency, or even performance if the company so chooses. Mazda's recent partnership with Toyota also means Mazda could be able to quickly develop hybrids and electrics using Toyota's existing technology. This news that Mazda will begin primarily focusing on electric powertrains does seem contrary to Mazda CEO Masamichi Kogai's statement that its gasoline, diesel and electric vehicle technologies would "co-exist" in the future. Mazda on Thursday also launched a new CX-8 three-row crossover for the Japanese market, which is currently only available with a diesel engine. The company also plans to finally introduce a diesel engine to the United States in the CX-5 crossover. Assuming that Mazda's move to fully electrified vehicles is true, it will join a couple of other automakers planning to do the same. Volvo Car Group in July said that all of its new models from 2019 would feature some amount of electrification, and Jaguar-Land Rover will follow suit starting in 2020. Reporting by Naomi Tajitsu.
