Hi Everyone,

I am selling my 2004 Mazda 3S 2.3L. The car is in great condition, but I can't afford to keep two cars on my insurance and I just purchased a new one a few months ago.

I bought the car in Oct 2010 with 87K miles on it from a dealer and have driven it as my everyday commuter car since then. I get about 30mpg on average and if on long highway trips that moves closer to 32 or 33mpg. It is also very spacious and I have been surprised how many things I have been able to transport in it. It is also great in the snow and has gotten me up some pretty steep hills on absolutely covered roads.

It runs great with no mechanical issues. The engine runs smooth with no hesitation, no leaks, no unusual noises. Transmission shifts smoothly with no clunks, grinding or issues. Suspension and brakes work perfectly. As with every car I own, maintenance has been kept up with according to the manual (full synthetic oil changes every 3K miles, transmission fluid changes every 30k, brakes, tire rotations, etc). Additionally, I just put new tires on it less than 5K miles ago and had a new radiator put in after a stone pierced the old one. The car is in excellent mechanical condition and was inspected January 2013 in PA.

The interior is in great condition too. No rips, tears or scrapes. AC/ heat both work great and the radio plays like a champ.

As you will see in the car history report, the car was involved in two accidents. The first was before I owned it, but I never saw any issues with the car resulting from that damage (mechanically or cosmetically). The second was a VERY low speed minor collision while I owned the car. I was coming out of a school parking lot after watching a soccer game and I went to make a right turn. There was a van next to me in the left turning lane when I approached the stop sign. We were both stopped, then we both went to make our turns, except the van decided to also turn right without signalling. I saw it coming over and stopped and it hit the front driver's quarter panel and bumper at about 5 mph (denting/ scraping both). It was deemed the van's fault and I had it fully repaired. Looks brand new and there was no damage other than cosmetically to those two items that were replaced.

Please note: There are three minor things that aren't perfect, as it is a used car. First, there are a few small scrapes on the back bumper from someone bumping into me when parallel parking (pictured). Second, the shift knob has some of the finish worn off (also pictured). Finally, the electric switch for the side mirrors does not work- I believe it needs a new relay, but just haven't had time to fix it. I know these are minor, but I just want to ensure there are no surprises, as it is a great car!

Thanks and Happy Bidding!

2014 Mazda3 officially rated at 30/41 mpg, priced from $16,945*

Wed, 24 Jul 2013

It's hard not to be smitten with the 2014 Mazda3; after all, just look at it. But beyond its slick lines, we found the new compact hatch to be a pretty remarkable steer, offering up good levels of comfort and refinement, not to mention functionality and engagement. Now, there's more reason to like the 2014 Mazda3, as we've just learned that the car will officially be rated at 30 miles per gallon city and 41 mpg highway.
That 30/41 rating is for the Mazda3 sedan fitted with the 2.0-liter Skyactiv-G inline four-cylinder engine and a six-speed automatic transmission. Opting for the manual transmission retains the 41-mpg highway number, but drops the city digits to 29. Hatchback models with the 2.0-liter engine achieve 29/40 mpg with the manual 'box and 30/40 with the automatic.
Mazda also offers a larger 2.5-liter inline-four in the 3, and while a six-speed automatic will be the only transmission available with this engine at launch, the automaker has confirmed that a manual is coming shortly. With the 6AT and 2.5, the Mazda3 sedan is rated at 28/39 mpg, or 29/40 with the company's i-Eloop regenerative braking system. Hatchback models shrink those numbers to 28/37 and 29/39 mpg, with and without i-Eloop, respectively.

A tough choice: 2017 Honda CR-V vs. 2017 Mazda CX-5

Tue, Mar 14 2017

One has to feel for the typical new-car buyer. The one not reading Autoblog and the one who recognizes a V8 as vegetable juice. For them, picking between compact crossovers must seem like choosing between various identically sized cardboard boxes. Which one do you want? "Ah, I'll take the one with the best deal." Except, with the 2017 Honda CR-V and now the 2017 Mazda CX-5, Joe P. Everyman has a chance to choose between two vehicles that are quite clearly different, yet also clearly leaders in what they do. Everything else seems like alternatives based on price or perhaps off-road readiness (Jeeps Compass and Cherokee, perhaps a Subaru Forester). As scheduling would have it, a 2017 CR-V Touring just happened to be sitting in my garage the week I was set to drive the new CX-5 Grand Touring in San Diego. This isn't a complete, scientifically enacted comparison test, but there was enough drive time in close succession on the same roads and with similar price tags to draw conclusions. At its simplest, the CX-5 is the best choice for the driver while the CR-V is the best choice for everyone else aboard. That's not to say they are myopic in those classifications – the CX-5 could still ably handle family duty, while the CR-V is impressively well-rounded to drive in a way that shouldn't turn off those seeking some driving involvement. However, each has a clear focus that sets it down a different path toward different target buyers. Let's start with the newer kid on the block from Mazda. It is best suited for the person whose life changes have dictated the switch from an agile car to some sort of family hauler. Its spot-on steering and throttle response evoke Porsche, while the six-speed automatic transmission favors performance over fuel economy (while still getting really good fuel economy). Those dynamic elements, plus a carefully crafted, ideal driving position should make the CX-5 feel "just right" for those used to more sporting, non-family-oriented transport. Inside, the latest CX-5 boasts a handsome, upscale design with materials to match. Aesthetically, to these eyes at least, it's the best of a crowded bunch. Quality-wise, only the also-impressive CR-V would seem to come close. Along with the slick new exterior, the cabin conveys the more premium vibe that Mazda was shooting for with the new CX-5 – it also makes a more emotional connection than the typical cardboard box on wheels.

2020 Mazda CX-30 shows off new appearance package at Tokyo Auto Salon

Fri, Jan 10 2020

Following its introduction at the Geneva Motor Show last year, the 2020 Mazda CX-30 has appeared at the Tokyo Auto Salon wearing some new duds. The automaker developed a body kit for the compact crossover that's going on sale in Japan. The complete kit includes a front splitter, side skirts, rear diffuser panel, rear spoiler, wheels and mirror caps. The body kit is stylish and subtle. The silver accents help it stand out against the plastic body cladding of the stock CX-30. It also has some faux aluminum "skid plate" sections on the front and rear so that people still recognize it as a crossover, even though it looks lower and sportier. Although the kit has only been announced in Japan for now, we expect it will eventually be available in the U.S. just as the Mazda3 appearance package did. The complete kit is priced at $3,147 at current exchange rates, and it's discounted over the price if you were to buy each part individually. That price could change for the American market if or when it's offered here. Related Video: This content is hosted by a third party. To view it, please update your privacy preferences.
