1987 Mazda RX7 with the 13B Rotary engine. Only 76,8xx Miles. The car was owned by an older man(early 60's)before me. He owned it since about 12,000 miles. The car was driven by him on weekends and short vacation trips to the Poconos in PA.

The car is clean inside and out. The exterior is clean, smooth, and shiny. The glass is so clean that it looks new. Between this and the door jams you can tell that this car lived a sheltered life. No rust holes. The chassis is clean. All aluminum suspension arms. Exhaust is stainless steel. The engine bay is very very clean.

The interior shows very little signs of use. The drivers seat has no wear marks or cracks. The passenger seat has no wear on it. Door panels are clean. The dashboard has good color and no cracks. All of the carpet and headliner is clean with no defects.

The engine starts easily and runs well. The exhaust does not smoke. The engine runs quiet and smooth. The idle is a little up and down which is a trait with the rotary engine and it flattens out as the engine warms up. The 5th and 6th port actuators work just as the should opening to provide extra power at 3,500 RPM. This car has a buzzer that goes off at 8,000 RPM because it does not vibrate like a piston engine. The power is very linear and smooth. Acceleration does not take much. Cruising speed does not require more than 1/4 throttle. Throttle response is much quicker than a piston engine. The transmission shifts just like you would want it to. The brakes are all new in all four corners. New rotors, pads, calipers, and hardware. Ceramic pads, Centric rotors, and Wagner Calipers. The calipers have been painted with three layers of black ceramic paint before installation.

The car handles very well. Suspension and steering is very tight and makes no noise over bumps.

I have all of the maintenance records for this car since new. I also have the window sticker. This car was over $28,000 new in 1987. Not Cheap. The title is in my name and must be transferred into the new owners name upon pickup. The title is clean.

Some things that I forgot the mention. The car has two small dents on the hood that you can see at the right angle on a sunny day. This car has had the tires replaced due to old age and never tread wear. They are at the point where this should be done again even though there is plenty of tread left. Tire for this car are very cheap. I thought the new owner might want to change the wheels and tires anyway. This car is not new and do not expect it to be perfect. It is how ever an extremely clean older car. It gets a lot of looks when ever it is seen. It is ready for car shows as it sits. I have seen many of these cars and to find one in this condition that has never been driven hard or ripped apart and modified is very rare. This is that car.

Feds investigating 2010-11 Mazda CX-9 CUVs over braking issues

Mon, 17 Feb 2014

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration is investigating 62,000, 2010-2011 Mazda CX-9 models over brake problems. The government safety watchdog says it has received seven complaints of an observed loss of power braking power to stop the crossover, according to the The Detroit News.
The NHTSA complaints say that the problem causes a hard pedal, increased braking effort and reduced braking effectiveness. Some complaints allege that they hear a hissing noise during braking similar to the sound of air leaving the tires. No injuries or crashes have been reported.
"As always, we are fully cooperating with NHTSA on their investigation. We cannot comment further at this time," said Mazda spokesperson Tamara Mlynarczyk to The Detroit News.

2016 Mazda MX-5 Miata reveal livestream is here and now

Wed, 03 Sep 2014

Let's not understate the significance and difficulty of what's been accomplished here. In this ever-connected, constantly surveilled modern auto industry, Mazda has pulled a coup - it's kept a new vehicle under wraps. Yes, we've seen hacked up and camouflaged mules and maybe a form under a sheet, but Mazda is about to reveal its next-generation MX-5 Miata, and the car - let alone its specifications - hasn't been leaked anywhere yet. Not via clandestine camera phone snapshot, not by patent drawing, not by leaked ad copy, not even by diecast model. Believe us, we've looked.
And this isn't just some humdrum crossover or workaday compact, it's the Miata, the world's most popular roadster, apple of the enthusiast community's eye and seeming center of gravity for the Japanese automaker. For those who are genuinely excited about cars - about motoring - this is an impressive feat. If anything, Mazda's radio silence regarding the fourth-generation ND Miata has only served to heighten our anticipation for a model that probably won't reach showrooms for another year.
So, what's true and what's false among all the rumors? Will the already lightweight Miata really shed hundreds of pounds? What exactly will live under hood and drive those rear wheels?

Illinois’ pro-union stance kills bid for Toyota-Mazda plant, report says

Thu, Oct 19 2017

Mazda and Toyota are fielding bids from states eager to land its new prize: an all-new $1.6 billion U.S. plant where the Japanese automakers would jointly build electric vehicles and employ around 4,000 workers. Now we can apparently scratch Illinois off the list of contenders. According to Automotive News, the Land of Lincoln has been disqualified due to a lack of shovel-ready sites and the state's lack of a right-to-work law curtailing union membership. Mark Peterson, the president and CEO of economic development agency Intersect Illinois, told the publication he's been informed Illinois is not among the three or four finalists for the facility. It's believed those finalists are all in the South. Peterson said that "many national site consultants charged with making recommendations for corporate relocations and expansions will not even consider a state that is not a right-to-work state. In this case, the three states I am told are still in the running are all right-to-work states." The Midwest may be the ancestral home of U.S. automotive manufacturing, but the South has made major inroads in recent decades, with the likes of Honda, Mercedes-Benz, Nissan and Toyota all opening plants there, among others, thanks to lucrative tax incentives and the absence of labor unions. Recent years have also seen so-called right-to-work laws, which prohibit union dues and membership as a condition of employment in organized workplaces, spread to traditional labor strongholds such as Michigan and Wisconsin. The new joint venture plant, which would start operating in 2021, would be capable of producing 300,000 vehicles a year, with production divided between the two automakers. Mazda and Toyota would also take small stakes in one another as part of the deal. It's expected that at least 15 states have submitted proposals to attract the plant. Expect the Illinois news to trigger a new round of debate over the role of organized labor in the modern economy.Related Video: Image Credit: Reuters Green Plants/Manufacturing Mazda Toyota
