For all of you RX-7 fans, it is our pleasure to offer this pristine second to last year of the first generation RX-7 for your consideration.
The Persimmon Red Metallic Clearcoat (R7) looks almost as nice as the day it rolled off the showroom floor, and the gray cloth interior is exceptionally clean.
This is the GSL model, so it is loaded with options, including air conditioning (ice cold), cruise control, power windows, and sunroof (both glass and metal).
The 1.2 liter rotary engine (12A) runs perfectly and the 5 speed manual transmission is tight and the clutch is strong. It rides on original alloy wheels with an excellent set of matched tires. It starts right up, idles smooth, accelerates as it should, has no vibrations at any speed, tracks and stops straight and true. It is a true joy to drive!
The CarFax report shows just two previous owners, and in the glove compartment is the original owner's manual and some paperwork/receipts from the original owner. This RX-7 has less than 72,000 original miles!
It is a rust free car and has no signs of ever being smoked in. There are several (approximately 8) small dings on the hood and some (approximately 5) on the roof, but none have paint damage and should be able to be popped out with paintless dent repair. It is believed the car has been repainted at some point in the original color, but if so, it was done exceptionally well, as there is no overspray, orange peel, runs or other imperfections.
Inside, the radio station selection button is missing, the driver's side OEM floor mat is torn, and the rear carpet is faded (replacement cover shown in photos). Other than that it is in amazing condition inside. It is clean and has no offensive odors, and everything works.
You will find a slide show on this listing that contains a plethora of photos from every angle. If you are on a phone or tablet, the slideshow may not load, so check it out with your laptop or desktop.

Best places to get your car maintained and repaired
Wed, May 1 2024In this era of rampant inflation and high interest rates, the challenges of acquiring a car or SUV have been well documented. And so it has never been more important to protect that expensive investment by maintaining it. In recent months, Autoblog has shared Consumer Reports' evaluation of the least and most expensive car brands to keep running, as well as tips to prolong a car’s useful life. Especially since the pandemic, a number of factors have impacted these costs: more complex vehicles, new materials and manufacturing methods, a shortage of qualified technicians and replacement parts. Since 2022, repairs costs have jumped each year by about 10 percent. This month, Consumer Reports is offering a useful primer on keeping your ride in great shape, suggesting what might be the best options for searching out a repair shop, depending, as CR says, “on your car and your situation.” Author Ben Preston identifies three basic types of repair facilities: dealership service departments, independently owned repair shops, and chain repair shops. Building up trust with a specific shop and feeling comfortable going there is important. Preston quotes John Ibbotson, chief mechanic at Consumer ReportsÂ’ Auto Test Center: "You might be able to save a few bucks by going to whichever shop offers the cheapest prices, but if you want consistent, reliable service, itÂ’s best to find a repair shop you trust and stick with it,” Ibbotson says. The story goes on to evaluate each type of service facility. HereÂ’s a breakdown of CRÂ’s findings: Dealerships These work well for owners of newer cars, especially for covered warranty work. But the disadvantage is the high labor rates common to dealer service. Satisfaction ratings for dealer service departments range from very good (Acura, Lexus, Mazda, and Volvo) to not-so-good (Jeep and Kia). Dealers are best for: Fixing infotainment system glitches: "If the screen in the center of your dash has a habit of freezing up, or the touchscreen-activated climate controls arenÂ’t working, the dealership is the most likely place to find someone with the know-how to fix problems that maybe only a factory-authorized technician can access," Ibbotson says. Safety system recalibration: "Anything from a crack in your windshield to a minor fender dent can upset the calibration of the sensors that make features like automatic emergency braking and adaptive cruise control work," says Ibbotson.

Its air suspension and electronically controlled dampers waft you over poor pavement with nary a cabin disturbance. Every last luxury you might want for is present from auto-opening doors, massaging seats and rear wheel steering. It's all there for a price that is shockingly low versus the leading German luxury sedans, making it all the more impressive." A Mazda Miata with a Hellcat V8 exists, and it can be yours
Mon, Sep 23 2019Mazda Miatas with V8 swaps aren't unusual. Kits are available to drop in LS V8s from GM, and some even let you drop in an old Ford 5.0-liter V8. But a Miata with a Hellcat V8 is something special, and this one can be yours. As Automobile spotted, it will go across the block at the Barrett-Jackson Las Vegas auction. This particular 1999 Miata has a build history you can check out for yourself, too. It was all chronicled on YouTube channel KARR. Obviously the Hellcat engine does fit between the wheels, but the hood had to be cut open for the intake manifold and supercharger to fit. The front bumper and lights have been changed to the 2001+ NB Miata design. According to the listing, it has suspension components from V8 Roadsters, a company that specializes in Miatas with twice the normal number of cylinders. In the middle of the car is a manual transmission, which connects to a Ford 8.8-inch differential that's been welded up. With that much power and an essentially locked rear diff, it should make for an excellent drift car. Fortunately it also has 10-inch wide wheels for more grip, and upgraded Wilwood brakes to stop it. It will go for auction at Barrett-Jackson's Las Vegas event, which runs Oct. 3-5. There is no estimated price for the car, which is understandable since nothing like it has crossed the block before. It will go to a new owner, whatever the price, as it is being listed as "no reserve." So if you want to win burnout contests or get loads of stares at next year's Woodward Dream Cruise, you could do a lot worse than picking up this tiny monster.
