2008 Mazda3 I-touring Sedan Low Mileage on 2040-cars
Cary, North Carolina, United States
|
While the car has been in no "moving" accidents, someone did back into the front right bumper and left the scene.....there is some cosmetic paint damage, but no damage to the bumper, lights, lamps, or anything else. There have been no mechanical problems, no leaks, no electrical problems. The car has been owned by us for six years, we are the original owners. We recently replaced the front two tires, and have always maintained the car. There is less than 49,000 miles at this moment, although we are soon to meet and exceed that mileage. There is no visible rust. The interior has a few cosmetic defects, namely gum residue on the driver's seat and one cigarette burn in the passenger seat, even though the car was supposed to be maintained as a non-smoking car. (Sons!!!)
The car has been highly reliable, we have been pleased. As a mother I insisted on ABS brakes, and side curtain air-bags. It is six years old, and while the mileage is low, it is no longer protected by the 60 month or 60,000 Mazda power-train warranty. Cash deal. Title exchanged when check or paypal clears. Title is in possession of the owner, no liens, clear and free. Car sold AS/IS. |

Weekly Recap: Diesel scandal continues to fuel VW's woes
Sat, Oct 3 2015Volkswagen's woes continued this week when it was delisted from the Dow Jones Sustainability Index and stripped of awards. Senators are also lining up to advocate for criminal and civil action against the automaker, and its consumer reputation is in tatters. Put simply, it's been another rough period for VW. Despite this, the company eked out a sales gain of less than one percent in September, though that was well behind the overall market's performance. Sister brand Audi, which sells a diesel A3, was less affected, posting a 16-percent gain in September. Revelations that Volkswagen rigged millions of diesel-powered cars around the world didn't surface until September 18, so the full sales impact of the ongoing scandal won't likely be felt until October. Meanwhile, VW's image continues to take a beating, and an AutoPacific survey found only one in 14 vehicle owners have a positive opinion of the company. Before the scandal broke, three-quarters of respondents had a positive view of VW. The survey also found 64 percent don't trust Volkswagen, though the same number believe other companies are or may also be using cheating devices to pass emissions tests. "The reputation of diesels has been severely damaged, at least for the short term," Ed Kim, AutoPacific's vice president of industry analysis, said in a statement. Despite the lingering malaise, experts believe VW will recover, just as Toyota and General Motors eventually emerged from their own high-profile controversies. "Consumers have proven through numerous recalls that they are resilient and quickly return to their buying habits," Kim said. OTHER NEWS & NOTES Mazda to reveal sports car concept in Tokyo Mazda will bring a curvy sports car concept to the Tokyo Motor Show in October. The automaker is being especially coy with the details, only releasing the dark teaser shot that you see to the right and a cryptic statement that suggests the concept "condense[s] Mazda's entire history of sports-car development into a single model." Immediately, speculation abounded this is an RX-7 and RX-8 successor, though Mazda didn't specify what engine the concept will have. Reportedly, the company is still working on rotary engines. Mazda will have a Cosmo Sport 110S on its stand in Tokyo, which pioneered rotary technology in 1967. Read into that what you will. 2016 Mazda6 gets a facelift in LA
Wed, 19 Nov 2014The 2014 Los Angeles Auto Show is a busy one for Mazda, as the Japanese brand shows off not only its all-new CX-3, but a facelifted Mazda6 sedan.
The 2016 sedan has been nipped and tucked to better fit in with newer members of the brand's range, including the aforementioned CX-3, as well as the Mazda3 and MX-5 Miata.
The grille's horizontal slats are now trimmed in chrome, while the brand's chrome wing motif on the fascia is larger and more prominent, particularly where it feeds into the headlights.
2020 Mazda MX-5 Miata due for price bump, more safety tech
Mon, Dec 30 2019Mazda hasn’t released official information yet on its 2020 MX-5 Miata, but CarsDirect got its hands on an early draft of an order guide, which suggests both the soft- and hard-top versions of the roadster are due for a price bump after receiving more standard safety technology and some suspension upgrades on certain manual models. Starting price on the 2020 Miata Sport Soft-Top will be $26,580, not including destination, which is reportedly not yet listed, according to the report. ThatÂ’s $850 above the non-inclusive 2019 base price. The price hike on the Grand Touring trim is even higher, at $1,090. For the RF Club Hardtop, starting price inches up by $700 to $33,045 — again, excluding destination, which was $895 for 2019. If you want to drive stick, prepare to pay more for the Grand Touring manual versions, which will climb by $890 and $1,090 for the soft- and hard-top versions, respectively. ThatÂ’s down to new Bilstein shocks, a limited-slip differential, front shock tower braces and a sport-tuned suspension, which should make for fun driving for stick enthusiasts. The big news is that the i-Activesense suite of safety technologies, previously offered as a package, will go standard across all trim levels. It features lane departure warning, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert and low-speed automated braking. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto will also reportedly debut on both versions of the roadster as standard on Club trims and above. The Miata is already coming off a 2019 when it got an infusion of 26 more ponies and 3 pound-feet, bringing output to 181 hp and 151 lb-ft from its 2.0-liter Skyactiv-G inline-four engine, plus that limited-edition 30th Anniversary model. Looking ahead, Mazda is reportedly toying with the idea of electrifying its lightweight roadster for its next generation, expected mid-next decade. Related Video:
