2006 Mazda 3s Touring 2.3l on 2040-cars

I acquired this 2006 Mazda 3 S Touring 4-door sedan virtually brand new with only 1000 miles on it. It has been driven all its life by a careful and cautious driver. I would say that 80% of the miles on the car are highway miles due to having to work out of town over the last couple of years. It is the S Touring Model, which is one of the most premium of the trim levels. It also has virtually every option available that year, including; factory spoiler, factory side skirts, (that combination is very rare and I have not seen many of them); moonroof, and in-dash 6-CD changer. It’s a 5-speed manual, which is rare for the S Grand Touring model, and the reason I was attracted to it. The interior is Black/Red mica and has lots of bells & whistles including a 60/40 fold down rear seat, steering-wheel audio controls, and front and side airbags. Cosmetically this car is superb with virtually not a scratch on it. It does have some minor surface scratches on the doors since it is a car from 2006. There is a deeper scuff mark on the bumper that I will make sure to take a picture of. Also, the windshield did recently take a rock and has cracked. I am willing to fix this through my insurance or I can deduct the cost of repair from the price, which I have researched to be around $210-250 to get it replaced. Routine maintenance and oil-change were conducted always on time with synthetic motor oil. Tires are brand new Bridgestone Ecopia tires warranteed for 65,000 miles at a cost of $670! This car runs and drives great and I have never had any mechanical problems with the car. In sum, if you’re in the market for a small sporty sedan that’s in great condition, with a 5-speed manual, then you’re not going to find one nicer than this. More Pictures to follow soon!! |

Mazda just restored the 787B's forgotten older brother
Fri, Aug 12 2016Among Mazda's many racecars, none is as famous as the 787B, and for good reason. The 787B remains the only Japanese car and the only rotary-powered car to win overall at the 24 Hours of Le Mans. It wasn't Mazda's only successful endurance racer, though. Before the 787B, there was the 767B. Mazda's 767B racecars competed in the IMSA GTP class at endurance races throughout 1989. They featured 630-horsepower four-rotor engines and were very successful in their class. This newly restored car took first and second place class finishes in five of the six races it participated in, and each finish was in the overall top ten. The one exception was a DNF in which the transmission failed. Twenty-five years after the 767B's glory days, Mazda initiated a complete teardown and restoration of the aged car. The work was done by Downing Atlanta and supervised by former Mazda racers Rick Engman and Jim Downing. (Fun fact: Downing was one of the designers of the HANS device.) The shop has also restored other racecars for Mazda, including one of the 787Bs. The car went through a two-year rehab and will make its track re-debut at the Monterey Motorsports Reunion. The event takes place next weekend at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca where the track will once again feature the angry shriek of a competition-grade rotary engine. Mazda goes on engineer hiring binge as recovery picks up speed
Mon, 10 Mar 2014Japan's larger automakers - companies like Toyota, Honda and Nissan - have tremendous engineering talent at their disposal. That's largely because, selling as many cars as they do, they've got more revenues to tap into. Logic might dictate, then, that smaller automakers like Mazda, which no longer has the deep pockets afforded to it by its former partnership with Ford, might have less of a budget and workforce for engineering. But Mazda has been raking in record profits, and it plans on cashing those revenues in by hiring a substantial new pool of engineers.
According to Automotive News, Mazda is preparing to hire as many as 185 new engineers over the next two years - almost four times as many as the 50 engineers it previously targeted. Many of those engineers will be put to work developing the second-generation, Skyactiv 2 technologies that are on the drawing board while the first round of Skyactiv features are still being rolled out.
The boost in recruitment is enabled by a positive fiscal year that ended last March, marking the first profits Mazda had logged in four years. Sources anticipate that the fiscal year culminating at the end of this month will mark the company's most profitable yet, netting over a billion dollars to eclipse the fiscal year that ended in 2008 when it recorded $872.5 million in profits.
2020 Mazda CX-30 shows off new appearance package at Tokyo Auto Salon
Fri, Jan 10 2020Following its introduction at the Geneva Motor Show last year, the 2020 Mazda CX-30 has appeared at the Tokyo Auto Salon wearing some new duds. The automaker developed a body kit for the compact crossover that's going on sale in Japan. The complete kit includes a front splitter, side skirts, rear diffuser panel, rear spoiler, wheels and mirror caps. The body kit is stylish and subtle. The silver accents help it stand out against the plastic body cladding of the stock CX-30. It also has some faux aluminum "skid plate" sections on the front and rear so that people still recognize it as a crossover, even though it looks lower and sportier. Although the kit has only been announced in Japan for now, we expect it will eventually be available in the U.S. just as the Mazda3 appearance package did. The complete kit is priced at $3,147 at current exchange rates, and it's discounted over the price if you were to buy each part individually. That price could change for the American market if or when it's offered here. Related Video: This content is hosted by a third party. To view it, please update your privacy preferences.
