I am selling my Velocity Red Mazdaspeed Miata. It has 49,000 miles. If you are looking at this ad you probably already know that this is the factory turbocharged edition of the smaller four cylinder Miata's. It has 180hp from the factory. I do not want to sell the car at all but I need to. I am firm on the price and it is a very good deal. It is the GT package with BOSE, leather seats with red stitching and cloth top. The car was owned by an older gentleman until last year. It is ten years old so there is some wear and tear but I do detailing on the side and it sure does shine. The paint has a nice flake in it after a good polishing. I purchased the car and did a few simple modifications.  Very reliable and a ton of fun! I drove the car to Myrtle Beach and back with no problems at all. Top down, it was great!

I had the local mazda dealer, who I have known for awhile, do a once over on the entire car. He changed the oil and said everything was good.

Modifications:
Flyin Miata full turbo back exhaust - great sound
Flyin Miata intake kit - includes new throttle elbow pipe, blow off valve and manual boost controller Set to 10psi currently
Miata roadster short shift kit with blox weighted shift knob
LED fog lights that are wired to be DRL so they are on all the time when the car is on
HID headlights
Grom ipod adapter - play and control ipod/iphone through factory radio
upgraded windblocker speakers
Trunk pop kit - opens and stays open when popped
15x7 cm1 wheels with 195/50 tires - less than 5,000 miles on them. Lightweight and much more relaxed than the stock 17s
LED plate lights/dome and red led under the seat that come on with headlights
Tinted windows

It is a great car, fast and fun. I have the title in hand and need to sell ASAP. Thank You

2016 Mazda CX-5 recalled to address failing DRLs

Tue, Feb 11 2020

Mazda announced Tuesday that it will recall more than 35,000 examples of the 2016 CX-5 crossover to address an issue that may lead to deterioration or failure of its LED daytime running lights.  In affected models, the gasket used to seal the wiring harness to the LED module was not manufactured to Mazda's specification. As it degrades over time, it can release sulfur, which in turn can potentially corrode the LED control circuit, causing the LEDs themselves to flicker, illuminate poorly or even fail outright.  Per Mazda, there is no alert for this condition, so drivers can potentially lose daytime running light function without realizing it, leaving them tougher to spot in poor light.  The campaign will cover 36,761 CX-5s sold in the U.S. and U.S. territories. Mazda says no accidents or injuries related to the issue have so far been reported.  This new campaign has not yet been published in the National Highway Transportation Safety Administration (NHTSA) recall database, and Mazda's statement did not include details of the proper remedy for the issue or when customers can expect to be contacted to arrange for service.  We expect that all 2016 CX-5s with LED DRLs will receive new harness gaskets and that those showing signs of LED module corrosion will have those replaced as well.  The 2016 CX-5 has been the subject of four other recall campaigns — including one for an improperly torqued steering knuckle bolt and another for a defective fuel filler pipe — but this is the first  new campaign for that model year since 2016.  Related Video: This content is hosted by a third party. Mazda CEO predicts record US sales in next 2 years

Mon, 18 Nov 2013

The recently appointed CEO of Mazda is apparently quite the optimist, claiming that the Japanese brand, renowned for its Zoom-Zoom driving character (and more recently its sleek, refined designs and Skyactiv efficiency), is claiming the company will record its best-ever US sales within the next two years. According to a report from Automotive News, Masamichi Kogai expects Mazda to move 400,000 of its Kodo-styled vehicles in the increasingly competitive US market by March 2016, with the recently launched Mazda3 leading the charge. "It will impacted considerably by the trend of the U.S. industry. But... it's my hope we achieve the record by that time," Kogai tells AN.
The brand is currently targeting 300,000 units by the end of this fiscal year in March 2014. Given that production and sales of the Mazda3 (and consumer awareness of the 2014 Mazda6) is still picking up steam, it isn't a stretch to imagine Mazda, which sold 240,000 vehicles from January to October of 2013, hitting its target.
Along with the overall increase in sales numbers, Kogai is expecting the independent brand to take an even larger slice of the US sales pie, claiming 2.5 percent US market share, improving from its current 1.9-percent foothold so far in 2013. "I think the upper limit may be 2.5 percent for the time being," Kogai told AN, before pointing out, "We don't want to use a lot of incentives. That is not the sales approach we aspire toward."

Lexus, Mazda win KBB 5-Year Cost To Own Awards

Wed, 05 Feb 2014

We focus a lot on what new cars are like to drive, but it's difficult on a one-week loan to really get a sense of what a car is like to live with. Sure, we try to recreate that sense with our long-term vehicles, but even after a year, it's impossible to know fully learn about a car, particularly in terms of reliability and cost of repairs. For 2014 model year vehicles, Kelley Blue Book has put together a list of the most affordable vehicles over a five-year period.
At the tippy top of the list are Mazda and Lexus, with the Zoom-Zoom automaker winning the award for best non-luxury brand. Lexus, meanwhile, was the most affordable luxury marque over a five-year period. It's interesting to note, though, that not a single Mazda won its segment in this year's awards.
General Motors did quite well, taking eight segments, including both the subcompact and plug-in segments, with the gas-powered Chevrolet Spark and Spark EV. The Chevy Camaro SS and ZL1 took the high-performance car award. Toyota was well represented, with five winners split between the main brand (Corolla, Prius C and Tacoma) and Lexus (LS and RX).
