2000 Mazda MX-5 Miata
"Special Edition-Only 3000 Produced"
"Only 73K" Rare-6speed

This is very well cared for 2000 Mazda MX-5 Miata "Special Edition"  with only 73K. These cars are very hard to find with a this Low mileage. It is also very difficult to find one that has not been modified in anyway(BONE STOCK). This car has always been babied and preserved. It is obvious this car was always garaged and very well serviced it's entire life I do have quite a few service records from the. This car also comes with a clean Autocheck (No Accidents).

The Inerior: is in very very good condition. Non-Smoker car therefore no burns or other wear on the seats or carpet. It has a 6-Speed manual transmission tat shifta smooth and the clutch is firm and releases where it should. The 6- speed is only available in the 10th Anniversary and the Special Edition. It also has ice cold A/C, Factory Bose Stereo, Cruise Control, and all options work as they should. It also has other additional features that metioned below.

The Exterior: is in very very good condition as well. There is no damage or rust on this car maybe a few rock chips in the hood that is it. Far less than you would expect for a car this age and you have to get very close to see any. As I said it appears to have always garaged so the paint has nice depth and shine. It also has the Factory upgraded Polished  Alloy Wheels, Factory Aero Sport Package, that do give this car a great look, but everything is still factory stock. It does have a couple of scrapes at the very bottom of the front spoiler that can not be helped, becuase of the design of the ground effects, they have been touched up are are really not noticable.

This car is ready to go. It has the 1.8L. 140 horsepower engine with the 6-speed manual transmission witch is a great combination that has plenty of power and tork, yet gets really good mileage.

As stated these cars are very hard to find with this low mileage, in this condition, with only 3000 of them ever produced. But you know that if you have been looking.
This car looks even better in person.

This is some of the differences that the Special Edition has and what makes it so unique

Special edition for 2000

For 2000, the Miata Special Edition model (which is limited to 250 cars in Canada) comes in a unique Mahogony Mica exterior colour. Like the 10th Anniversary model, the 2000 Special Edition offers a standard 6-speed manual transmission while all other Miatas have a 5-speed manual transmission as standard equipment.

In terms of features, the Miata Special Edition is not only a Miata with the optional Leather Package and Aero Sport Package, plus a few unique items such as the 6-speed transmission.

The Leather Package, which is normally a $4,100 option, includes a tan-coloured soft-top and tan leather interior, leather-wrapped Nardi steering wheel, cruise control, Bose AM/FM/CD/cassette sound system with 4 speakers, foldable wind blocker, 195/50R-15 inch tires, 15? alloy wheels, anti-lock brakes, limited slip differential.

Standard Miatas with the Leather Package come in Blue, Green or Black exterior colours only.

The Aero Sport Package ($1,800) includes body-coloured front air dam, side skirts, and rear spoiler.

Over and above these features, the 2000 Miata Special Edition substitutes a unique Mahogony Mica body colour and adds a standard six-speed manual transmission, creme-coloured round gauge faces with chromed rings, a wood-rimmed Nardi steering wheel, a Nardi wood shift knob and handbrake handle, woodgrain centre console, chrome door handles, stainless steel scuff plates on the door panels, and polished alloy wheels.

A Miata with the optional Leather Package and Aero Sport Package retails for $33,045, while a Special Edition model is priced at $34,790.

NFL player Alfred Morris receives his thoroughly restored 1991 Mazda 626

Tue, 15 Oct 2013

Washington Redskins starting running back Alfred Morris might not drive a flashy sports car or SUV, but after today, he'll be driving the nicest 1991 Mazda 626 on the planet.
Back in July, Morris temporarily traded in his 626 - cheekily named Bentley - for a 2014 Mazda6 loaner courtesy of Mazda, and today the sedan was presented back to him after the ultimate PR stunt: a reported 275-man-hour restoration that left this 22-year-old daily driver looking like it just rolled off the assembly line.
Not everything was brought back to original condition, though. The expired sticker from Morris' final year at Florida Atlantic University was left on the windshield, but to fit the car's nickname, a few high-end touches were added to the interior. This includes the quilted, cross-stitched leather seats (just like a real Bentley) and the touchscreen Pioneer audio system. There's also a plaque under the hood marking this car as the "Alfred Morris Project."

10 automakers shack up in Detroit hotel to talk Takata airbags

Sun, Dec 14 2014

Since Takata has decided not to take the lead concerning potential issues with its airbag inflators, the automakers have. Perhaps that's unsurprising, since it's the automakers, not Takata, that will take a beating on the dealership floor if consumers decide its models are a health hazards. The Detroit News reports that Toyota, Honda, General Motors, Ford, Chrysler, Mazda, BMW, Nissan, Mitsubishi and Subaru met in a hotel conference room near the Detroit Metropolitan Airport last week to sort out a way to understand the technical issues involved. So far, faulty airbag inflators have been ruled the cause of five deaths and 50 injuries around the world, but neither Takata nor investigators understands exactly why the inflators are malfunctioning. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration recently asked Takata to issue a national recall, Takata declined, citing a minuscule failure rate and the fact that it's still investigating the issue. Toyota and Honda then made an industry-wide appeal for "a coordinated, comprehensive testing program" that would pinpoint the problem inflators and get them replaced, and that's what the Detroit meeting was about. Numerous issues, however, will make this a long row to hoe: simply getting the parts to replace the nearly 20 million inflators in cars recalled around the world so far - even working with other suppliers - will take a years, but more importantly, no one knows if the replacement inflators currently being installed will suffer the same issue. Answers will hopefully come quickly with Takata, the ten automakers and NHTSA all independently investigating the problem.
