1995 Mazda Miata M Edition - Convertible on 2040-cars

I'm the second owner of this beautiful show stopper of a car and it's with great sadness I have to sell after only 10 mos. of ownership. A serious leg injury has made it impossible for me to drive a clutch so my loss will definitely be your gain. With only 3,500 of these made in original production in 1995 this is a rare find! This car has truly been pampered as my pictures indicate. The original owner had it garage kept and it was strictly a weekend car as you can see from the low mileage of 40,343. I've only put 445 miles on it during the time I've owned it . It is the 5 speed manual transmission Limited Edition MX-5 , color: Merlot Mica, (deep burgundy) with the "Popular Equipment Package" that includes power steering, ABS, power door mirrors, power windows, power antenna, cruise control, AC, leather seats, steering wheel and Nardi shifter. In addition other original options that are included are 15" BBS wheels, CD player with 4 speakers, radio, AC, like new carpeted M edition floor mats, tonneau and boot covers, luggage rack, stainless steel sill plates with M edition stamping. Also added was a Clifford Alarm System. I also have the original owners and shop manuals along with maintenance records going back to date of purchase. I will also include a car cover. The original owner, although a retired, older gentleman, fancied himself a racing enthusiast and installed several after market options including a pop up racing fuel cap, special shocks, springs, sway bar, all to the tune of about $2000. From what I understand he never actually raced the car. He was a perfectionist and would bring his own oil and filter to each service and wouldn't allow the "Next Service Due" sticker to be placed on the window! That will give you an idea of how this car has been babied and I've kept up the tradition for the short, but wonderful, time I've owned. I will truly miss this car!! The car drives great, shifts smoothly, has no rattles or creaks, no rust or scratches, and the only defects are a very few small blemishes on the paint, wear to the drivers seat on the side from the seat belt rubbing, some minor corrosion on 2 of the BBS rims. All are defects that you have to really look for to actually see. They certainly don't detract from the look and feel of this wonderful little roadster. Serious bidders only please. $1000 deposit, via PayPal, due immediately upon sale. Local delivery only unless buyers provides shipping.

Mazda Recalling Cars Due To Spider Webs In Engines
Sun, Apr 6 2014It seems that Yellow Sac spiders really, really love Mazda. Three years after Mazda recalled 52,000 Mazda6 sedans over spider webs obstructing the evaporative canister vent lines of 2009 and 2010 Mazda6 models, another recall has been issued for 42,000 more of the models built between 2010 and 2012 and equipped with the 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine. According to the automaker, there have been nine confirmed sightings of spiders in vent lines since the original recall. It seems that covers were applied at the factory to keep the arachnids from entering, but it hasn't quite exterminated the problem. A reflash of the ECU is required that "[changes] the logic behind how the car purges the charcoal canister during normal operation," says Jeremy Barnes, Director, Public Relations & Brand Experience at Mazda North American Operations. So far, Mazda has not recorded any fires, accidents or injuries due to this tangled mess of webs. Recall notices will be mailed out to owners later this month. Mazda CX-9 Luggage Test | How much fits behind the third row?
Sat, Sep 28 2019We recently tested the luggage-carrying capability of one of the most spacious three-row crossovers, the Hyundai Palisade, and now it's time for one of the smallest. The Mazda CX-9 may look terrific and drive even better, but that zest comes at the expense of cargo capacity, as we're about to see. The big culprit is that rakish liftgate, which not only robs the CX-9 of luggage space, but third-row headroom as well. It's pretty dungeon-like back there despite competitive legroom, and there aren't any air vents or USB ports, either. But this is about cargo capacity, so let's see how much luggage will fit inside. According to the specs, the CX-9 has 38.2 cubic-feet with the third-row lowered. That's far less than the Palisade's 45.8 and Honda Pilot's 46.8. It's actually even less than the five-passenger Honda Passport (50.5). The test car came with a $100 cargo mat, which is velcroed to the seats and folds OK with it, but the carpet also takes up some extra space ... and the CX-9 needs as much as it can get. To raise the seats, lean inside and pull up/back on those two handles. There is 14.4 cubic-feet of space behind the raised third row. On paper, that is indeed one of the smaller amounts in the segment, but in practice, it seems even smaller. You can free up space by removing the rigid floor panel. If you need to carry multiple pieces of luggage, it's almost a necessity. OK, so I have two midsize roller suitcases, both of which would need to be checked. Then there's two larger carry-on roll-aboards and one smaller one. As a bonus, there's my wife's quasi-fancy weekend bag. It was a struggle to fit three of them aboard, and Tetrised together two formations. The first uses all three carry-on bags with the cargo floor removed. And no, the fancy bag won't fit atop the blue one because it'll run into the liftgate window. A smaller tote would definitely fit, however. This is how I could fit one of the bigger check-in bags. The liftgate just barely closed. Again, you could fit a small tote atop the blue bag, plus some other items in the lower outboard regions. OK, so how could you fit everything aboard? Lowering half of the 50/50-split third row is a must, obviously. Both big check-in bags then stack atop each other, and then stack the other four atop each other with the cargo floor in place.
2018 Mazda CX-5 teased ahead of LA reveal
Thu, Oct 27 2016While it will make its full debut at the LA Auto Show, Mazda released a teaser of the new CX-5 ahead of time. Like so many other teasers, the car is obscured by low light, but we can make out some significant details. For one, it appears that Mazda has toned down the muscular curves of the current CX-5's front fenders. In fact, many of the crisp creases of the current model have been softened on this new version. Below you can see a brighter version of the teaser alongside an image of the current model. The greenhouse also appears lower and longer than the current model, and it's highlighted by a chrome strip running from the A-pillar back to the roof. Where it terminates also seems to suggest this CX-5 could have the "floating" roof look that's so popular now. However, when comparing the teaser image with recent spy photos, it could just as easily have a more traditional rear pillar and roof design. Those same spy photos also reveal that the new CX-5 will get a more aggressive, concave grille with a mesh insert. This image is all Mazda has revealed of the new crossover so far, so we'll have to wait until the reveal on November 16 for all the details. Related Video:
