I bought this Miata locally about 3-4 months ago, and due to repair bills on my main vehicle I have yet to register it. I have another Miata so I am looking to gain the garage spot back.

COLD AC!

Smooth idle
Smooth acceleration
Smooth shifting - Gear shifter is tight (Miata's have a common issue of shifters needing to be rebuilt)

Long nose crank
Clean top with no rips/tears/wear. Window resealed, and looks/functions as it should.
Brakes in good shape with a good amount of pad

Recent maintenance completed within the past 15-20k:

Master Cylinder (with fluid)
Slave Cylinder (with fluid)
Synthetic T6 Oil Change

Air Filter (K&N)
Radiator

Condition:
1. Small clunk from the passenger side when taking a sharp turn. Ball joints are past their prime after 23 years and will need to be replaced.
2. Off brand tires (Barum?). Rears are in great shape, but the fronts have some wear on the inside of them. Stock wheels repainted graphite grey by myself. After 23 years of brake dust/grime they needed a refinish.
3. AutoCheck doesn't list an accident, but at one point in it's life it was tapped in the front driver side. No frame damage. Fender replaced with factory fender. The driver door has been repainted, but does not match the rest of the car. No fading of paint, but there are some dings and dents (nothing serious).
5.  Early Miata's have been prone to rusting, but this Miata has lived in the southern states most of it's lifetime. Minor surface rust on the underside in the rear and no rust on the body. The muffler doesn't look factory, and for appearance reasons should be replaced. It does not leak. Needs a good degreasing to the underside. There is a heat shield that rattles slightly when started when cold.
5. Interior is clean. Driver seat has minor wear to the side bolster. Small crack on dash, but hardly noticeable. Needs a shift boot.

Please let me know if you have any questions at all. Located in Clermont, FL (30 min west of Orlando). Buyer responsible for shipping. $1000 deposit within 48 hour auction close.

Mazda hands over first factory-restored Miata

Thu, Sep 27 2018

In August 2017, Mazda announced that it will be offering factory quality restoration work for the original, NA body Mazda MX-5 Miata introduced in 1989. The program also included parts support, as Mazda wants to underline how much the original Miata still means to it. The program was launched with exemplary work carried out on a Miata owned by Mazda, but the first customer car has now been finished. The first car was picked from 600 applications sent to Mazda. Out of all these cars needing factory certified work, the 1992 British Racing Green V-Special owned by retired tomato farmer Keiji Nishimoto was chosen to be the first. The Eunos-badged limited-edition car was bought new by Nishimoto, and he told Mazda the car had been instrumental in creating some wonderful road-trip memories. The V-Special edition came in a British roadster-style color combination: "Neo" green over tan leather, complete with a retro-style Nardi wood wheel. The car also has a front strut bar and a limited-slip differential. Nishimoto had already been planning to get his car restored, but getting it done by Mazda during the summer was even better. The car was finished in August, and it was officially handed over to its owner in September. To have owned and enjoyed a car for a quarter-century and getting a chance to experience it in as-new condition again must be a fantastic experience. Nishimoto says the car is now good for another 25 years of driving. For the time being, the TUV Rheinland certified restoration program is only available for Japanese customers. But since a large percentage of first-generation Miatas are still on the road, and a large percentage of those will need bodywork done in all the usual places, we would happily see Mazda reach out to European and American customers as well. Mazda to reveal MX-5 Miata Club Edition in New York

Thu, Mar 26 2015

Mazda is bringing a new version of its latest MX-5 Miata to the New York Auto Show. And while it's giving us very little to go on at the moment, from what we can tell so far, it looks promising. For starters, it's called the Club Edition, which speaks to us of enhanced performance – particularly on the track. For another, the statement below highlights the "maximum driving enjoyment" the existing MX-5 was "designed to deliver," and then proceeds to claim that the Club will "amplify that experience, harking back to the early lightweight sports cars that inspired it, but serving as a beacon for the future as a thoroughly modern, sophisticated package." Hopefully, then, it'll serve as some sort of road-going mid-point between the stock version and the Global Cup racing concept pictured above. We'd expect the 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine to carry over likely unchanged with its 155 horsepower and 148 pound-feet of torque, but with the potential addition of a stiffened suspension, upgraded rolling stock, revised aero, enhanced cockpit and maybe some excess weight trimmed out – although the new Miata doesn't have much to lose as it is. In any case, we're excited. Related Video: 2016 MAZDA MX-5 MIATA CLUB EDITION TO DEBUT AT NEW YORK INTERNATIONAL AUTO SHOW - 2016 MX-5 Club represents most aggressive road-going version - IRVINE, Calif., March 25, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Ready to join the Club? The 2016 Mazda MX-5 Miata Club edition, that is. Mazda North American Operations (MNAO) will be introducing the North American-spec MX-5 Club next week at the New York International Auto Show. The MX-5 Club represents the most aggressive road-going iteration of Mazda's fourth-generation flagship roadster. The 2016 MX-5 sheds approximately 150 lbs. from its predecessor through use of lightweight, efficient SKYACTIV®1 TECHNOLOGY, now weighing 2,332 lbs. when equipped with the standard SKYACTIV-MT six-speed manual transmission (2,381 lbs. with the six-speed automatic). Powering all North American models will be a 2.0-liter SKYACTIV engine, rated at 155 horsepower and 148 lb-ft of torque. Shorter than the first-generation MX-5 that initially graced U.S. shores in 1989, yet wider than the outgoing model and with its engine lower and farther back in its chassis, the 2016 MX-5 is designed to deliver maximum driving enjoyment.

Are you the 2016 Mazda Miata?

Tech nerds are spoiled. Every year, there's a new iPhone that arrives following months and months of breathless speculation and rumormongering. We car folk have a more difficult life, because vehicles with the iPhone's cult-like devotion and following, while plentiful, only receive hefty updates after several years. Case in point, the Mazda MX-5.
There's a new one coming, and much like the iPhone 6, it'll arrive in just a few weeks. So, in lockstep with the tech folk, we're anxiously biding our time and waiting with baited breath for the expected debut date of September 3. Also, like Apple fanboys, we're clamoring over any hint or teaser as to what the next-gen Miata will bring, which is why we're showing you the above image.
That is, allegedly, the new MX-5 hiding under the sheet. Auto Motor und Sport has the image, which according to World Car Fans was released by Mazda. Of course, we've reached out to the Zoom-Zoom brand for verification of its authenticity, and will be sure to update as soon as we hear back.
