Distinctive...Sensual...Rare

This 2003 Maserati Spyder GT 6-speed is ready to become another's new joy. The Ferrari-built engine snarls at idle, cammy and burbly, and at full-throttle absolutely wails. 390 bhp @ 7,100 rpm, 333 lb-ft @ 4000 rpm. 0-60 in 4.8 seconds and a top speed of 174 mph. Handling is crisp and it slices into corners aided by the Skyhook active-dampening suspension.

Always garaged. No accidents. All maintenance up-to-date and verifiable with the original Maserati dealer where it was first purchased. Before I became the owner, this was a Maserati corporate vehicle, so you know it was well cared for. All recalls and TSB's were performed my Maserati.

Also, I ordered a third-party private inspection with the following results: transmission and clutch in perfect condition, well-maintained and with a long service life ahead. Tires have several thousand miles left. No heater core issues. No torque tube issue. High-beams do not ignite due to a wiring issue, but I never used them because of the Xenon low-beams. Several small scratches. Right front wheel slightly scuffed.

Specs:
- 2003 Maserati Spyder GT (much stiffer chassis than 2002)
- 24,340 miles
- 6-speed Manual Transmission (RELIABLE and rare...only 5% of the 4200's sold)
- Nero Carbonio black with black leather interior
- Auto climate control
- Maserati navigation system
- 4-wheel ABS with cross-drilled Brembo brakes

Factory Options:
- Auditorium 200, Hi-Fi audio system with subwoofer (much appreciated upgrade to the base system)
- Skyhook active suspension
- Xenon lighting
- Heated seats
- Brake calipers in red colour
- Full carbon fibre kit (steering wheel, door trim, shift knob)
- Red interiour stitching
- Maserati roadside kit

Swedish toymaker offers a wooden Maserati collection

Thu, Mar 15 2018

In some ways, Maserati had it easier in the 1980s. We don't necessarily mean in a financial sense, or that the cars were especially reliable, but it has to be said both the Biturbo and the third generation Quattroporte are both simple, three-box shapes that are easy to re-create from blocks of solid wood. The Swedish toy company Playsam offers the Alfieri concept, the Levante SUV and open-wheel Maserati race cars in wooden toy car form, and the production portfolio is planned to be enlarged later. Maserati has plenty of classic designs for Playsam to re-create, but our tip is to look into the Biturbo style cars if they want to take a break from all those swoopy shapes you can see in the slideshow above. Maybe they could even offer the Chrysler TC by Maserati with a detachable hardtop: Those round opera windows must be really easy to drill in place. Browsing the online store, the prices for the Playsam's Maserati products are far higher than the toymaker's conventional $70 wooden toy car range, at over $370 apiece. But like the real counterparts, they should not just sit untouched: We would rather see them being used. Related Video:

2015 Maserati GranTurismo to show new styling language for brand

Tue, 25 Jun 2013

Despite the fact that Maserati has yet to officially mention the next generation of its grand touring lineup, it seems like we know plenty of details about the upcoming range of Maserati coupes and convertibles. First we heard that the GranTurismo line would be growing to include three models, then we heard that new, smaller two-seater (possibly named Gran Sport) could be here by 2016 and, most recently, reports indicated that the GranTurismo's successor will feature more compact dimensions to better take on the Porsche 911.
Now Edmunds is reporting that the 2015 GranTurismo will mark a major evolution in the design language for the Italian automaker, while the Levante SUV will get the current styling cues found on the 2014 Quattroporte and 2014 Ghibli. The article also says that Maserati is planning to offer its models with a wider range of available colors and that it will introduce new limited-edition models as well all in hopes of selling 50,000 units globally by 2015.

Alfa Romeo will gain a Jeep Compass-based SUV

Fri, Nov 30 2018

It was reported earlier this week that FCA would invest into its Italian factories to ramp up production at currently underutilized locations. Those plans have now been clarified with official information from FCA, as reported by Automotive News. The entire investment is worth $5.7 billion. First of all, Alfa Romeo will gain a new compact SUV based on the Jeep Compass architecture. The still-unnamed model will be available as a plug-in hybrid, and it will be built in Pomigliano, Italy. No U.S. availability has yet been announced, but it would not be odd to see the Compass-based model sold below the Stelvio in the States. The last time Alfa Romeo had anything similar in its model portfolio was when it offered Crosswagon-badged four-wheel-drive versions of the 156 and 159 wagons. As for the Jeep Compass itself, it will begin to be built at the Melfi plant in Italy. The rumored small "baby" Jeep slotting under the Renegade has not yet been officially mentioned. Fiat will introduce a battery electric 500, built in Turin, and the Pomigliano plant that will make the compact Alfa Romeo SUV will also be used to build a mild hybrid version of the Panda city car. The 500X will gain a PHEV variant. The Stelvio platform will also spawn a corresponding SUV for Maserati, and FCA also mentioned Maserati will introduce a new, unnamed model it will make in Modena. Automotive News quotes Italian press as saying this will be the Alfieri coupe and convertible, also offered as battery electric versions. Related Video:
