We have for sale a very clean 2005 Maserati Quattroporte. This was a locally owned and driven vehicle, with only 19k miles. The teal green paint job is spectacular, especially contrasted with the orange cream leather interior. This vehicle drives and performs exceptionally well, very responsive, shifts perfectly, and brakes with ease. The interior of this car has a few small imperfections, but overall is in great shape. All blemishes have been pictured to the best of our ability. On the interior of the driver's side, between front and back doors, the material is worn and torn from where you can see the vehicle was brushed when the driver entered and exited the vehicle. The driver's seat also has some darkening in the leather, but does not show and cracking or creasing. Other than this, the leather in the car is immaculate. All other seats are in nearly brand new condition. The black center console and steering column have become slightly tacky, which is not unusual for the finish that is applied to these areas on the car. After time, heat and sun can cause this to happen. The exterior of the car is beautiful. The teal green paint job is gorgeous, with a very unique look. On the front end of the car, there is a scratch guard that has some light scratches upon it. These scratches are very light and therefore difficult to picture. On the passenger's side, a dent, maybe 2 inches in length, can be seen on the passenger front door (pictured). There is also a dent accompanied by a scratch on the passenger's side of the vehicle (pictured). The rims are in perfect condition, excluding the passenger front and driver's rear tire. Both show signs of curb scraping (both pictured). Other than that, the paint is in great shape. No signs of sun wear, discoloration, or peeling / flaking. The clear-coat is still in perfect shape, and this car gleams when cleaned! This vehicle is for sale on our lot, and we reserve the right to end the auction at any time if a buyer is found. Watch Maserati prep this Quattroporte for Geneva by hammering on its sheetmetal
Tue, 05 Mar 2013There are untold amounts of primping and set up that goes on in the days leading up to an international auto show. Of course, there are exhibits to erect, lights to hang and scripts to rehearse. There are also cars to prep. Usually the latter involves little more than removing finger prints and dusting, but in the case of Maserati the day before the Geneva Motor Show press days, the process apparently includes banging on the sheetmetal of one of your prized showcars like a crazed woodpecker.
We're not sure what caused a surface irregularity in the door skin of this 2014 Quattroporte - perhaps shipping damage - but it was interesting (and mildly painful) to watch, and hear, a show prepper attempt to repair this six-figure sedan with what looks like a jeweler's hammer, high-intensity light and soft cloth.
That'll buff right out.
New Maserati Ghibli, Levante F Tributo special editions honor a legend
Fri, Apr 23 2021Maserati is harkening back to its racing heritage with two special edition models: the Ghibli F Tributo and Levante F Tributo. Maserati had its Formula One debut in 1954 in the legendary 250F driven by Juan Manuel Fangio. Maserati says the F Tributo honors Fangio, who was a five-time World Champion, the first F1 driver to achieve that feat. Fangio originally drove for Maserati in 1952-54. He returned to Maserati in 1957 and won his career-defining fifth World Championship in a Maserati 250F. The special edition cars are available in two colors: Azzurro Tributo (bright blue) and Rosso Tributo (bright red). Bright blue represents Maserati's home city of Modena, while bright red is the traditional racing color of Italy. The cars' yellow brake calipers and wheel accents are a reference to the red-and-yellow livery of Fangio's Maserati 250F. Red and yellow also are used inside, where buyers can choose either as the contrast stitching for the black "Pieno Fiore" leather. Outside, 21-inch black wheels, black badges, and a body-color trident logo complete the look. The Maserati Ghibli and Levante F Tributo were unveiled at Auto Shanghai. Maserati will offer the two Fangio specials in the U.S. market, and a total of 345 will be produced worldwide. The Ghibli F Tributo is based on the S GranSport ($88,035) or the Q4 GranSport ($90,535), both of which feature a 424-hp turbocharged V6. The Levante F Tributo also is based on the S GranSport trim level ($95,385) with the same engine. Pricing of the F Tributo will be available closer to the North American on-sale date of June 2021. Dealer sues Maserati for fabricating sales numbers
Fri, Sep 4 2015A Maserati dealer with stores in New York, New Jersey, and Florida is suing Maserati North America for allegedly requesting that they inflate sales or receive lower incentives. The plaintiff in this case refused to participate and claims that it unfairly lost profits as a result, according to Automotive News. The lawsuit hinges on a request from FCA that its dealers move vehicles into their test-drive fleet, a practice called punching them. Most stores keep at least one example of each model in their demonstrator fleet. While they don't immediately go to a customer, a punched vehicle appears as a sale for an automaker at the end of the month. This case alleges that Maserati North America told its dealers in September 2014 to punch 2015 Ghiblis, even though the sedans hadn't been delivered yet. As a result, the Italian automaker was able to post an additional 105 sales for the month. Furthermore, the stores purportedly received additional bonuses when they later sold these models to customers, and there was possibly another request to claim vehicles as demonstrators in December 2014, Automotive News reports. Amid rapidly growing global demand, Maserati increased Ghibli and Quattroporte production to 900 cars per week in mid-2014. However, the company had to reverse course in 2015 and cut back shifts at its Grugliasco factory. The launch of the upcoming Levante crossover is expected to bring another boost.
