I'm selling my 2003 Eclipse GT Convertible because I lost my license last week =(

It's in great mechanical condition, everything functions as it should and its very reliable giving me no issues except routine tune ups , brakes , and oil changes since I bought it with 33k miles in July 2007.

The engine is flawless, with a recent tune-up done in February (Plugs,Wires,Distributor,Coolant System Flush, Tire Rotation) It starts up smoothly every time with no hesitations, doesn't LEAK ANYTHING, has plenty of power, and ONLY has 78,540 miles on the car!!

The transmission is automatic , shifts quietly and smoothly every time with no funny noises or anything unsual. The transmission hasn't been flushed because the owners manual calls for this to be done at 80,000 miles so I recommend you follow the book as I have since it was still relatively new and it has been so good to me.

The car has tons of power options including the CONVERTIBLE TOP that function perfectly as they should and have never been an issue.

The A/C is ICE COLD with no leaks or issues

There are no check engine or any kind of lights on , never had an issue with this car's mechanical fortitude.

There are NO big scratches or dents but the body is close to 12 years old and has rock chips and small dings in a variety of places, they can't be seen in photos and are minor, you can see them when you are right next to the car staring directly at them. Any car of this age is the same.

The paint is faded, mostly on the hood, roof, and trunk from sitting in the blistering sun. A fresh coat of paint would make this car new.

The interior is nice, Grey LEATHER, but isn't mint. The seats are all 9 out of 10 except driver , it is worn with damaged leather from getting in and out after sitting in the sun for so many years. The dash is in tact, no cracks and looks nice with some armor all. The carpets are a little dirty but a detail would fix that right up. NON SMOKER CAR

The tires are very nice, warranty included for another 2 years, I bought them in august of last year (They are about 85%) They are brand name , so will last for 50,000 more miles.

Convertible top looks very nice with no tears or holes, its clean and operates exactly as it should.

Only known issue is the driver window doesn't go down all the way

GREAT sound system with CD and alpine speakers, it sounds really good!

Glass is all in great shape

CLEAN CARFAX NO ACCIDENTS!!!!!!!

Blue book says its worth $5900 in "good" condition, I have it listed far below because it needs some paint and a new seat to be perfect but if you got those, it would be in "very good" which is worth even more.

would be interested in any trades involving property or gift cards but need some cash out of the car to pay my fine to get my license back.

Car is located in CLEARWATER BEACH

Ten of the greatest Super Bowl car commercials of all time

Thu, Jan 28 2016

With an average of over 100 million viewers each year, the Super Bowl always has advertisers bringing out the big guns. And for those among us who don't know the difference between a safety and a touchback, those commercials can be one of the most compelling aspects of the annual ritual. Car companies, in particular, have a long history of making the most of the huge Super Bowl audience by debuting some of the most memorable advertisements that have ever aired on television. So, in preparation for the new batch we'll be seeing this coming Sunday, here's a collection of our favorites from the past. 10. Audi – The Godfather When Audi created this homage to the quintessential gangster movie to promote its newest sports car, the company managed to make a commercial that was simultaneously funny, a little bit disturbing, and most importantly memorable. 9. Maserati – Strike This one might start out slow, but it delivers not only with the wicked sound of the third-generation Ghibli's engine, but with an interesting message about hubris in the auto industry as well. 8. Nissan 300ZX Twin-Turbo – Dream Directed by none other than Ridley Scott (Blade Runner, Alien), this dystopian spot has centers around a narrator who explains that in his dream the bad guys are unable to catch him despite their best efforts by way of street bikes, race cars, and supersonic jets. While the twin-turbocharged 300ZX car was certainly a performance powerhouse to be reckoned with in its day, the concept and execution of this one does come off a little bit campy now – but in a good way. Then again, it is a dream, after all. 7. General Motors – Robot This one is unique in that it's genuinely depressing on a profound level. Who would've thought that the simulated suicide of a lovable, anthropomorphic car-building robot who has fallen on hard times could be such a downer? 6. Nissan – With Dad Although the debut season of its new LMP1 racer didn't exactly turn out how the team hoped it would, there's no denying that Nissan's depiction of a strained father-and-son relationship that eventually leads to redemption (and the introduction of the 2016 Maxima) tugs at the heartstrings. 5. Volkswagen – Big Day A surprisingly poignant advert, this one might be low on dialogue but it certainly gets its message across. And just as the dramatic soundtrack begins to lull the viewer into a sense of security, our expectations are upended. 4.

Junkyard Gem: 1989 Chrysler TC by Maserati

Sun, Nov 27 2022

Lee Iacocca's friendship with Alejandro de Tomaso went way back, and it led to the Ford-powered De Tomaso Pantera being born in 1971 (when Iacocca was running Ford). After Iacocca moved over to head Chrysler in 1978, he began working with de Tomaso (who owned Maserati by that point) to develop a sports coupe based on the Chrysler-salvation K-Car platform. It took quite a while, but eventually that car became reality: the Chrysler TC by Maserati (officially known as Chrysler's TC by Maserati). Some 7,300 were built through 1991, and I've found one of them in a Denver-area car graveyard. I've managed to document four of these cars in their final parking spots prior to this one, in wrecking yards in Colorado, California, and Wisconsin. The Chrysler's TC by Maserati does have a devoted following, but they can't save 'em all. The TC really was assembled by Maserati in Italy, but the underlying chassis was taken from the Dodge Daytona. The body bore a strong resemblance to that of the Chrysler LeBaron GTC, which was unfortunate considering the price difference between the two cars: the MSRP on the 1989 TC was $33,000, while the LeBaron GTC cost $17,435 (that's about $80,880 and $42,730 in 2022 dollars). The TC had three different engines driving the front wheels over its short lifetime: two varieties of turbocharged Chrysler 2.2 four-cylinder (one with 160 horsepower and one with a Cosworth cylinder head with 200 horsepower) and that good old workhorse of a Mitsubishi V6: the 6G72, with 141 horses. This car has the 160hp 2.2. The Cosworth-headed cars (500 were built) got a five-speed manual transmission, but the other 6,800 TCs got a Chrysler slushbox of either three or four speeds (this one is a three-speed). There was a lot of snobbish disapproval of the TC by the automotive press, but just look at that interior! Even the most over-the-top LeBaron never got this level of swank inside.  Every time I write about one of these cars, I hear that the factory hardtop roof is worth fantastic money… but four out of the five examples I've found in junkyards had the hardtop, and I think every single one went to the crusher with its car. How many miles? Not many! Maybe the speedometer cable broke in 1995. The radio and HVAC controls are straight LeBaron, but the wood and leather are the real thing.

UPDATE: Stellantis says it is not selling Maserati

Mon, Jul 29 2024

In a joint statement, Stellantis and Maserati have refuted reports that the Italian brand could be sold: Stellantis has no intention of selling the Trident brand, just as there is no intention of aggregating Maserati within other Italian luxury groups. Stellantis restates its unwavering commitment to Maserati’s bright future as the unique luxury brand within the 14 Stellantis brands. Maserati is in a transition period toward electrification with its Folgore BEV program: today the Trident offers GranTurismo and GranCabrio in ICE and BEV versions, Grecale in ICE, mild-hybrid and BEV versions, while we confirm that successors of the Quattroporte and Levante are also in preparation. Maserati's mission is to write the future of mobility through the best performance in the luxury segment, focusing on the desires of its customers. To achieve its goals, the brand precisely targets a highly specific audience. Maserati is therefore setting up a series of initiatives to expand its presence in the global market, to strengthen its brand image and to underline the uniqueness of its products. Maserati is facing a major challenge and must remain focused on its objectives in the coming months. Stellantis reaffirms its commitment to its entire portfolio of 14 iconic brands and recalls that each of them has a 10-year horizon to build a profitable and sustainable business, while recognizing that market volatility and temporary situations may cause fluctuations. The original story continues: Maserati posted disappointing sales and revenue figures shortly after Stellantis CEO Carlos Tavares warned that the group can't afford to have brands that don't make money. While nothing is set in stone, one of the group's executives said that selling the brand isn't off the table. Industry trade journal Automotive News Europe (subscription required) learned that Maserati sold approximately 6,500 cars globally between January and June 2024, down from around 15,300 units during the same time period in 2023. It posted an adjusted operating loss of ˆ82 million (about $88.7 million) during the first six months of the year, compared to a profit of ˆ121 million (about $130 million) in 2023. "The first half has been disappointing," admitted Natalie Knight, the chief financial officer at Stellantis, on a call with journalists.
