2006 Maserati Quattroporte Grigio Low Miles, Black Interior on 2040-cars
Miami, Florida, United States
Up for Sale is my beautiful 2006 Maserati Quattroporte. Item has been re-listed because buyer showed-up to Miami without a tag, money to pay registration, taxes nor did he possess proof of insurance. If you intend to buy the vehicle you must make all accommodations to pick-up, be able to afford registering the vehicle in your name & show proof of insurance. There is nothing wrong with the car other than the scratches & patch you see in the pictures, there is no "check engine" light on. All warning & caution lights are off, the clutch is in full working condition, does not slip or squawk. The car was just checked-out & serviced at "The Collection" here in Miami prior to me purchasing my new vehicle from Porsche. YOU MUST BE ABLE TO PAY FOR THIS CAR WITHIN 3 DAYS. I DON'T FINANCE OR TRADE, SORRY I AM NOT A CAR DEALERSHIP! The deposit is non-refundable, which means if you fail to pay & pick-up the vehicle within 3days of the auction you don't get it back. This covers my expenses in maintaining & insuring the vehicle while it is waiting to be picked-up. I have a clear, Florida paper title that is signed & ready to go with the vehicle. This car sounds amazing & runs very well. Everything is original Maserati parts except the BMC air filter designed to reduce the effort needed to draw air (a common upgrade among QP owners). The car runs & works beautifully, was just checked-out at the Maserati dealer, had all recalls serviced & installed. I've priced low to sell quickly & hassle-free. I will try to accommodate you as much as I can but cannot take special pictures & I do not give joy rides as the car has been serviced, cleaned & will remain ready for new owner. Vehicle has all booklets, pamphlets & literature included in the car. New 2013 tires are in excellent condition, original wheels & tires are available. This Quattroporte has the DuoSelect Transmission from Ferrari. This is a hydraulically-controlled clutch that is managed by the car's computer system. You can shift using the paddles on the steering wheel or use automatic mode which functions just like a regular transmission. Let me know if you have any questions but like I mentioned, I've priced the car low so I can get rid of it hassle-free. Sold as-is, where-is (South Miami, Florida). This car is a really great machine you will not be dissatisfied! Exterior: Color: Grigio Alfieri Metallic Interior leather: Nero, premium leather Interior FeaturesFront Seats

Stirling Moss-crashed 1956 Maserati 450S to be auctioned in Monaco
Sun, 06 Apr 2014RM Auctions has some very special and expensive Italian sportscars of the 50s and 60s consigned for its auction in Monaco on May 10, but the one that currently carries the highest estimated value at between 4 and 5.5 million euros ($5.5 - $7.5 million) is a 1956 Maserati 450S with some very interesting provenance.
The Maserati started its life as a six-cylinder 350S that Stirling Moss drove in the 1956 Mille Miglia race. Unfortunately, the brakes failed, and it crashed into a tree and nearly into a ravine. Moss and his co-driver weren't injured, but the car was kaputt.
Maserati repaired it and used the chassis as a test mule for its new 5.7-liter V8 racecar called the 450S. It featured an extended wheelbase to fit the larger engine and a new body with a single seat. The racer hit the track again at the hands of Moss and Juan Manuel Fangio in the 1957 Buenos Aires 1000 KM but retired with transmission issues. Later that season, it crashed again at the 1957 Mille Miglia at the hands of driver Jean Behra. After that, the car sat around the workshop until it was sold without an engine in 1965.
Maserati Levante could get a V8 to battle the Cayenne Turbo
Tue, Apr 19 2016Maserati's new Levante crossover is based on the platform shared by the Ghibli and Quattroporte sedans. The Quattroporte's top engine is a 523-horsepower, twin-turbo 3.8-liter V8. When asked if that engine would fit in the Levante, a Maserati engineer gave the answer we were hoping to hear almost immediately. "Yes, it fits, and we have a prototype already," said Davide Danesin, the head of Maserati vehicle programs. The Levante will launch with two models, both of which use the 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6 that Ferrari builds for Maserati, but in two different tunes. The first generation of the V6 launched in the Ghibli and Quattroporte. While the V8 is only currently used in the rear-drive Quattroporte GTS, Danesin assures us that packaging the V8 and an all-wheel-drive system works. There is that prototype, after all. The fact that Danesin volunteered that a V8 prototype exists leads us to believe it's being very seriously considered, since manufacturers reluctantly acknowledge that there will even be a future, let alone one that will bring new, as-yet-unannounced products. Maserati officials caution that it may be tough to make a case for such a vehicle, however, as the over-500-hp SUV segment is pretty small, at about 12,000 units per year by their estimates. It's also relatively crowded, with the logical bogeys being the Porsche Cayenne Turbo (520 hp) and Turbo S (570 hp) and the Range Rover Sport SVR (550 hp). None of them will touch the Levante's upcoming American cousin, the Hellcat-powered Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk, but that's cool. View 21 Photos We'd guess that the yay/nay on a V8 Levante will hinge on the overall popularity of the new model as well as the mix of 345-hp Levante versus 424-hp Levante S models once customers start ordering. Which is to say, if you think you'll want a V8 Levante eventually, get out there and buy a few Levante S models when they hit dealers this October. In other Maserati powertrain news, we're told the second-generation V6, which makes 20 more horsepower in its angriest tune and debuts in the Levante, will show up in the Ghibli and Quattroporte "soon." We'd peg that at mid-cycle refresh time, which should be in a year or so. The second-gen V6 gets its extra power from re-profiled camshafts, some redesign work on the heads, and other tweaks, likely in software. Oh, and for more on the first Maserati crossover and that updated engine, watch for our first drive of the twin-turbo V6 Levante very soon.
Maserati announces the official end of its V8s
Thu, May 11 2023We all knew this was coming. Maserati announced it was going all-electric by 2030, so the end was definitely in sight for the V8. But now it's crystal clear. Maserati will end production of its V8s at the end of this year. The company says that there will still be some V8-powered models on sale into 2024. We're assuming that's based on inventory that may not have yet sold or been delivered by the end of 2023. Maserati will have a little something, though, to celebrate its road-going V8 history, which dates back to 1959 and its 5000 GT coupe. It will launch two special editions, the Ghibli 334 Ultima and the Levante V8 Ultima. These will be revealed in July at the Goodwood Festival of Speed. Those models will join the existing Trofeo versions of the Levante, Ghibli and Quattroporte that are on sale now, all with V8s. Maserati didn't say anything about upgrades to the V8 itself. So presumably, it will remain the familiar twin-turbo 3.8-liter V8 making 572 horsepower that is available in other trims now. Any additional changes to the special edition cars will probably be colors, trimmings and maybe handling tweaks. Even if Maserati wasn't going all-electric, the V8's days were probably numbered. The new top-dog engine is the twin-turbo 3.0-liter V6 used in the Grecale Trofeo and the MC20 supercar. In the MC20, it makes 620 horsepower; more than the V8. But of course, even that new V6's days are numbered. All of Maserati is going electric, and while the internal combustion models aren't being phased out just yet, every model has electric versions on the way under the Folgore name. That includes the mainstream models such as the new Grecale SUV as well as the sports cars including the new GranTurismo and the MC20. Those electric models aren't far away, either. Maserati's goal is to have electric versions of all its models by the end of 2025, and hybridization isn't part of the plan. Related video: This content is hosted by a third party.
