The S4 (and S4S) are arguably the best models of the Lotus Esprit's long production run and this example, a 1994 in attractive red on tan, is a very clean and well-maintained "affordable exotic."

Recent service (July 2014) has included timing belt and tensioner, accessory belts, charge cooler pump rebuild, coolant flush, oil service with 10w60 and a/c service. Ialso sourced and replaced the problematic ABS accumulator and cleaned the pressure switch. Right headlight motor was rebuilt.

This S4 is FAST and drives great. It is mostly stock with a few subtle upgrades that any Esprit owner would want to do, including larger injectors, MSD ignition, new stainless exhaust and K&N cold air intake (the original airbox is included).

Paint and body quality is excellent; some paintwork on the front from a parking lot bump repair several years ago (zero evidence of this, I only know because the previous owner told me about it). All original fiberglass panels, headlights have correct VIN etched in the back, etc.

Interior shows well, new headliner on sunroof panel, leather is in good condition. High-end stereo sounds good and keyless entry has been added, which is a nice convenience.

You'll be hard pressed to find another car in this price range with this type of performance and "head turning" abilities. This example should be turn-key for its new owner with a fresh major service just completed. Buyers Inspection: We have done our best to disclose all information known about this vehicle for auction. We always welcome a buyer’s inspection. Taxes and Registration fees: A dealer documentation, temp tag and vehicle prep fee will be applied to all sales. Appropriate sales tax will be collected from the residents of the state of GA. Out of state buyers are responsible for all state, county, city taxes and fees, as well as title service fees in the state that the vehicle will be registered. All taxes and fees must be paid in full in order for vehicle to be titled and registered.
Title Information: Vehicles titles may be held by banks or lenders as collateral for loans. In many cases there is a delay in receiving the original instruments up to 30 days from the time we pay a vehicle off. While we usually have all titles in our possession at closing, there are occasions where we may be waiting for them to arrive. If payment is made by cashiers check we will hold all titles for 20 days or until funds have cleared.
Shipping & Delivery:
1. All shipping charges are buyer's responsibility. We will help with shipping arrangements but will not be responsible in any way for claims arising from shipping damage!
2. Licensed Carriers are generally insured for $3,000,000.00. We assume no responsibility for damages incurred after the vehicle leaves our showroom. 3. The amount of time it takes for delivery is dependent on the carrier, but is generally 7-14 days from the date the vehicle is picked up from our facility until it is delivered to your destination. Verify with the shipper for an Estimate Time of Arrival to be sure using our zip code 30306.
Finalizing your Purchase:
1. We will contact the successful high bidder by e-mail after the auction closes.
2. Successful high bidder MUST communicate with our Sales Staff by phone at 404-692-5250 within 24 hours of the auction ending to make arrangements to complete their transaction. If we cannot confirm your intention to buy the vehicle within 24 hours of the auction end or the sale is not completed within 24 hours, we reserve the right to relist this vehicle or sell to any other qualified buyer and have no further obligation to previous auction winner.

Lotus reveals extreme new 3-Eleven at Goodwood

Lotus has taken the occasion of the Goodwood Festival of Speed to reveal the new 3-Eleven. Billed as the quickest, most expensive road-going series production Lotus ever, the new 3-Eleven picks up where the previous 2-Eleven left off. And that gave the British automaker quite a starting point. An extreme evolution of the Elise and Exige, the new 3-Eleven boils things down to the bare essentials and packs a mighty punch. It's built around an aluminum chassis with composite bodywork and a completely open cockpit. That gives it a curb weight of less than 2,000 pounds to embody Colin Chapman's ethos of "adding lightness" like no other modern Lotus we've seen yet. At its heart lies an upgraded version of the company's 3.5-liter supercharged V6, producing 450 horsepower and 332 pound-feet of torque. That makes it even more powerful than the new Evora 400, and channels through a six-speed manual transmission, limited slip differential, and traction control. Other features include double wishbone suspension front and rear, Eibach springs, adjustable Ohlins dampers, AP Racing brakes, a Lotus-tuned Bosch ABS, 18-inch alloys up front, 19 inches the rear, shod with Michelin rubber. All of those goodies translate to a 0-60 time of under 3.0 seconds and a top speed of up to 180 miles per hour. It's even quoted to lap the company's test track at Hethel in 1:22. That makes it an impressive ten seconds seconds faster than the aforementioned Evora 400 – which is already six seconds faster around the circuit than the preceding Evora S. Production will be limited to just 311 examples, and is slated to commence in February 2016, with the first deliveries to begin in April. Any potential for North American availability has yet to be announced, but in the UK pricing will start at GBP82,000 (equivalent to $129k at current exchange rates). A more extreme Race version will be offered alongside the Road model, priced at GBP96,000 ($150k) before taxes or GBP115,000 ($180k) with, upgrading with track-focused features like a more aggressive aero kit, six-point racing harness, and a six-speed sequential gearbox.

Lotus signs joint venture agreement with China's Goldstar

Lotus and China's Goldstar Heavy Industrial Company are forming a joint venture that will bring the historic British sports-car maker into the country. "The collaboration seeks to accelerate the development of Lotus cars in the premium sports segment in China," according to the announcement. The JV will include research projects on efficient and advanced technology, and ultimately lead to sales of cars there, Lotus said. China's auto market is no longer experiencing the double-digit growth of the past, but it still continues to expand. Meanwhile, Lotus saw sales jump 55 percent in the last fiscal year and it opened 36 new dealers, according to CEO Jean-Marc Gales. The joint venture announcement also hints at the possibility of Chinese-made models, but it shouldn't dilute the brand. Lotus is clear that core vehicles like the Evora, Exige and Elise would remain exclusively in production at the headquarters in Hethel, England. Just a couple years ago, Lotus appeared to be on its deathbed after losing a quarter of its workforce, but since that setback the company has started to crawl back. PROTON, LOTUS GROUP AND GOLDSTAR SIGNED JV AGREEMENT KUALA LUMPUR – PROTON Holdings Berhad ("PROTON") the ultimate holding company of Lotus Group, announced that it has signed a Joint Venture ("JV") Agreement with Lotus Group International Limited, United Kingdom ("Lotus Group") and Goldstar Heavy Industrial Co. Ltd. ("Goldstar") for a possible business expansion of Lotus cars in the People's Republic of China. The collaboration seeks to accelerate the development of Lotus cars in the premium sports segment in China, leveraging on the incentives offered by the Fujian Provincial Government. Both PROTON and Lotus Group are subsidiaries of DRB-HICOM Berhad. Signing on behalf of PROTON was the Honourable Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad, Chairman of PROTON and former Prime Minister of Malaysia and witnessed by Dato' Abdul Harith Abdullah, Chief Executive Officer of PROTON.
