Racing Red Lotus Convertible, Low Mileage on 2040-cars
Tyler, Texas, United States

You are looking at a beautiful Race Red, extremely low-mile (3,058) 2006 Lotus Elise that I purchased in 2010 from a friend. He purchased it in 2009 to complete the detail & paint work after the front and rear cams were replace. Front & rear damage was light enough to not deploy airbags. I think the mileage is correct but the carfax gave it a "red ligh;" there was no need to make changes to the odometer reading since it was damaged. I had the intention of making it a track car so I installed K&N Engine cold air performance intake kit, driver's racing harness, and G Force chip. It drives too nice!! So I decided not to race but drive it on occasions to Cruise Night, Car Shows and a couple cruises instead since I have the only Elise in town. It has never been in the rain since I have owned; always hangared. This car is clean and priced to sell so if you have questions, which if you are bidding I am sure you do, call me Ron at 903-714-8288.
Vehicle experience light damage on front and rear clams - professionally repaired. Bought new in California, shipped to Texas. Cashier's Check for payment, FOB Tyler, Texas. $500 deposit to hold vehicle until inspection is done. |

Elise Time Attack could be most extreme Lotus yet
Mon, 07 Jul 2014The Lotus Elise has given birth to some seriously fast and varied machinery. Aside from Lotus' own models like the Exige, 2-Eleven, 340R and Europa, electric vehicles like the Tesla Roadster, not to mention the never-released Dodge Circuit and Detroit Electric SP:01, are all based on the Elise's platform. As were/are the Melkus RS 2000, the Opel Speedster/Vauxhall VX220 and the Hennessey Venom GT. But this could be the most extreme use of the lightweight chassis yet.
This Series 1 Elise has been built by one performance-obsessed Brit with a single purpose: to compete in the UK's Time Attack championship. For those unfamiliar, Time Attack is something like a rally or a hillclimb event, only it takes place on a racing circuit. Each vehicle goes out on the track by itself and sets the best time it can, without needing to worry about other competitors until the finish line is crossed and it's the next racer's turn. That's what drove Lee to modify his Lotus so thoroughly, with more wings, diffusers, flaps and carbon fiber than a Boeing factory. Check it out in the video below.
Recap: 2013 Spanish Grand Prix is Catalan for 'Lottery' and 'More pit stops'
Tue, 14 May 2013This year's Formula One season might qualify as being just as crazy as last year's, only it's a different kind of crazy. Instead of a new winner every Sunday, how the winner actually manages to take the victory is the mystery, and just when we thought the season might have settled into a groove regarding team performance, here comes the Spanish Grand Prix to remind us that we don't know anything until the race has been run.
There were many similarities to past weekends to being this one: Mercedes-AMG Petronas showed awesome one-lap pace, Fernando Alonso did well enough in qualifying to get fifth on the grid but talked up the race pace of the Ferrari, Kimi Räikkönen was the equivalent of a racing photobomber, never saying much but always showing up in the picture, Felipe Massa wasn't really big on the tires and McLaren might want to consider starting a blues band they spend so much time singing them.
Then the lights went green and things went nuts...
Xcar tosses the Lotus Evora 400 around in the rain
Sat, Aug 1 2015Lotus appears to be blooming again after a rocky period, and the company is launching the Evora 400 here in December for $89,900. Xcar just got a hold of one of these updated coupes on a rainy day to find out if it can be a Porsche competitor. With 400 horsepower, the aptly named Evora 400 tops the Porsche Cayman GT4 by 15 ponies, and with a purported sprint to 60 miles per hour in 4.1 seconds, the Lotus also nudges out the Porsche by a tenth of a second. So on paper, the two coupes are quite comparable. Of course, Xcar also digs deep into more subjective factors, like how it actually feels behind the wheel. If you think you prefer a little more wind in your hair, the company is developing an Evora 400 roadster, too. Rather than an actual droptop, the roof will reportedly consist of two, removable carbon-fiber panels. It'll arrive on these shores in the coming years as part of Lotus' re-emergence.
