2005 Lotus Elise, Ardent Red with Tan leather interior. It currently has just under 51,200 but I may still put a few miles on. When new it was advertised with a 0-60 of 4.6 seconds with the sport package. Clear title. The car does have some nicks and scratches from daily driving duties. We had his and hers Elises and after daily driving the first once since 07 and then this one, its time to move on. The wheels are painted gold. They weren't done flawlessy but they look decent. I wasn't sure about the color, nor was I sure about powder coating forged aluminum so I tried the color in paint. The color looks sharp in person and makes the car unique to other Elises. If you don't like it, its easy to strip. There is a small fiberglass crack inside the 'mouth' area just below one of the driving lights. The rockers should also be painted because of chips, just before the rear tires. There is also a scratch behind the passenger side window that has been touched up. The car has only been serviced with synthetic oil while in my possesion and it has been done within the last thousand miles. I just had a set of brand new tires put on this past Thursday and a new head unit installed last week with a USB port and jack as well as Pandora control for your phone. The car has a soft top only and it is the thicker padded version. I personally would drive this car any distance with only a concern about comfort. That being said, it does not come with any warranty- Sold as-is. It has never let us down and continues to provide a smile even on the worst of days. The car is currently financed through USAA and has a PA title- it would take a week or two to recieve the title from the state. The car is currently in Pensacola Florida and garage kept. Not 100% sure why I am selling it to be honest other than to maybe try a car that doesn't get quite so much attention. After experiencing a majority of the sports and exotics out there, there isn't one as raw as this for the street and with a body.

Lotus Exige S Roadster coming this summer to a circuit near you
Wed, 01 May 2013We haven't heard much about the Lotus Exige S Roadster since we first saw it at the Geneva Motor Show last year, but Lotus is now confirming the car will go on sale this summer. Of course, unless anything has changed since the car was introduced, Lotus' "ultimate roadster" will still not be coming to the US.
Lotus has released a new video showing its 345-horsepower roadster in action, and while it doesn't even show that much of the car, you can check out our live images of the Exige S Roadster in our gallery. The video, which looks like a knockoff of a Universal Studios movie trailer, is posted below.
F1 just got a whole lot quieter, and some people are really unhappy about it
Tue, Mar 18 2014The scene is the front straight of the Albert Park Circuit at the Australian Formula One Grand Prix, and what you see on track on either side of the gentleman wearing the orange hat is a Mercedes AMG Petronas being followed by a Lotus. The first major clue, as should be obvious by the nose of the Mercedes, is that this scene was captured last year. The other major clue in the photo is the gentleman in the orange hat: he's wearing earmuffs to silence the noise. We count at least four people wearing them, and that's before the camera pans. Some F1 fans have been pleased with the sound of the new 1.6-liter V6 engines, but it appears that the majority are not; the organizers of the Australian Grand Prix are threatening to sue because of a "lack of sexiness," and F1 impresario Bernie Ecclestone has declared he was "horrified by the lack of [noise]." YouTube user krookzeh has posted a video comparing last year's 2.4-liter V8 cars on the first lap at Albert Park with the new turbo V6 cars on the first lap this year. You can compare the sounds and the number of earmuffs in the short clip below. This content is hosted by a third party. To view it, please update your privacy preferences. Manage Settings. Turns out the 2020 Lotus Evora GT is one of the best sounding cars on sale
Fri, Jun 19 2020Toyota has built plenty of engines that sound the business. We know the company has it in them, but what comes out isn’t always enthusiast-focused. Yet, hereÂ’s a fairly normal Toyota 3.5-liter V6, sitting in the middle of a Lotus. YouÂ’ll find it under the hood of a Toyota Camry, but here it is sitting under the engine cover of this 2020 Lotus Evora GT. Of course, Lotus hasnÂ’t dropped the engine in there without Lotus-fying it. This one has an Edelbrock supercharger with an integrated water-to-air charge cooler, plus a special calibration and tune from Lotus. In the Toyota, the base engine makes 301 horsepower. This Evora GT is putting out 416 horsepower and 317 pound-feet of torque. It also breathes through a set of pipes that the Brits would call ace. Check out the video at the top to get a taste of what we heard for a week straight. Our Evora GT was equipped with the standard exhaust. ThereÂ’s an optional titanium exhaust that drops 22 pounds from the curb weight, but Lotus says that it doesnÂ’t actually sound all that different. What does make a difference in the sound is changing the drive mode. ThereÂ’s a valve that opens in the exhaust when you select Sport mode or press the exhaust button. This drastically changes the sound heard from the cabin. In normal Drive mode, the exhaust is muted and just hanging out in the background. ItÂ’s shockingly quiet, but perfect for highway cruising because the drone goes away. Sport mode completely changes the tone and unlocks a sweet wail we didnÂ’t know the Toyota V6 had within it. ThereÂ’s no computer-enhanced or synthesized noises to be heard here. ItÂ’s all real. Taking it one step further in Race mode unlocks the tiniest bit more noise, Lotus says, but itÂ’s hardly noticeable in practice. We found the best experience was in Sport mode, since that reigns in traction control, retains stability control, and boosts throttle response by a bit. 2020 Lotus Evora GT View 6 Photos Under tunnels and overpasses — and this does feel weird to say, knowing the engineÂ’s origins — thereÂ’s a hint of Formula one car sound in there. WeÂ’re talking F1 from a few years ago, not the boring turbo engines of today. The way it shrieks and screams off walls, completely immersing you in the echoing sound, is intoxicating. Very few cars can match the Evora in sound quality, and thatÂ’s impressive considering some of the noisemakers car companies put out these days.
