1988 Lincoln Town Car Signature Series. The car is equipped with a 5.0 (302 cubic inch) engine and automatic transmission. The car is dark blue with dark blue velour interior. The car is an untouched original with the exception of a touch up of a scratch on one quarter panel 20 years ago. My grandfather bought the car new in the Fall of 1987. The car has been garage kept since new and only saw snow a few times. The body and paint are still very nice and the padded leather top is in exceptional condition. The chrome on the car is still very nice with the exception of the rear bumper. The rear bumper has a few blisters. The underside of the car is still very nice. The interior is like new with the exception of the the front arm rests on the door panels. They have started to crack at the rear corners. The trunk is like new. The car has 63, 700 miles. The engine runs good and the transmission shifts good. The car has sat more than it ran since my grandfather passed away nearly eight years ago. I drove the car around the block today and did notice one brake grabbing a little. The car has Michelin tires that are better than 50%. The wire wheels have some corrosion, but I have a complete set that is like new that I will include with the car. The winning bidder is responsible for pick up/shipping. The car will not leave my possession until all funds clear unless you are paying cash in person. Good luck.

Ford's Galhotra succeeds Farley as head of Lincoln
Wed, 23 Jul 2014Ford Motor Company is announcing a major personnel shakeup that could have a dramatic effect on the future of the Lincoln division. Kumar Galhotra (pictured above), currently vice president of engineering at Ford for all of its vehicles worldwide, is taking over as the president of the luxury brand on September 1, replacing Jim Farley. The automaker is also hiring a new head of advanced engineering.
Galhotra has a huge job ahead of him as the new boss of Lincoln worldwide, overseeing product development, marketing, sales and service. His task is to turn the luxury division into a world-class brand as quickly as possible, and he reports directly to Ford President and CEO Mark Fields.
"These changes underscore our commitment to build on the success of our One Ford plan by accelerating our pace of progress. They also make clear we are serious about Lincoln as a world-class luxury brand and that product excellence and innovation are what will deliver growth and define our entire company going forward," said Fields in the company's announcement.

Ford recalling 205k Edge and Lincoln MKX units for possible corrosion
Thu, 30 Oct 2014After the horrible weather last winter, it's hard to look forward for the season to return this year. For those readers in much of the country, the snow is going to be flying soon, and with it comes salt on the roads. That means Ford's regional recall for the 2007-2008 Edge and Lincoln MKX arrives at the perfect time because they are at risk for corrosion.
The campaign covers 204,448 examples of the models in 21 states, plus the District of Columbia and some provinces of Canada. In total there are 186,024 vehicles in need of repair in the US and 18,424 in Canada.
According to Ford, it's possible for the area, "under the reinforcement brackets where the fuel tank is mounted" to corrode. If this happens, there might be a gas smell in the vehicle or even a fuel leak could develop. In fact, the automaker reports that one fire could be related to the problem but no injuries or accidents are reported.
