You are looking at a 1988 Lincoln Town Car Limousine. I received the car from my Grandfathers estate about a year ago. Based on the information that I found in the glove box, the vehicle was in service as a limousine on the east coast. My Grandfather purchased the vehicle and drove it back to Michigan. The car has been stored in a pole barn at his house. Since I have had it, I have had it stored in a portable garage in my driveway. My initial idea was to restore the vehicle, but I do not have the time or the place to do it. I did however, remove the vinyl top that was dry rotted and noticed that there was some rusted areas that needed some attention. I did replace the rear window and have done some fiberglass and bondo repairs around the new window. The engine runs well and all of the fluids were replaced when I got the car. The brakes work great. The transmission was not shifting into overdrive and I had it checked out at our local transmission shop. I was told that the transmission needed to be rebuilt and that the more I drove it the worse it would get. At that point I stopped driving the car. Other than the top, the body and undercarriage looks good, as do the tires and wheels. The air conditioning needs to be recharged and I do not know if there is any leaks in the system. The 5.0 V8 is the same engine used in Ford Mustangs. This vehicle is for pick up only, no delivery. I also included a picture of the vehicle before I removed the vinyl top. Thank you for checking it out.

Ford's struggles in China continue as November sales drop 8 percent
Mon, Dec 11 2017Ford's sales in China fell 8 percent in November from a year ago, following a 5 percent decline in October, the U.S. automaker said on Monday. The firm's sales in the first 11 months of the year totaled 1.06 million vehicles, down 6 percent from the same period a year ago. Ford's China sales growth has lagged behind rivals in the world's top auto market this year, with the carmaker now looking to overhaul its strategy to revive growth in China under new chief executive Jim Hackett. Among other moves, the review of its China operations will likely see Ford focus on segments such as electric cars and electric commercial vans, with China encouraging to help clean up its polluted and congested city centers. Ford is looking to roll out more new-energy vehicles for China and is planning to experiment with a more direct selling approach in a partnership with Chinese e-commerce giant Alibaba Group Holding Ltd. Ford recalls 650,000 trucks and SUVs for defective wipers
Thu, Apr 21 2022Ford announced earlier this month that it is recalling 652,996 F-Series pickups, Expeditions and Lincoln Navigators produced for the 2020 and 2021 model years to address an issue that may cause their windshield wipers to separate, reducing visibility and leading to potentially hazardous driving conditions. According to the Blue Oval, one of its suppliers used worn tooling components that resulted in wiper arms being produced with splines that are not tall enough to fully engage the motor pivots they're mounted to, which can cause the connection to strip when the motors are turned on. This could result in the wiper arms not moving at all, or engaging only intermittently. "Worn wiper arm spline tooling core inserts at the supplier resulted in insufficient spline tooth height, which can cause the arm attachment to strip when used with a certain wiper motors with higher torque," Ford said in its defect report to NHTSA. "Potential symptoms include erratic or slow wipe speed of the driver or passenger wiper arm. An improper functioning wiper arm may potentially result in reduced visibility in certain conditions, which could increase the risk of a crash." Ford says the vehicles were not produced in VIN order, so while not all of the nearly 653,000 vehicles have bad wiper arms, they're all suspect until proven safe. Ford will notify owners of the recall campaign starting in May. Related video: This content is hosted by a third party. To view it, please update your privacy preferences. Manage Settings.
