Rare 1979 Lincoln Collector's Series Mark V With NO RESERVE Rare Collector's Series with 84k original miles, 400 V8. Options include quarter windows that lower and raise before main window, tilt steering wheel, remote trunk release and automatic dimming headlights. Mechanical: since I've had the Lincoln I've done a recent full tuneup, radiator hoses and water pump, new brakes, new tires and new shocks all around. I had the a/c retrofitted for modern freon, it blows nice and cold. The engine is smooth, you don't feel the car running when you're stopped at a light and the transmission shifts perfectly. The driver's power seat will need a new switch, the dash lights quit a few months ago and the headlight doors raise after the car has been parked for a couple of hours. I bought the Lincoln about two years ago with the intention of making her perfect but now I'm selling her due to financial constraints, I've got over $7k invested. Cosmetics: the interior is decent, no tears on the seats and the dash and door panels are in good condition. The moonroof was installed by the previous owner and is fixed in place, the headliner needs to be reinstalled, it's in the trunk. The vinyl top and padding on the trunk are in good shape, one small tear on the trunk vinyl not visible in the pix, the opera light lens on the driver's side will need to be replaced. The paint is original but still shines up well. The chrome on the bumpers shines up nicely, no dull spots, dents or peeling anywhere. Engine starts easily, cruises nicely on the highway, holds the road effortlessly with no wandering. Runs very strong and brakes evenly with the four wheel disc brakes, no pulling or fading. She idles perfectly, shifts smoothly, stops easily and the suspension is luxurious. Drives overall like a classic American luxury cruiser should, it handles well considering its size. All directional/brake/turn signal/headlights, wipers and cruise control all work. I reserve the right to end the auction early as the Lincoln is for sale locally and I'm open to reasonable buy it now offers as well, I'm a motivated seller. I can assist with shipping in the USA or internationally if necessary, cost of shipping to paid by buyer. If you need it I can recommend a door to door auto shipper I've used many times in the past; they're professional, reliable and have great rates. This is a NO RESERVE auction, top bidder gets her! Nice classic Lincoln which will only appreciate in value! Any questions feel free to call or email. 914-224-3230 |

2020 Lincoln Aviator Review and Buying Guide | All-American sophistication
Fri, Apr 12 2019The new 2020 Lincoln Aviator lands into one of the hottest luxury segments – three-row family crossovers – and is not only an incredibly relevant product, but a fully competitive and appealing one too. It all starts with a uniquely characterful interior that's likely to earn the Aviator a fair share of takers by itself. Then there's the exterior styling, which is long and sleek with a tapered roofline courtesy of new rear-wheel-drive architecture developed in concert for the Aviator and also-new Ford Explorer. The two vehicles share common bones, but the skin and muscle are quite different. Emphasis on muscle, too, because the Aviator's powertrain options utterly blow away its competition (a 400-horsepower turbo V6 and the Grand Touring's 494-hp plug-in hybrid). However, despite those eye-popping performance numbers, don't expect the Aviator to be a firm-riding, sport-tuned SUV. All that power is there if you need it, but it's part of an overall competent, composed driving experience rather than one thatÂ’s tightly wound and over-caffeinated. Frankly, it's a recipe that should make a lot of sense to American luxury buyers. If you're looking for a big, luxurious family vehicle, put it on your shopping list. What's new for 2020? The Aviator is an all-new model that slots into a previously unfilled slot in the Lincoln lineup between the five-passenger Nautilus and full-size, truck-based Navigator. 2020 Lincoln Aviator Interior View 9 Photos What's the interior and in-car technology like? No other company's interiors look anything like the mid-century-inspired palace of cool you get in the Aviator. All versions are available with distinctive color schemes shown above, but the Black Label trim level stands out the most with its three available "themes" of "Chalet," "Flight" and "Destination" that get special colors and trim types. Perhaps the quality of some plastics and the fit-and-finish aren't up to Mercedes or BMW levels, but everything looks so special that it makes up whatever deficit exists. Most competitors just seem drab and generic by comparison. In terms of technology, every 2020 Aviator comes standard with a 10-inch touchscreen mounted so high on the dash and close to the driver that it actually seems larger. It runs the Lincoln-skinned version of Ford's Sync 3 interface, which is generally user friendly, though it perhaps doesn't look as cool and sophisticated as the all-digital gauge cluster (or the interfaces of rivals).
Ford recalls Explorer and Lincoln MKC for fire hazard
Thu, Mar 31 2016The Basics: Ford will recall 5,536 examples of the 2016 Explorer and 2015-2016 Lincoln MKC. The Explorers have build dates between October 20, 2014, and January 28, 2016, at the Chicago Assembly Plant. The MKCs are from between November 25, 2013, and January 25, 2016, at the Louisville Assembly Plant. In total, there are 3,129 total affected examples of the 2015-2016 Lincoln MKC and 2,407 examples of the 2016 Ford Explorer. Of these, 1,543 are in the US and 3,993 are in Canada. The Problem: The combination of the engine block design and the block heater in these vehicles can cause the part to overheat when plugged in. Injuries/Deaths: None reported, but there are two cases of underhood fires in Canada. If you own one: Ford will begin notifying owners during the week of May 16, company spokesperson John Cangany tells Autoblog. Related Video: Ford issues safety recall for certain 2015-2016 Lincoln MKC and 2016 Ford Explorer vehicles to replace engine block heaters Ford is issuing a safety recall for approximately 5,500 2015-2016 Lincoln MKC and 2016 Ford Explorer vehicles to remove the heaters and replace them with an updated design. The engine block design, coupled with the particular block heater installed in these vehicles, causes the unit to be susceptible to overheating when the vehicle is parked and the block heater is plugged in –increasing the risk of an underhood fire. Ford is aware of two reports of underhood fires in Canada, but is not aware of any accidents or injuries related to this issue. Affected vehicles include certain 2015-2016 Lincoln MKC vehicles built at Louisville Assembly Plant, Nov. 25, 2013 through Jan. 25, 2016 and certain 2016 Ford Explorer vehicles built at Chicago Assembly Plant, Oct. 20, 2014 through Jan. 28, 2016. There are 5,536 vehicles affected by the issue, including 3,129 2015-2016 Lincoln MKC and 2,407 2016 Ford Explorer vehicles, with 1,543 of the affected vehicles in the United States and federalized territories and 3,993 in Canada. Dealers will remove and replace the engine block heater with an updated design and, if needed, replace the cord at no cost to the customer.
