Beautiful, great running and driving, near rust free (very minor on rear external fenders only), accident free, desert Southwest, tastefully modded/rodded (easily reversible), 1971 Lincoln Continental Mark III coupe. This is a very straight last-year (1968-1971) Mark III with rock-solid bones and some electrical/cosmetic issues. None of them affect its ability to be driven and enjoyed today. And 1971 was the last model year before major pollution control/engine strangulation occurred in 1972 domestic cars so the 460 V8 still puts out 365 horsepower in stock form (probably more now with its minor upgrades).

The exterior is in very solid, original condition. Paint is faded but there are no signs of accident repair anywhere. Formerly dry and brittle (a curse of our dry climate) vinyl top has been removed and roof has been repainted black. It looks pretty good actually. All trim is in place and in good shape other than a missing hood ornament. Very minor rust is confined to a small portion of rear external (internal fenders are great) fenders only (see pics). Undercarriage is in excellent shape (see pics). Only external modification is 17 inch American Racing wheels all around. I think they look impressive.

The interior is the roughest part of this otherwise sweet Lincoln. The sun has made the leather brittle and cracked (see pics). The dash cover has suffered the same fate (see pics). Door panels still look pretty good. Headliner has been removed. Front carpet is still decent but rear carpet has been removed, It's in the trunk and can be used as a pattern. Seat belts and lower seat molding are also in trunk. They are in good shape and can be easily re-installed. All gauges work except clock and ALT gauge. Windows and power seats do not work. New front window regulators are included in the sale. Air conditioning works properly (thank goodness). Stereo has been removed by a prior owner but dash is uncut and unbutchered (see pics). Column shift is a little loose but works properly. Only non-stock interior item is wood-rimmed Grant steering wheel.

Running gear is excellent and clearly a strength (along with the body). It has the 460 engine, C6 automatic transmission, and 9 inch rear differential. Body probably has 141k but I'm sure the engine has been rebuilt. Mods are confined to an Edelbrock air intake, Carter Competition Series carb and Flowmaster style dual exhaust. Battery is near new. Heater core has been bypassed and radiator has a pinhole leak. Front end has been rebuilt with new bushings and shocks. It drives solidly with no rattles or clunks. Vacuum headlights go up and down properly. Tires are cracking from the sun. Again, she runs and drives very nicely.

My name is Chris and I am happy to answer your questions. Please call me at 435-669-1470. I also have additional pictures that show every nook and cranny in detail. Send me your email address and I'll get them to you. And this beautiful Lincoln is almost ready to enjoy today so you may want to consider flying in and driving home. That would be a cool adventure and I'd be happy to help facilitate it. This awesome 1971 Continental Mark III is located in the dry, desert community of Hurricane, Utah (a little over 100 miles north of Las Vegas). Good luck and good bidding.

2021 Lincoln Nautilus scores Top Safety Pick rating from IIHS

Wed, Aug 25 2021

A new set of standard headlights has lifted the 2021 Nautilus to an Insurance Institute for Highway Safety Top Safety Pick nod, Lincoln and the IIHS announced Wednesday.  The rating accounts for an improved set of LED projector headlights that were made available for 2021. IIHS says the new hardware significantly reduces glare, improving their score dramatically. The upgraded lamps are offered on Black Label models and Reserve models equipped with Ultimate package, provided they were assembled after March of this year. Since the standard headlights are still saddled with a "Poor" rating, the Nautilus doesn't qualify for Top Safety Pick+; IIHS reserves that designation for vehicles that ace all of its crashworthiness, score an "Advanced" or better in its accident avoidance tests, and come equipped with "Acceptable" or better headlights on all available trims.  Both the standard and optional safety systems on the Nautilus scored high marks, and it received the highest possible rating in each crash test.  Related Video This content is hosted by a third party. 2022 Lincoln Navigator revealed with tech updates, hands-free driving, new Black Label themes

Wed, Aug 18 2021

Last week, Lincoln Motor Company teased its updated, enhanced and even more upscale Navigator SUV for the 2022 model year. Today, Ford’s luxury brand has unveiled this mid-cycle refresh with improved technology — including the Lincoln ActiveGlide hands-free driving system and over-the-air software updates — plus two new available themes for the line-topping Black Label trim level. Starting with tech, Lincoln launches the first iteration of its ActiveGlide advanced driver assistance tech, which, like FordÂ’s new BlueCruise technology, allows for hands-free highway driving if the right conditions are met. It leverages adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go capability, lane centering and traffic sign recognition to allow for hands-free driving on over 130,000 miles of divided highways across North America. Similar to GMÂ’s Super Cruise system, ActiveGlide monitors the driverÂ’s head and eye positions with a driver-facing camera to unsure their attention remains on the road ahead of them, ready to take over driving functions if need be. The 2022 Navigator also employs Lincoln Enhance, which is the branded name for its over-the-air software update capability. This allows Lincoln to make improvements, install new features and even provide some preventative maintenance without it needing to be brought in for service. Lincoln promises this allows the “Navigator to get even better over time.” This content is hosted by a third party. To view it, please update your privacy preferences. Manage Settings. Lincoln says it has streamlined its Amazon Alexa experience to respond to more natural language. You can use Alexa in the car the way you normally would with the digital assistant, or you can connect the Lincoln Way app for Alexa to control certain car features — locks, remote start, checking on vehicle status — from your Alexa-enabled home or mobile device. The 2022 Navigator also benefits from AmazonÂ’s Fire TV service for the rear-seat entertainment. It even includes 16 GB of built-in storage so you can watch your favorite Prime Video content on the road without connectivity. ThereÂ’s an updated Sync 4 infotainment system with a larger 13.2-inch center screen, improved voice recognition and navigation, and a Constellation design theme that carries over to the digital instrument cluster and the refreshed head-up display. In the second row, occupants now have a digital control module for rear climate and audio settings.

These are the slowest-selling new cars of 2024

Fri, Apr 26 2024

While overall sales numbers are a solid indicator of an automaker’s success, another metric can show how well its new vehicles resonate with buyers on the ground. iSeeCars recently released a list of the fastest- and slowest-selling new car companies on the market, and a handful of brands appear to have some catching up to do. Lincoln landed the “top spot” among slow-selling brands, taking an average of 82.6 days to move inventory. Infiniti wasnÂ’t much better, at 79.8 days, and Buick came third with 79 days to sell.  Slowest-selling new cars of 2024 Lincoln: 82.6 days to sell Infiniti: 79.8 Buick: 79 Audi: 75.1 Ram: 69.7 Ford: 68.1 Dodge: 67.4 GMC: 66.6 Acura: 65.4 Lexus: 64.5 iSeeCars executive analyst Karl Brauer noted that the fastest-selling brands, which include Toyota, Alfa Romeo, and Cadillac, likely move inventory because they resonate with buyersÂ’ desire for value and a compelling product. The study also noted that seeing GMC, Ford, and Ram so low on the list likely indicates slowing truck sales, which comprise a significant portion of those brandsÂ’ numbers. ItÂ’s also possible that buyers are turned off by higher prices from those brands. Fast-selling new car brands also appeared on the used car list, where Honda, Lexus, and Toyota dominated. Unfortunately for Lincoln, it also made the slow-selling used list, between Maserati as the slowest and Alfa Romeo in third. iSeeCarsÂ’ analysis also examined EV and hybrid sales and found that hybrids tend to sell much faster than their electric counterparts. In March 2024, new hybrids took an average of 49.5 days to sell, while EVs took 70.6 days. That again brings us to the price and value arguments, where hybrids are significantly less expensive than EVs, though charging and range concerns also likely play a role.
