History: The magic of a name: Lincoln. It stand's for one thing, American luxury. But in the 1980's Lincoln decided to get serious about performance as well. Out came the sporty yet luxurious LSC model. LSC stand for Luxury Sport Coupe and they weren't kidding. Step on the gas and off it goes! This particular Mark VII LSC belonged to my grandfather. He bought it new in March of 1990 at Brian Bemis Lincoln-Mercury in Sycamore Illinois. He had several cars in his collection and none of them accumulated many miles. This was one of his favorites.

My Auction: I will attempt to describe this fine automobile to the best of my ability. All used cars have flaws, especially 23 year old ones so please be realistic in your expectations. I will point out anything that stands out or that you can't see in the pictures as I believe anyone who doesn't isn't being thorough with their auction. Please ask all questions BEFORE you bid. Please view the link to over 100 additional pictures I have posted on www.flickr.com before you bid, some of them have captions and I want you to know exactly what you are getting. Please read my entire auction carefully BEFORE you bid. Also please be respectful of my auction, these cost real money that I have to work hard for just like you do. Please make sure you have the money in place BEFORE you bid and that you have asked you significant other or whoever you need permission from to purchase an automobile before you bid. I will not cancel your bid for any reason or excuse you give me so if you are one of those guys please don't bid on my auction. Thanks and good luck bidding!

Link to over 150 pictures: http://www.flickr.com/photos/102166492@N02/  If you click on the individual photos they will get larger. Next click on the diagonal arrows icon that is second from the right. This will supersize the pictures and you can now use the left and right arrows on either side of the screen to scroll through the pictures. Also before you supersize the photos scroll through them and you can see the captions this way.

Exterior Condition: This Mark VII LSC is absolutely stunning in Electric Currant Red Metallic over Burgundy hides. The paint shines like a mirror. The car was recently repainted in the correct factory color by a family friends shop because someone scratched it. All of the windows, trim, emblems, and lights were removed. Templates were even made for the emblems as to ensure they went back in the exact right spots. Overall this is a very good paint job with no tape lines or over spray. It does have some flaws a body man would notice under fluorescent lights but the layman would never notice them and out in the sunlight it looks like a million bucks. I have been driving this car around and I am here to tell you people go nuts over it. It has no rust on it. I even took pictures under the doors to show how rust free it is. This car has never been in an accident and it has all of its original VIN tags on all of the body panels. It has a clean Autocheck report also. There is not a single dent or door ding in the car. The rest of the exterior is consistent with the age of the car. It is not perfect but nice. The tires all match and have a fair amount of tread but should be replaced because they are dry rotted. All of the rubber door and trunk seals look new. The rubber dew wipes on the windows are dry and cracking. The trunk carpet looks brand new and has no stains or wear. There are no stone chips in the glass. There are no dings or scrapes on the rubber bumper inserts. The headlights are clear and all lenses are crack free.

Interior Condition: The interior is really the strong point of this car. It looks absolutely brand new. I don't think it can reasonably be faulted. This car has the perforated sport seats which are a nice option. If you are looking at LSC's you know how hard it is to find the sport seats in good condition. All the functions work on the seats including the power bolsters and power lumbar support. The seats do not have any cracks or seam separation. The leather is soft and looks new. I don't think anyone ever sat in the back seat. The headliner looks new and does not have any sags. The truly amazing part is the carpet even looks new right down to the floor mats. Even the drivers floor mat does not have the heel mark most cars get by the gas pedal. There are no stains or wear marks to the carpet. The cupholders work properly with no cracked parts. The center armrest leather looks new as well as the steering wheel leather. No one has ever smoked or eaten in this car.

Mechanically: This Lincoln runs and drives great! And oh boy does it sound amazing! It is quiet but it still has that wonderful V8 sound that you can only get from the 5.0. These Mark VII's are often referred to as the gentleman's Mustang since they have the same engine as a Mustang. The car rides nice with no odd noises from the suspension, is tight, and it shifts smoothly through the gears like it is supposed to. The brakes have a nice feel and the car does not pull when you step on the brakes. This car was driven very little by my grandfather the last couple years so we checked it over and did a bunch of preventative maintenance as well as corrected anything we found deficient.

Recent Maintenance:

-Brand New Battery
-New brake pads at all 4 corners
-New rear brake calipers on both sides
-New front brake calipers on both sides
-Brake fluid flushed with Ford Dot 4 fluid
-New spark plugs
-New throttle body gaskets
-New fuel filter
-New fuel pump and sock (very important)
-New wiper blades
-Oil and filter changed 10 miles ago
-This one is really important: This car has the metal bushing update on the TV cable. This was done preventatively because the stock plastic bushing can dry up and crack and fall off. When this happens you will blow your transmission in about a mile. This is a simple update that was done to this car and I would never own a Mark that didn't have it done.
-Also this is another big one: The window motors have been rebuilt on both sides. They have all new gears in them and will last a long time. Just look how many Marks are for sale with power windows that don't work.
-The last really big one: The air ride suspension does not leak in this car! Not even a little bit. I went on vacation for 2 weeks, came back and the car had not sunk a millimeter. My grandfather said he had the rear air bags replaced a few years ago. It is really important when shopping for a Mark VII to know the air suspension works properly.

There are no warning lights illuminated on the dash. The air conditioning blows cold and the heat is hot. I would not hesitate to drive this car cross country. There are only 2 things I can find wrong with it. The drivers power door lock does not work. It works when you manually unlock it with the key just no power. The passenger lock works as it should and the keypad on the door does all the functions as it should except for the drivers door power lock. Also sometimes barely any sound comes from the radio. It lights up and all of the buttons work but you can barley hear it. Then other times it works fine. The tape player works too. I think there may be a loose wire somewhere possibly to the amplifier? I really don't know anything about car radios.

Additional Notes:

-This Lincoln is sold as-is with no warranty expressed or implied.

-I have the original clean and clear Illinois title in my late Grandfathers name and he has signed off on it. If you live in a state that requires a notary obviously this will not be possible.

-I have two sets of keys to the car.

-The date was not set on my camera, but all of the pictures were taken on 9-18-13

-You can fly in and drive home if you would like. I live about 30 minutes from either Chicago O'Hare or Chicago Midway airports.

-If you are having the car shipped I will assist your shipper in loading it.

-Please don't contact me asking the reserve price. It is unfair to other bidders. The car is priced to sell so if you want it get in the game and bid and have some fun!!! That is what owning a Lincoln Mark VII is all about: FUN FUN FUN!

-There is no "buy it now" price, I will be letting the auction run it's coarse.

-You are more then welcome to come test drive the Mark VII before you bid. Feel free to bring your mechanic as I am not one.

-I have receipts for all of the above stated work done to the car.

-By bidding on the Lincoln you are entering into a contract to purchase an automobile. This is not the first right of refusal.

-I require a $200 deposit via PayPal within 48 hours of auction close. You can pay the balance in one of two ways within 7 days. If you are picking up the car you can pay me CASH. This means you will be counting out greenbacks and I will be handing you the title and the keys. If you are having the car shipped you can pay with a bank to bank wire transfer. I will not accept any checks of any kind. You cannot pay the entire amount with Paypal, that is only for the deposit.

-Only 49K original miles!!!!!!!!!

-If you have zero or negative feedback please contact me before you bid or I will be forced to cancel your bid. Also if you have positive feedback but have not had any feedbacks in the last year please contact me before you bid.

-If you have questions about the car please feel free to e-mail me on Ebay before you bid or better yet feel free to call me at 630-334-6974. My name is Joe and I will be happy to talk to you about the car.

-By next week you could be driving this big stylish coupe!

----Good luck to all and happy bidding!!!!

Ford Edge, Lincoln Nautilus to die in 2023

Wed, Sep 1 2021

Last summer saw two separate reports that Ford killed the next-gen Edge due in 2023, the move leading to the death of the Lincoln Nautilus in 2024 since the Lincoln is based on the Ford. As part of its future product roundup, Automotive News looked into the futures of a range of Ford Motor Company products, reporting that the Edge and Nautilus will both die in 2023. The Edge is said to be dead for good, thanks to Ford having four two-row crossovers in the lineup with the arrival of the hugely popular Bronco line, and a three-row Explorer that's only $175 more expensive at the moment. The Nautilus, however, could get a second act. When Ford came to an agreement with Canada's Unifor union about the Oakville Assembly Plant, which builds the Edge and Nautilus, the automaker pledged to turn Oakville into an EV production facility. Lincoln's big on battery-electric vehicles in the near-term, Unifor mentioning Oakville product plans that would have at least one EV coming off the line by 2025 and four more by 2028. Automotive News says Lincoln's got a small crossover and a midsize crossover due in 2025, and the small one could come from Canada and slot into the space left empty by the departed Nautilus, perhaps carrying on the name, perhaps not. One step up in size, the Ford Explorer and its Lincoln Aviator platform mate will soon welcome two battery-electric cousins into the family. These will both probably debut in 2022 and go on sale in 2023, the Ford produced in the Cuautitlan, Mexico, facility that now builds the Mustang Mach-E. As for which platform they'll ride on, it's not clear yet. Ford has four dedicated EV architectures planned for the company fold: GE2, the evolution of the Mach-E's GE1 platform; TE1 for trucks, coming in 2025; the Rivian platform that will contribute a dedicated Ford vehicle; and a version of Volkswagen's MEB platform for European offerings, with Ford planning to have an all-EV lineup across the Atlantic by 2030. The Explorer and Aviator EVs could get the GE2, or if Ford wants to showcase extra-rugged chops for both, the TE1. Related video: This content is hosted by a third party. Lincoln taps Serena Williams to pitch all-new Navigator

Fri, Feb 16 2018

Lincoln is turning to a new star to help it pitch the hot-selling Navigator SUV alongside Matthew McConaughey: Tennis megastar and businesswoman Serena Williams. She'll help pitch the Navigator in a social media campaign that launched Thursday. Lincoln released four short spots that will appear on Lincoln and Williams' social channels. In one, the longest at 41 seconds, Williams recalls buying her first Navigator as a teen and says she's come full circle as a mother. She dubbed the vehicle "Ginger." "Ginger was all white, she had 22s and she had rims," she says in the spot. "I felt like, you know, I was kind of balling in a way. It was like my first huge purchase." Another shows Williams talking on a tennis court about being a mother and how the vehicle functions as a kind of bedroom for her daughter, Olympia, who was born last September. "For me that's what's most important." Like the McConaughey spots before them, the new spots hew to the Lincoln script of mostly not focusing on the vehicle but rather on experiences. (Williams' experiences seem a lot less ethereal than McConaughey's.) View 4 Photos Williams is known for her tennis exploits, having won a record 23 Grand Slam singles titles and four Olympic gold medals. She has fashion deals with Puma and Home Shopping Network and launched her own fashion brand called Aneres. And she operates the Serena Williams Fund to emphasize education and help victims of gun and domestic violence, plus the Williams Sisters Fund, which she launched in 2016 with her sister, Venus. Serena Williams is also a member of the Oath Board of Advisors. Oath is the parent company of Autoblog. "Serena is an amazing athlete who has won 23 Grand Slams, but she also has a family, she has her own clothing line, she sits on major boards, she's philanthropic — she has all these competing demands on her time," Lincoln Group Marketing Manager John Emmert said in a statement. "We know that time is our Navigator client's ultimate luxury as they balance everything in their busy lives, and Serena exemplifies that balance with poise and grace." It's not the first time Williams has endorsed an automotive brand, notes AdAge. Mini featured the tennis star in a Super Bowl ad in 2016. The Navigator is all-new for 2018. It won North American Truck of the Year last month at the Detroit Auto Show. Related Video: This content is hosted by a third party. To view it, please update your privacy preferences. Lincoln unveils its Black Label Collection at Pebble Beach

Thu, 15 Aug 2013

With the posh surroundings of Monterey, CA during the Pebble Beach week as a backdrop, Lincoln has unveiled is new personalization and luxury service brand, called Lincoln Black Label. Following in the footsteps of programs like BMW Individual, Range Rover Autobiography, and many more, Black Label is strategic strike, aimed at upping Lincoln's brand cachet while luring new customers into the fold. Speaking about this at the Black Label's introduction in California Thursday, Jim Farley, Ford's executive vice president of Global Marketing, Sales and Service and Lincoln, told members of the media that "At Lincoln, our flagship is, you get to choose. That's our flagship."
While Black Label customers will benefit from concierge-like service from their dealers - both during the sale process and throughout ownership - the focus of the introduction is strongly focused on interior design.
Lincoln chose its current MKZ sedan and its MKC Concept crossover (seen in the inset image) as the debutants for Black Label treatment for good reason: the well-received MKC points the way forward for Lincoln styling as a whole, and the MKZ will be the first production vehicle to receive the option of the high-zoot interior design. We're told that eventually, Black Label treatment will be available for the full Lincoln lineup, but the MKZ will be the initial recipient, and not until late in 2014 according to the company's current projections.
