We are the original owners of this 1982 Mark VI.  VIN# 1MRBP95F3CY6133Y9.   It was purchased new in December 1981 from George Yelland Lincoln Mercury in Burlington, NJ.   It has been garaged all its life.  It is in original condition and has never been in an accident.  It shows extremely well for a 32 year old car and gets a lot of compliments.  I encourage you to contact me with any questions and to see the car or have it inspected.   We have all the owner's manuals and also the window sticker.

The most serious known issues are an antifreeze leak from the front of the manifold gasket that is not serious enough for repair at this point and the right front fender has a ding on the crease which I tried to photograph.  Cosmetically, realize it has been driven 78,000 miles and there is a door ding here or there but nothing unusual.  There are no tears or unusual wear in the interior.  This car shows very very well.

The car has not been driven much in the last few years, which is the reason for selling it.  It is exercised from time to time, so the mileage may be slightly more than stated.

Recent work that has been done over the recent years and other items to note:

·         A/C converted to 134a

·         New Heater Core

·         New mufflers/pipes behind the catalytic converters

·         4 new tires (spare is original)

·         New rear break pistons

·         New tie rod ball joints and repacked bearings

·         New Electric fuel pump and fuel filter

·         New headliner (old one was sagging)

·         Clock does not work

·         Original Premium Sound System Stereo,  amp and Elect antenna work but cassette deck does not

·         Oil and filter changed fall 2013.  Antifreeze changed/flushed 2011.

Car is sold as is, where is and is looking for a new home.  For sale locally and we reserve right to end auction early.  This Mark VI is elegant and a real head turner.  Thanks for looking

How long will the 'golden age' of performance last?

Sat, Mar 26 2016

High-powered sports and luxury cars were everywhere at the New York Auto Show, prompting the obvious question for enthusiasts: How long will this golden age of performance last? Industry leaders have some time before regulations elevate the Corporate Average Fuel Economy level in 2025. Even then, they expect cars rippling with power to survive in some form. "Is it the end of an era," I don't think so," said Ola Kallenius, Daimler AG board member for Mercedes-Benz cars marketing and sales. "That performance element of individual mobility I don't think will ever go away." Kallenius, who oversaw the company's AMG division from 2010-2013, expects it to continue to grow. Last year, AMG sold a record 68,875 units around the world, an increase of 44.6 percent over 2014, with strong growth in the US, China, and Germany. Still, there's always the potential for gas to spike, and pending fuel economy regulations are looming. That could lead AMG to add electrification to its products, Kallenius said, pointing to the electric SLS as a test case. Chevy is also thinking ahead, said Al Oppenheiser, chief engineer of the Camaro. He wouldn't bite when asked about electrification for the Camaro (he did say "never say never"), but admitted in 2025 "it's going to be pretty tough to sell V8s." For now, things are rosy for muscle cars, and Chevy confidently showcased the 640-hp Camaro ZL1 in coupe and convertible form in New York. "I think that this is truly the golden age of performance," Oppenheiser said. It's hard to disagree. News & Analysis News: The 2017 Mazda MX-5 Miata RF was a show-stopper in New York. Analysis: There was a palpable energy when this RF — for Retractable Fastback — was revealed the night before the show at a trendy off-site venue near the Hudson River. Even as a parade of SUVs and flashy luxury cars rolled out the rest of the week, the Miata remained a hot topic. The Retractable Fastback is really a clever targa top, with part of the roof stowing behind the seats, adding about 100 pounds compared to the standard convertible. It makes the car more practical and arguably more attractive. The RF continues Mazda's tradition of selling the Miata with a hardtop variant. The first and second generations offered a detachable one, and a power retractable hardtop (a $1,700 option) was available on third-gen models. Judging by its reception in New York, the RF could prove to be even more popular than its predecessors.

MyFord Touch getting buttons and knobs back to counter criticisms

Mon, 17 Jun 2013

Ford deserves credit for being a front-runner in offering advanced infotainment technology with its Sync and MyFord Touch systems, but continued consumer complaints over its confusing touchscreen interface and capacitive controls has made the automaker relent. The Wall Street Journal reports that physical buttons and knobs for controlling tuning and volume will be coming back to Ford vehicles equipped with the controversial infotainment system.
The 2013 F-150 with MyFord Touch gives us a glimpse of what the new layout with buttons and knobs might look like, as Ford says a similar balance of touch screen capability and buttons/knobs are what's being planned for future models. And, while capacitive controls have no fans in the halls of Autoblog, many of Ford's models with MyFord Touch do have a large physical knob for adjusting volume with integrated buttons for tuning and advancing tracks, though most of those are models with the optional upgraded Sony Audio system. Lincoln models with MyLincoln Touch, however, feature only capacitive controls for all stereo and climate functions.
Despite receiving enough complaints to throw buttons and knobs back into the mix (a move that reminds us of BMW's iDrive trajectory, among others), Ford reports that Sync and MyFord Touch have still been sold on 79 percent of its 2013 model year vehicles, a number it claims is double the rate that Honda and Toyota are getting for their infotainment systems. Ford also states that owners who do opt for the duo of technologies are more satisfied with overall vehicle quality than those who don't have it.
