So, you're dreaming of owning  a BMW or a Jaguar. Why? Because you want a  luxury sports sedan with great handling and  Plenty of Power.  But, your budget doesn't  allow you to pay more. You're in luck.  There's another car in town. It can compete  with BMW and Jaguar. And it's a Lincoln.  That's right, a Lincoln. The  Lincoln LS is  aimed squarely at the BMW 5-series and hits  its target right on. And it costs a  lot less. If you've never thought of owning  a Lincoln, read on. You might change your  mind.

You are viewing our gorgeous 2000  Lincoln LS  in Dark Green Satin. This is an  Accident-Free car that has spent its Entire Life in  Florida, so you know it is rust free!  We live in  the best place in the country for cars, no rust or  corrosion from the bitter elements of the North,  just Florida sunshine. Why buy a used car from New  York or Chicago, when you can buy one from the  Sunshine State? It is AUTOCHECK certified with No  issues. This is a Gorgeous example of the best value  Lincoln offers in the market today.

The exterior is Dark Green Satin with matching  cladding, bumper covers, and Chrome Accents.  You  may find a light scratch or tiny stone chip as  would be typical of any pre-owned car but  nothing we think you'd need to fuss with or  objectionable especially considering the value.   Gorgeous Lincoln wheels with deep tread and  matching BF Goodrich radials really complete the  "LOOK"!!  Nice...

The interior is stunning!! Lincoln  did an awesome job in creating the interiors of  these cars. The high line Wood-Grain accents and  Leather look great! The interior  shows Very little  wear. The Leather seating surfaces are fresh and  clean with no rips, tears or issues.  The leather is  soft and supple, just what you would expect from a  well cared for auto! This  has NEVER been smoked in,  period!   It has recently been serviced and the oil  change is good through over 51,000 miles.

This LS comes Loaded with a Long list  of Creature comforts.  We already mentioned the  Leather but that is just the start. The Power  Sliding Sunroof is Awesome! Open it up and Turn up  the tunes on the Alpine Premium Stereo with both  Cassette and 6 disc changer, and you can feel the  stress of life melt away.  Add to that Homelink,  Dual Power Seats, Windows, Locks, Mirrors, and  Steering Wheel that tilts and telescopes and you get  an idea of why we like this car so much.

And talk about fun  to drive.  We've put a few hundred miles on this LS  and boy is it a blast to drive.  The 3.9 Liter V8 is  more than enough in any situation, producing 252  Horsepower .  Smooth shifting and yet easy on gas  are the order of the day. Our northern buyers will  appreciate Traction Control on those inclement  days, ( I've read about them.).    What a most excellent car to own, not only  considering the Style, Luxury, and Performance, but  also for the FUN factor too!!!

As for safety, it's got  you covered. Traction Control, ABS, Front and  Front-side Airbags along with Top Ratings in IIHS  crash tests make this a safe choice for you  transportation dollar.

So let the relatives wonder how you  found such a gorgeous LS, with these miles and  history for so few dollars.

This Lincoln is very well equipped  and probably as close to new as you will find,  considering the vintage and miles!

  •                                         Because of our local customers, we must reserve the right to                      cancel any auction early. This will be rare because we want                      to give everyone a fair chance. So don't be afraid to bid.
  • As                          with any preowned vehicle, personal preference is a                          factor.  Please consider and expect to invest a few                          hundred dollars into your new car, catering it to your                          individual tastes and requirements. We do try our very                          best to objectively describe our offerings and welcome                          your emails and phone inquiries. Again, Thank You.
  •
Please use Paypal for $500 deposits only.  It                          assists in controlling our costs and can be accessed by                          logging in to http://www.paypal.com/, clicking send money, our                          email is Performance25@aol.com and selecting services.                           Thanks so much for you help.

Lincoln Sync 3 Infotainment Review | Clean and eminently usable

Tue, Sep 22 2020

Many of the newer Lincoln products might be vastly different in design and experience than their Ford counterparts, but infotainment software is still heavily shared between the two brands. That said, Lincoln has made a great effort to make its version of Sync 3 feel more upmarket and premium compared to Ford’s. If you can think of it in terms of Android smartphones, Sync 3 in Ford vehicles is like stock Google software. Sync 3 in Lincoln products is akin to SamsungÂ’s UI, which amounts to a totally new look and added features. The core interface remains the same across the two brands. LincolnÂ’s snazzy new look can be customized with a few different color combinations, but they generally all consist of muted tones that exude old-world luxury more than the heavy-handed blue hues on Ford's version of Sync. One convenient commonality between the two is Apple CarPlay and Android Auto capability, both of which require wired connections. Some may find the functionality of the Apple/Android interfaces to be compromised as detailed in our Ford Escape interior driveway test). Sync 3 has a bottom bar of quick toggle, commonly-used apps, and a Home button in the top left corner. It makes getting to any particular set of menus quick and painless. Squared-off icons are used within menus with large font and intuitive scrolling functionality. There are no redundant scroll wheels or touchpads to control the screen interface in any of LincolnÂ’s vehicles, so youÂ’ll need to be comfortable with a touchscreen. Thankfully, there are hard buttons on the dash for the climate controls and common audio functions.  Lincoln Sync 3 Infotainment View 10 Photos In the Lincoln Navigator weÂ’re using to demonstrate the technology, Sync 3 is smooth and generally free of hiccups. However, itÂ’s not infallible and tablet-smooth as plodding through BMWÂ’s or MercedesÂ’ latest infotainment systems is. Lincoln uses Sync 3 on all of its current models, and in the Navigator, itÂ’s playing on a large 10-inch screen. The added luxury features for Lincolns tends to dictate all of the extras you see in the software. There are settings for a vast array of ambient lighting, hugely complex seat controls (for the 30-way massaging seats) and a number of customization options for the excellent Revel audio system (optional). Lincoln differentiates itself even further with the fully digital instrument cluster flanking the big screen.

Junkyard Gem: 1979 Lincoln Continental Town Car

Sun, Aug 4 2024

Ford built Continentals from the 1940 through 2020 model years (with a couple of pauses during that period), and the biggest and arguably most extreme Continentals of all were the 1977-1979 models. That's what we've got for today's Junkyard Gem: a 1979 Continental Town Car with Cream paint outside and plenty of Light Gold Jubilee velour inside, found in a self-service boneyard in Sparks, Nevada. Thanks to the big 5 mph crash bumpers, the overall length of the 1977-1979 Continental sedan stretched to an astounding 233 inches. That's more than a foot longer than the 2024 Lincoln Navigator, though the Navigator scales in at more than a half-ton heavier than the '79 Continental sedan. For the 1980 model year, the Continental went onto the Panther platform and shed 10 inches of wheelbase, more than 13 inches of length and 500 pounds of curb weight. Considering the geopolitical events of 1979 and their effect on fuel prices, this turned out to be good timing … but the downsized '80 Continental didn't look as imposing (or as white-powder-dusted) when it pulled up to the valet parking stand at the disco. When your sedan weighs 4,649 pounds, you want serious power under its hood Â… and that was a rare commodity among 1979 automobiles sold in the United States. This is a 400-cubic-inch (6.6-liter) pushrod V8, essentially a stroked 351 Cleveland, rated at 159 horsepower and 315 pound-feet. That means that each of this car's horses had to drag 29.2 pounds, a ratio that's quite a bit worse than that of the much-maligned-for-slowness 2024 Mitsubishi Mirage (though the respectable torque made driving these cars tolerable enough in most situations). The interior was all about cushy seats and space to stretch out. The silver-faced gauges were very classy. Opera lights? You bet! This would have been an excellent, if thirsty, long-distance highway cruiser for its day. There were some 1999 coupons inside, suggesting that the car had been parked for a quarter-century before coming to this place. The high-elevation desert sun is murder on vinyl roofs. On January 10, 1981, people associated with this fine luxury automobile played golf at Willow Glen in San Diego. On the same day, Richard Boone died and Jared Kushner was born. Car subscription services: A slow, expensive start — but the potential is huge

Wed, Dec 26 2018

Americans are used to paying for subscriptions — to magazines and cable television, for instance — but experience shows they'll cancel when the price of admission gets too high, or there are more tempting alternatives. Cord cutters ditched nearly 1.5 million pay-TV subscriptions in 2017, according to a survey by Leichtman Research Group. Cable TV started out cheap with basic offerings, and then got expensive. The auto industry's subscription offerings are new, but they're starting out costly, and not price-competitive with traditional leasing. The upside is that they take the hassle out of car ownership for busy people by letting the service take care of maintenance, insurance, licensing and taxes. And they give consumers choice, often allowing relatively painless switches between different cars in the automakers' lineup. Subscription services also point the way toward an ownership-free auto experience, and offer an easy transition to a potential world where ride- and car-sharing will be dominant. Subscriptions are here to stay, but consumers may take a while to "get" them. Lincoln's subscription service for lightly used 2015 to 2017 models, offered through the Ford-owned Canvas beginning this year, got off to a slow start. Many early subscribers canceled. Last month, Cadillac announced it would " temporarily pause" its $1,800-per-month Book subscription service for "adjustments" as of December 1. According to the Wall Street Journal, "Snags with the back-end technology used to support the service made some customer-service functions tedious and time-consuming, adding costs for the company." The challenge for automakers is to come up with a strategy that offers consumers a compelling, affordable option to regular ownership, and one that can also make a profit. I think they'll find that sweet spot, but they're not there yet. Jack Nerad, former executive editorial director at Kelley Blue Book and author of " The Complete Idiot's Guide to Buying or Leasing a Car," points out that "A lot of people expected that subscriptions would be very valuable for people who wanted inexpensive transportation, but the reality is quite the opposite. Subscriptions are offering more choices for the wealthy.
