2001 Lincoln Ls V8 - Daily Driver - Low Reserve!! on 2040-cars
Dunn, North Carolina, United States
This auction is for a 2001 Lincoln LS V8. This has been our daily driver until today (we bought a larger family vehicle). This is a great car with 132,xxx miles on it. It was drove 200 miles today. There is some minor stuff wrong with the car as seen in the pictures. ABS light is on (we were told by our mechanic that it is a sensor) the Traction Control Is stuck in the ON position, there is about an 8 in crack in the windshield, and there is a slight shiver in Drive5 between 40-45mph, but it doesn't do it in Drive 4. Minor flaws on the exterior (few scrapes nothing major) and the drivers seat leather is torn a little. MANY GOOD THINGS ALSO: oil has been changes every 3,000 miles (changed last week) and BRAND NEW $500 set of tires with less than 500 miles on them. This has been out daily driver and the only reason it is for sale is because we just bought a larger family vehicle TODAY. I would not be scared to start anywhere on this car!! In my opinion this is a very reliable car! If you buy it have it shipped home or drive it home!! Selling AS IS. CLEAN NC TITLE IN HAND!

Lincoln Corsair's grille is growing in spy photos
Tue, Jul 19 2022We've recently seen the refreshed Ford Escape in spy photos, and it appears its luxurious platform mate, the Lincoln Corsair, is getting a refresh, too. It's a significantly more modest restyle, with one exception: The Corsair is getting a bigger grille. Yes, like so many other makes and models, Lincoln is updating its little SUV with a big grille. The width and even the shape aren't that different than the current model. But it's taller, having been stretched downward into the front bumper. It may now have a thicker lower chrome bar like the Navigator. Besides the grille, the rest of the Corsair looks nearly unchanged. Even the headlights look the same as the current model. The rear is also the same. Photos don't show the interior, but expect that to be generally the same, too, possibly with a larger infotainment screen. With how mild this refresh is, we expect it will be revealed this year as a 2023 model. The Corsair should retain its full range of powertrains including the standard turbo 2.0-liter four-cylinder, optional turbo 2.3-liter four-cylinder, and plug-in hybrid 2.5-liter naturally aspirated four-cylinder. Lincoln's $5B revival bid hinges upon new D6 chassis
Mon, 27 Oct 2014It's no secret that Lincoln has received short shrift from the Ford Motor Company for years, and former CEO Alan Mullay even wanted to kill the whole thing off when he ran things. Today, things appear to be trending in a different direction. Fresh investment has helped enable a sizable marketing push for its well-regarded MKC compact crossover, a couple of awards for the company and plant the seeds for a major expansion into China. While the situation is still in the early going, it looks like Lincoln is on a tentative (if long) path towards a turnaround. If new reports are accurate, the brand is poised to build on that momentum with its largest investment in new products in years thanks in large measure to a new modular platform codenamed D6.
According to four unnamed insiders speaking to Reuters, FoMoCo is investing over $5 billion over the next five years, partially to create a new modular platform to underpin multiple Lincoln vehicles - and possibly some Ford products, too. Development is reportedly being overseen by the division's new boss, Kumar Galhotra. At the moment, specific details about the D6 chassis aren't yet known, but it's rumored to have the flexibility to support front-, rear- and all-wheel drive vehicles. According to Reuters, the first model using the framework could be an MKZ replacement and seven-passenger MKT successor in 2019.
Until the D6-based models hit, expect to see continued expansion from Lincoln. Ford management isn't trying to turn around the division overnight and is planning "in terms of generations of products," according to current CEO Mark Fields. The strategy unsurprisingly includes a production version of Lincoln's recent MKX Concept, as well as an all-new Navigator using aluminum-intensive architecture. Reuters also claims the MKS is due for renewal in the meantime, including with a longer-wheelbase version to appeal to the brand's new Chinese buyers.
