1963 Lincoln Continental

Up for auction is my beautiful 1963 Lincoln Continental. Perfect example of an original California rust-free classic that's never left the state. I am only the 3rd registered owner to the car and I purchased it from the original family here in Orange County (it still has the matching set of CA black plates). This Lincoln sat covered in a warehouse for almost 3 decades before being restored. All the chrome and stainless steel trim is original to the car and most of it has been re-chromed and polished. Nothing is missing on the car and everything looks just as it should.

The car had the engine and trans rebuilt back in 2008 and it now has about 20k miles since the rebuild. Runs on regular unleaded gas unlike the original engines that required leaded fuel for the softer internal metals. I just had the carb rebuilt last month, installed a new starter, fuel pump, plugs, wires, and changed all fluids. The car runs excellent and feels like you're riding on a cloud at any speed. It’s a big heavy car but has plenty of power with that big block 430 4v engine (320hp/465 lb-ft torque). Car is very reliable and starts on first key turn even if it’s been sitting for days. Engine bay is very clean and most of it has been painted or powdercoated. The suspension, power steering, and power brakes all work great and it drives with great ease for such a large car. No squeaks or rattles anywhere and the engine drives very quite as well. All 4 power windows and both vent windows work fine (had all 10 window switches rebuilt and rebuilt window motors), interior and exterior lights all work, wipers, turn signals, power antenna, gauges, ect. The A/C system is starting to blow cool air and not ice-cold like it use to so it’s due for a re-charge. The new red interior was all done last year which included front and rear seat upholstery with new seat foams, door panels, new wood trim, full carpet, seat belts, perforated headliner, dash detail, trunk area carpet and custom tire cover with embroidered Lincoln emblem ($5,000 interior invoice). Both front and rear 3 piece bumpers were triple chromed and look mint! Also rechromed door handles, emblems, interior chrome trim, and polished some of the stainless steal moldings, I spent over $3,000 on chrome alone. The car was painted a couple years ago with a nice two stage black paint job that still looks great. There's a couple minor paint imperfections from average use but nothing noticable. Car has all original sheet metal and it has never been in an accident. It's never had any rust issues or metal repairs done to it either. Original glass all around in excellent shape as well.  Newer BF Goodrich Silvertown tires with about 90% tread left.

Minor issues that need attention; needs new stereo speakers, power seat needs selector switch rebuilt, needs new door and vent window weatherstripping. Aside from that she’s good to go and can even be used as a daily driver.

This Lincoln turns heads and gets thumbs up wherever we drive it. If you don't like constant attention this car is not for you. I've got a clean CA title in hand with current registration under my name. Car is available for inspection by any serious bidder during this auction so feel free to send me a message with your phone number and I will call you to set up an appointment. As all other classic cars it is being sold in AS IS condition and there is no warranty included in this sale. Please ask questions if you are unsure of anything prior to bidding. View my feedback and bid with confidence. Thanks =)

2017 Lincoln Continental brings 'quiet luxury' to Detroit

Tue, Jan 12 2016

Following the concept that debuted in New York the better part of a year ago, the production Lincoln Continental promises to usher in a new era for the Lincoln division and put up a better fight against Cadillac. (Or so, at least its parent company Ford would hope.) To that end, Dearborn's luxury brand promises "an elegant, effortlessly powerful, serene fullsize sedan that delivers quiet luxury to the industry's most discerning customers." That effortless power comes from a twin-turbocharged, 3.0-liter V6 that will produce up to 400 horsepower. Other features include exterior ambient lighting that activates when the driver approaches, hidden electric door handles, and an available panoramic glass panel covering the entire roof. The new Conti also boasts a three-mode suspension and steering system, torque vectoring, adaptive cruise control, a 360-degree camera system, and collision assist with pedestrian detection. Meanwhile the interior offers such amenities as 30-way adjustable front seats, reclining, massaging and climate-controlled rear seats, a Revel audio system, and active noise cancellation. All the features, in short, you'd expect from a luxury sedan, and then some. Only this one will be made in Flat Rock, not imported from overseas. Following its debut at the Detroit Auto Show this week, it will reach dealers in the fall – at which point import and Caddy dealers alike may need to start taking notice. All-New Lincoln Continental Delivers Quiet Luxury: Elegant, Effortlessly Powerful, Serene - Lincoln Motor Company introduces its elegant new flagship – the all-new Continental – coming this fall - Effortless power comes from new 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged V6 engine that produces a projected 400 horsepower and 400 lb.-ft. of torque1; advanced safety technology is also featured - Serene interior offers the comfort of Lincoln's innovative Perfect Position Seat, spaciousness, rear seat amenities, Revel® audio system and top-grade materials DETROIT, Jan. 12, 2016 – Lincoln Motor Company heralds the return of its flagship – the all-new Lincoln Continental – an elegant, effortlessly powerful, serene full-size sedan that delivers quiet luxury to the industry's most discerning customers. Matthew McConaughey Lincoln pitches drive on with new MKZ ads

Mon, Dec 29 2014

You didn't think a few spoofs were going to break up Lincoln and pitch-man Matthew McConaughey, did you? With more than three million extra free views of Lincoln products on YouTube because of the send-ups – and no one is making fun of the car, remember – the brand rightly concludes, "We couldn't ask for better." That's why the pair are back, this time working on behalf of the MKZ and MKZ Hybrid. The two commercials "Balance" and "Diner" are new, but the formula is the same - cinematic, contemplative, channeling more than a bit of True Detective. They'll hit broadcast channels during college bowl games on New Year's Day. You can watch "Balance" above and "Diner" below, and the press release further down has more details. Matthew McConaughey Gets Behind Wheel of 2015 Lincoln MKZ in New Ads Airing Jan. 1 - The Lincoln Motor Company teams up again with Academy Award™ winner Matthew McConaughey to create Lincoln MKZ and Lincoln MKZ Hybrid ad campaign that will begin airing during high-profile New Year's Day college football bowl games - Two new TV and online ads will promote Lincoln MKZ and Lincoln MKZ Hybrid midsize sedans, which have given a new direction to the brand with their introduction two years ago - Lincoln's previous collaboration with McConaughey, the "Live in Your Moment" campaign, fueled early sales success of 2015 Lincoln MKC small premium utility DEARBORN, Mich., Dec. 29, 2014 – In the bright spotlight of New Year's Day college football bowl games, The Lincoln Motor Company will launch its newest ad campaign promoting the 2015 Lincoln MKZ and Lincoln MKZ Hybrid and featuring Matthew McConaughey. Filmed in a style and tone consistent with last summer's much-talked-about "Live in Your Moment" ads for the first-ever Lincoln MKC, the new campaign brings the attention back to the premium midsize sedan that has been Lincoln's best-selling vehicle since arriving in showrooms two years ago. "The overwhelming response to the MKC campaign sparked truly great awareness for Lincoln," said Andrew Frick, Group Marketing Manager Lincoln. "Matthew's natural storytelling ability perfectly complements the Lincoln story as we continue to raise awareness and drive conversation in creative and unexpected ways.

Ford recalls over 500,000 trucks and SUVs, including Explorer, F-150, and Lincoln Aviator

Fri, Aug 30 2019

For the second time in a month, Ford is recalling the brand-new 2020 Explorer and 2020 Lincoln Aviator for minor safety issues. This recall, which also affects certain 2018-2020 Ford F-150s, 2019-2020 Ford F-Series Super Duty trucks, 2018-2019 Ford Explorers, and 2019-2020 Ford Expeditions, pertains to potentially faulty seat-back reclining mechanisms. In total, the recall touches 550,186 vehicles. A mechanical part meant for relaxation and comfort has the Ford Motor Company stressin'. Ford says potentially affected vehicles might be missing the "third pawl required for seat-back strength" in the reclining mechanisms on certain seats. Because of this, the seats might not properly keep a person in place during the event of a crash or otherwise.  In the F-150s, F-Series Super Duty trucks, 2018-2019 Explorers, and Expeditions, the recall affects vehicles with manual driver and/or front passenger seat-back recliners. On the 2020 Explorers and Lincoln Aviators, rear outboard seats with manual recliners are of concern. Of the more than 550,000 vehicles, 483,325 vehicles are in the United States, 58,712 are in Canada and 8,149 are in Mexico. Thus far, Ford is not aware of any injuries from the issues. Ford says it expects most vehicles will not need repair, but dealers will inspect the seat structures out of precaution. If fault is found, dealers will replace the seat structure altogether. For this recall, Ford's reference number is 19C07. Contact your dealer for more information. Featured Gallery 2020 Ford Explorer View 47 Photos Recalls Ford Lincoln Truck SUV
