1946 Lincoln Continental Convertible Cabriolet   V12

Very rare and prestigious post war American classic. 1 of only 201 built.

Just out of long term storage.  Very nice all around car that is so unique, most people don't know what it even is.   The V12 engine sets it apart from most anything it's ever around.  Then engine itself is a piece of art and is mechanically sound.  The car starts right up and runs good.  The engine idles smooth, runs cool and isn't smoking or making scary noises.  It shifts good and stops good.  The body is solid and straight.  Paint looks really good overall but does have some small nicks and scratches that happen over time.  The car was painted sometime in the mid 80's and has obviously been kept in doors.  Chrome looks good on the car and it is very complete.  Grill looks new and is a very distinctive part of the car.  The driver's side tail lens is cracked.  Push button door handles are a neat feature and work like they should.  It has a good solid frame and nice floors.  Photos will tell more than I can type.  I am posting right at 70 photos of the car trying to show it's condition and features.  Clean title with no issues.

Terms/Conditions - This car is being sold "AS IS" with no warranty written or implied. You are invited to come inspect and test drive this vehicle before placing your bid. This car is for sale locally as well and I reserve the right to end the auction at anytime if needed.  No funny business, this car is being sold with a clear Ky title free and clear of brands or liens. Shipping is the responsibility of the buyer although I will gladly assist with arrangements. A $1,000 non-refundable deposit is due within 48 hours with full payment due within 7 days of the auctions end. Naturally, the car will not be released until funds have cleared my bank. Please do not bid unless you fully intend to follow through with the sale (ask your wife and bank first).

Ford issues recalls for Fiesta, Fusion, E-Series, and Lincoln MKZ

Wed, Mar 25 2020

Ford has issued two new safety recalls for North America. The first covers certain 2014-15 Ford Fiestas, 2014-16 Ford Fusions, and 2014-16 Lincoln MKZs with doors that might not close properly. The second pertains to 2021 Ford E-Series stripped chassis and cutaway vehicles with a wiring harness that might chaffe and expose important wiring.    Ford is recalling 268,343 Fiesta hatchbacks, Fusion sedans, and MKZ sedans across the United States, Canada, and Mexico, with 248,912 of the affected vehicles located in the U.S. The recall says the "latch pawl spring-tab design" could crack in locations where the temperature gets too hot. If the tab breaks, the door might not shut. Or, worse, the door will shut temporarily and reopen once the vehicle is in motion. As a fix, Ford dealers will remove and replace the side door latches. In a separate recall, Ford is targeting 3,631 2021 E-Series stripped chassis and cutaway vehicles. These vehicles could have frame-mounted wiring harnesses that could deteriorate and break due to rubbing on the frame. If the chaffing wears down the harness, wiring for the fuel, trailer tow, and antilock braking systems could be exposed and damaged. In the worst-case scenario, the damage to the fuel pump wiring could cause the pump to stop working, which could stall the vehicle.  Those with affected E-Series vehicles should bring them in to dealerships for inspection. If there is no damage, technicians will add anti-abrasion tape over the area and "ensure clearance to surrounding components." If the harness is damaged, the wiring will be spliced and fixed, then anti-abrasion tape will be added. Ford also issued a third recall, but it is specifically for the Canadian market. On 54,292 examples of 2006-10 Ford Fusions, 2006-10 Mercury Milans, and 2006-10 Lincoln MKZs, a valve inside the hydraulic control unit might stick open. According to Ford, this could result in a longer brake pedal travel, which could possibly create dangerous situations if the driver is unaware. Dealerships will inspect the control units and replace those that are defective. Related Video: This content is hosted by a third party. To view it, please update your privacy preferences. 2020 Lincoln Aviator final specs drop — it makes even more power than before

Mon, Aug 12 2019

The 2020 Lincoln Aviator is getting more power, and we haven’t even driven it yet. Well, itÂ’s not getting more power, but the final numbers are officially out, and theyÂ’re higher than what Lincoln promised at the initial reveal. We were told at last year's L.A. Auto Show that the base 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6 would make 400 horsepower and 400 pound-feet of torque. Lincoln's spec sheet shows itÂ’s still going to make 400 horsepower, but the torque figure is now up to 415 pound-feet. We're looking at the same spec sheet, but a hat tip to CarBuzz for noticing the change first. The plug-in hybrid model has received an even larger bump to its ratings. Lincoln said it would be 450 horsepower and 600 pound-feet of torque combined, but itÂ’s actually going to be 494 horsepower and 630 pound-feet of torque. We were a bit slack-jawed at the numbers before, and this just takes it one step further. Lincoln still isnÂ’t quoting any acceleration numbers, but with this amount of power, something in the 4- to 5-second range seems likely for a 0-60 mph time. ItÂ’s a legitimate shot across the bow in the German SUV horsepower wars. That said, the Aviator persona comes across as much more muscle car-like than a performance SUV meant to tackle lap times like the AMGs and M car SUVs of the world. We donÂ’t know the all-electric range yet, but Lincoln did tell us the size of the battery pack and the electric motorÂ’s output. Aviator PHEVs will be working with a 13.6 kWh battery pack and a 101-horsepower electric motor. There are two modes: One is called Preserve EV, and the other is called Pure EV. Preserve EV is able to charge the battery up to 75 percent using the engine while driving, whereas Pure EV is designed to keep the car in electric-only mode. YouÂ’ll get blue accents in the Lincoln star if you buy the plug-in hybrid, too. Some cool headlight technology is coming to the Aviator in the form of optional adaptive pixel LED headlights. Lincoln says itÂ’s capable of speed-dependent lighting, which adjusts the beam based on your speed. At fast speeds, Lincoln says more light is directed at the road, while driving at low speeds disperses it wider to cover more area directly in front of the vehicle. WeÂ’ll be driving the new Aviator soon, so look out for our first drive impressions coming later this month.
