2004 Lincoln Aviator Base Sport Utility 4-door 4.6l on 2040-cars
Rochester, New York, United States
|  This is a nice running and working Suv. I purchased it to help my friend when the motor gave him problems. He had replaced the transmission with a remanufactured on in may of 2013 at 142K ( with receipt) When I had the car taken to the shop, i opted to just replace the motor with a somewhat lower mileage motor since we did not know the extent of the problems within the original. The new motor had 125K and the suv had 145,996 after new motor was installed we discovered the issue was a hole in the radiator that caused original to overheat, and thus.. whaola.. new motor. so I installed a new radiator, serp. belt, battery, then 2 weeks later the right rear half shaft and hub. I have driven it over 1000 miles, and then summer came and I got my summer car out, so this one is in the barn. Ther is nothing wrong with it, everything works, air, power options, everything. With this said, there are some flaws, its 10 yrs old with 147K. the exterior has some scratches, the right frint corner has a wrinkle in the bumper, the rear gate has a small spot of rust starting, as is also on the RR wheel well when you open the rear door. The interior is light tan, and shows wear. the steering wheel has some tan worn down to the darker brown leather on the left side. the seat show wear. the pockets on the front dors have been removed ( IDK why) and the handles for reclining the front seats need to be replaced as they are missing. the left front seat is missing the plastic trim around the base of the seat None of thse are major issues, I am simply trying to be as detailed as I can, because I know how hard it is to buy a car sight unseen. Mech the only thing I know is there is a tiny oil drip near the oil filter. In the 1000 miles I have used it it say It might have lost a 1/4 cup? its not dropped on the dipstick at all.. its a Tiny tiny spot I noticed. It did pass NYSI in april or may, and I have not had any service light come on.. its really running nice. I will drive it again this winter if I dont sell, but its not the best on gas, so Id be ok with getting something smaller. I have achieved up to 19mpg Hwy and it averages, 13.5-15 normally. average for a awd suv with a v8. i have receipts for all work listed, I lost the labor receipt for the motor install, but I do have the motor receipt, and have no problem taking you to the shop that did the work. they are very reputable. |

MKC Concept is the real fresh start for Lincoln [w/poll]
Mon, 14 Jan 2013We were admittedly bullish about the Lincoln MKC Concept when we introduced it to you yesterday, as we were taken aback by how cohesive the C-platform crossover is in the metal. As it turns out, so were you, dear reader. With hundreds of comments booked on our original Deep Dive story, the overwhelming temperature of the Autoblog Commenteriat is one of surprise and delight - quite an accomplishment for a marque that many had written off for dead. The reception here under the bright lights of the Detroit Auto Show appears to be no less positive, but we thought you might want a second, closer look afforded by these live photos.
Lincoln remains mum on production MKC drivetrain specifics (we're thinking it will start with the 2.0-liter EcoBoost four-cylinder out of its similarly sized Ford Escape relative, or maybe the midlevel 1.6-liter), but we shouldn't have to wait too long. The showcar is expected to closely mirror the production model (due as early as later this year), so much so that Ford global marketing boss Jim Farley explicitly told the press conference masses, "When you see the MKC, do not think concept." That's good news, as the MKC is pivotal to Lincoln's effort to rebuild awareness and consideration on the back of its MKZ sedan, a model just now going on sale. In fact, with the small crossover segment exploding, the MKC could very well turn out to be more important to the brand than the MKZ.
After seeing these new photos, are you more or less enamored with Lincoln's new concept? Leave a comment after voting in our poll below.
Lincoln's L100 teases luxurious autonomy with crazy-long doors
Fri, Aug 19 2022Lincoln chose Pebble Beach (not to mention its brand centennial) to show its new autonomous coupe concept. This unconventional 2+2 has everything you expect from a classic Lincoln luxury car — an extravagant presence, over-the-top appointments and, most importantly, the most ridiculous suicide doors we've ever seen. It may not seem obvious in photos, but the L100 is truly massive. It's longer than a Navigator (Lincoln's words) and arguably has a far more impressive aura. The wheels are tucked beneath the L100's body work to make the car more slippery; the slick impressions adorning the bodywork are lined with LEDs, allowing for a customizable movement "signature." And then there are the doors. The L100's massive portals are mounted on hinges the likes of which you've never seen, which is appropriate given the scale of this massive coupe. The doors open rearward, then outward imbuing the works with look akin to that of a mechanized insect startled by an intruder. The angle can be customized, Lincoln says, and the ingress/egress points are lined with LEDs that allow for custom lighting effects, including an illuminated "red carpet" that makes puddle lamps look like weak party tricks. Lincoln Model L100 Concept Exterior 7 View 13 Photos "We are at a special moment in our history. Over the last 100 years, Lincoln has pioneered multiple innovations and pushed the boundaries of design that have come to define our brand as we know and love it today," says Joy Falotico, president, Lincoln. "With the Model L100 Concept, we reimagine what the Lincoln sanctuary might look like for our clients of tomorrow moving us forward to define the next chapter of the Lincoln story." Lincoln was light on the L100's technical details, suggesting only that it utilizes next-gen (solid state) battery tech and a wheel-in-motor configuration to maximize available interior space. The stylized "wheel" panels eliminate turbulence and are sculpted outward from the car's centerline to maximize space for the actual wheels and tires hidden beneath them. Lincoln's designers say it was surprisingly easy to assure clearance for the front wheels to pivot with steering inputs, but despite the L100's size, it's hard not to fixate on how narrow that front track must be. Lincoln's idea of the next chapter is one where people still own their own cars even if they don't drive them. This is in contrast to Cadillac's InnerSpace concept, which is otherwise very similar in both concept and execution.
Lincoln previews new Navigator with illuminated grille, new interior
Tue, Aug 13 2024While it's not the best-selling Lincoln, the Navigator stands proud as the company's flagship and one of its most important models in terms of image. The current-generation SUV made its debut for 2018, and it will soon receive what sounds like a round of far-reaching updates. Full details about the new-look Navigator aren't available yet, but a short preview video published by Lincoln gives us several hints. We already know that the front end gets a redesigned grille that's seemingly wider, and the teaser confirms that the central slat and the Lincoln emblem will be illuminated. Earlier spy shots suggest that the big SUV's overall proportions won't significantly change, however. Another detail revealed by the video is that the updated Navigator receives a redesigned interior. In the current model, the ignition button is located on the right side of the steering column (near where you'd expect to find the ignition barrel in an older car) and the buttons used to shift the transmission into gear are below the air vents on the center stack. In the updated SUV, the ignition button and the piano key-like shift buttons are on the center console. The steering wheel gets a cleaner-looking design, and it looks like the dashboard is new as well. There's no word on what's under the hood. For 2024, the Navigator comes with a 3.5-liter V6 that's twin-turbocharged to 440 horsepower and 510 pound-feet of torque. It spins the four wheels via a 10-speed automatic transmission. Rear-wheel-drive is no longer offered. An unverified report claims a hybrid system will join the portfolio; the 10-speed automatic was developed with electrification in mind, after all. Lincoln will unveil the Navigator on August 15, and the model should land on dealer lots for the 2025 model year. The Ford Expedition that the Navigator is closely related to is expected to receive a major round of visual and tech updates for the 2025 model year as well.
