THIS CAR IS SHOWING 22,512 MILES ON THE ODOMETER AND TO TELL THE TRUTH, IT COULD PASS FOR THAT MILEAGE, BUT I AM REASONABLY SURE THAT IT IS 122,512 MILES. THE CHROME TRIM ON THIS CAR IS LIKE IT ALL,INCLUDING THE BUMPERS, JUST CAME OUT OF NOS BOXES! NO PITTING, NO CRAZING, NO AGE SPOTS!! JUST INCREDIBLE CHROME. EXCEPT FOR A SMALL DENT ON THE RIGHT REAR BUMPER END, THE CHROME IS PERFECT! THE ORIGINAL PAINT IS THE SAME WITH THE EXCEPTION OF THE RIGHT REAR DOOR WHICH WILL BE PICTURED. THIS CAN BE REPAIRED BY A PAINTLESS DENT REPAIR PERSON. THE VINYL ROOF IS ORIGINAL AND AS NEW WITH A BEAUTIFUL MOON ROOF THAT WORKS FLAWLESSY. THE INTERIOR SEATS AND CARPETS AS WELL AS THE PLUSH TRUNK CARPETS ARE AS NEW. THIS WAS PURCHASED FROM THE GRANDSON OF A COUPLE THAT WERE BOTH RECENTLY DISEASED!. THANK GOD, I GOT IT BEFORE HE HAD A CHANCE TO TEAR IT UP. THIS IS AN UNRESTORED AND RARE CALIFORNIA CAR! NEVER ANY RUST! THIS CAR HAS ALWAYS BEEN GARAGED AND PROPERLY MAINTAINED TO BE IN THIS CONDITION. AT 122,512 MILES, THAT IS AN AVERAGE OF ONLY 3,500 MILES A YEAR! BESIDES, NOBODY ELSE HAS TO KNOW THE MILEAGE HAS A PLUS 100K , BECAUSE IT LOOKS LIKE WHAT IT SAYS! I HAD THE CAR PROFESSIONALLY CLAYED, THE VINYL TOP CLEANED AND TREATED. THE INTERIOR & TRUNK WERE SHAMPOOED! I SWEAR THIS CAR LOOKS LIKE A LOW MILEAGE SURVIVOR THE ENGINE WAS ONLY PRESSURE WASHED AND LOOKS ORIGINAL AND BEAUTIFUL. THE UNDERSIDE HAS NEVER BEEN UNDERCOATED OR SPRAYED BLACK TO "FRESHEN" IT UP. DO YOU REALIZE HOW DIFFICULT IT IS TO DETAIL THE UNDERNEATH WHEN THEY HAVE BEEN UNDERCOATED OR SPRAYED BLACK. TRY IMPOSSIBLE! THE CARS RUNS AND DRIVES LIKE A HEAVY LINCOLN LIKE THIS SHOULD. EVERYTHING SEEMS TO WORK PROPERLY INCLUDING THE ICE COLD A/C AND EVEN THE CLOCK. IT IS A BEAUTIFUL AND UNMOLESTED CAR IN TOTALLY ORIGINAL CONDITION. DO SOME MINOR DETAIING AND YOU ARE READY FOR THE NEXT L.C.O.C. MEET! Updated Ford Expedition and Lincoln Navigator caught in new spy photos
Mon, Oct 26 2020Face-lifted Ford Expedition and Lincoln Navigator prototypes were spotted in the wild Monday wearing fairly extensive camouflage disguising updated bodywork for the 2022 model year. Ford's two body-on-frame offerings (BOFferings? Nope. Pretend that didn't happen.) are both due for a nip and tuck, and with GM's fresh slate of full-sizers now available, the timing couldn't be more perfect. There's not much we can discern from this Navigator prototype. The camo does a good job of masking whatever Lincoln has in store for the nose, but the tailgate has some discernible updates, including a significantly more pronounced recess for the license plate that also appears to be mounted higher on the hatch. This would likely indicate that the rear lighting scheme is getting an overhaul, as there doesn't appear to be enough room between the lower edge of the glass and the plate for the current scheme to be preserved. The Expedition, on the other hand, has quite a bit going on. For starters, this prototype is not sporting the chrome-and-polish look we've come to associate with these often-blingy SUVs. Instead, we see a set of Goodyear Wrangler all-terrains on what appear to be 18" wheels, which are positively dwarfed by the turbine-style wheels on the Lincolns. Leaning even harder into the off-road theme, this prototype is not wearing the scalloped front air dam seen on other Expeditions. While it may have been removed for testing purposes, its absence (or replacement) would certainly do wonders for the big SUV's approach angle. Elsewhere, we can see what appear to be a new set of tail lights, and it would be safe to assume based on the camo that we'll see new front and rear bumper treatments. We can also see a bit of the Expedition's interior, and there are quite a few things to note on this front. For starters, the prominent, vertically oriented infotainment screen takes after the Mustang Mach-E's unit. This is significant not only on spec, but also because it signals that the Expedition's interior will be departing more significantly from that of the F-150. Related Video:
2020 Lincoln Corsair gets a price, and there's a wide range
Fri, May 17 2019The 2020 Lincoln Corsair configurator is open for business, and that means we also know the luxury compact crossover's price. It starts at $36,940, including the $995 destination charge. If you try your hardest and tick every single box Lincoln lets you, it's possible to get the price above $60,000. We're not suggesting you do that like we did, but it's always interesting to know how high it can go. Read everything we know so far about the 2020 Lincoln Corsair The base price gets you a Corsair "Standard" that is equipped with a 2.0-liter turbo four-cylinder making 250 horsepower and 275 pound-feet of torque sent to the front wheels. If you want all-wheel drive, Lincoln forces the selection of the "Standard I" equipment package, which ends up resulting in a $3,600 increase. That package consists of ambient lighting, a universal garage door opener, navigation and 18-inch wheels. One of the more expensive boxes you're likely to check on the entry-level trim is the Co-Pilot360 Plus Package for $3,050. That includes a bunch of driver assistance gear like adaptive cruise control, lane centering, sign recognition and evasive steering assist. A $2,500 Premium Package nets premium leather seats, a panoramic roof and 19-inch wheels. 2020 Lincoln Corsair View 12 Photos Of course, you can skip a lot of the option and package jumping by choosing the "Reserve" trim that begins at $43,625 with some premium stuff already included. This also unlocks the ability to get the 2.3-liter EcoBoost engine, which makes 280 hp and 310 lb-ft of torque. Selecting this forces the Reserve I package and all-wheel drive onto the table, which gives you a ton of equipment, but also increases the price by $6,740. This makes the cheapest Corsair with the most powerful engine start at $50,365. You can go crazy from there, tacking on the Reserve II Package for features like adaptive suspension, ventilated front seats, heated rear seats, a heated steering wheel, 360-degree camera, wireless charging pad, digital gauge cluster and rain-sensing wipers. Like we said, this thing can get near or over $60,000 without much effort. The Corsair's base price compares favorably to other compact luxury crossovers like the $41,995 BMW X3 and $40,700 Mercedes-Benz GLC. However, adding in a desirable option like the higher-output engine brings the price up considerably.
Why Grandpa loved Lincoln: Looking back at a century of design
Sun, Feb 13 2022It’s been 100 years since Henry Ford, in the aftermath of World War I, purchased the scraps of the Lincoln Motor Company. Ford put his son Edsel in charge of the automaker, and challenged him to create a luxury car company that could rival Cadillac, Packard and Pierce-Arrow. This meant, first off, bringing actual automotive designers into the fold, building out FordÂ’s first such department. The Model T, FordÂ’s then long-in-the-tooth mainstay, was created by engineers, and looked it. “For Lincoln, the innovation and setting of new standards of modernity has always been a core of our design,” said Kemal Curic, a 20-year veteran of Ford, and global design director of Lincoln since 2014. “Since its founding purchase from Henry Leland, Lincoln was always courageous to introduce new designs.” These included concentrations on streamlining and exuberance. These focci yielded a number of vehicle designs that were influential not just for the brand, but for the industry. 1936 Lincoln Zephyr, 1939 Lincoln Presidential Limo “Some of the cars that changed America were the 1936 and ‘38 Zephyr. The ‘36 for its aerodynamic look, and the ‘38 for its patented horizontal grille,” said Lincoln archivist and historian Ted Ryan. “Also, the 1939 Zephyr Continental, developed in ‘39 as a 1940 model – later known just as the Lincoln Continental – instituted another icon that stayed in place for decades with the spare tire initially exposed, and then treated with the spare tire hump.” Both Ryan and Curic also called out a number of other inspiring Lincoln models. These included the 1955 Lincoln Futura concept – which was later turned into the Batmobile by George Barris – and the 1961 Continental, famed for its rectilinear slab sides and suicide doors, plus its role as a presidential limousine in the Kennedy era. “These cars emphasized horizontality,” Curic said. “We like to relate that to the designs of Frank Lloyd Wright in his architecture. Wright loved his Lincolns. These proportions on the exterior were always Lincoln signifiers.” 1961 Lincoln Continental, Lincoln Futura Concept Lesser known than these is an example of what, back in the day, was known as a Hybrid: a car featuring an American powerplant and European design. “IÂ’m a huge fan of the 1955 Indianapolis Concept,” Curic said, a stunning jet-like vehicle that was last up for auction by RM SothebyÂ’s in 2013.
