2009 Lincoln Town Car Signature “L”

SELLER NOTES AND DISCLOSURES:

I bought this vehicle on eBay in June of 2013 and had it shipped from Texas.  According to the Car Fax report, it was first put in service in Louisiana, and then made its way to the Houston area.

The car was originally blue in color, and I had it taken apart (i.e. glass removed, trim taken off, etc.) and sprayed black, with clear coat.  This included under the hood, inside the trunk, and all door jams.  You cannot tell the car was repainted.

This is NOT a car that was driven aggressively.  I am a sole proprietor of a livery service and have no employees.  I AM THE ONLY PERSON who has driven the vehicle since I bought it.  I am selling it strictly because the contracts I have been seeking require a different make and model vehicle.

As you will see from the photos, this car is nearly perfect in condition.  I have kept it washed, detailed, and cleaned since I’ve owned it.  This means waxing at least once a month, and paint cleaning and colored waxing every other month with Zymol Black Wax.  And also chrome polish on the trim and grill.  I’ve also kept the carpet looking brand new by completely sealing it with carpet cover tape, and using rubber floor mats.

You will be very hard pressed to find a late model Town Car “L” with relative LOW miles and in pristine condition.  They just don’t exist, because the livery companies bought them up, once production of the vehicle ceased in 2012.

The car runs flawlessly, does not have any shimmers or shakes, and the transmission shifts smoothly.  I am the only driver of the vehicle, and I did not drive it hard.  The air suspension works perfectly, and with the newer tires, it is extremely quiet.  All the electronics work perfectly.

The vehicle has a current California registration which expires in June of 2015.  It has a clean and clear commercial title in the State of California.

Here is a summary of what I’ve done to the vehicle, since I’ve owned it:

91,888:  Tires balanced and rotated

88, 828:  Oil change and filter

84,161:   Michelin Energy LX4 All Season whitewall radials from COSTCO

84, 154:  Front end alignment

82,904:  Transmission flush

81,xxx:  Oil Pan Gasket

80,276:  Cooling system flush and thermostat replaced

78,243:  Oil change

Flaws and more disclosures:

·         Slight color sand burn along the hood edge (see photo).

·         Rear passenger slightly pushed in at the tip, due to the door being opened and hitting a pole (barely noticeable).

·         One paint touch up area on the roof, very small and not easy to see.

·         Some very slight scratches on the top of the rear bumper, barely noticeable.

·         Paint touched up UNDER the portion on top of the rear bumper,  which is completely unviewable when the trunk is closed.

·         Seller is responsible for the pickup of the vehicle, and therefore shall either pick it up personally, or arrange transportation.

The 2009 Lincoln Town Car L is free to verify and inspect before the purchase. The car is described to the best of my knowledge. I reserve the right to end the listing at anytime as the vehicle is listed locally and could sell at any time. PLEASE bid only if you are a serious buyer and have the funds available for purchase.

As Seller has disclosed all known and obvious defects and imperfections, vehicle is listed for sale/auction AS IS, WITH NO IMPLIED WARRANTIES, CLAIMS OR FUTURE COMPENSATION/OFFSETS OF FUNDS.  All sales are FINAL, and UPON PURCHASE OF VEHICLE, BUYER WAIVES ALL RIGHTS TO FUTURE CLAIMS AND ASSERTIONS FOR ANY FUTURE COMPENSATION.

This is a terrific vehicle that has been well cared for!  Happy Bidding!!!!!

Ford recalls 650,000 trucks and SUVs for defective wipers

Thu, Apr 21 2022

Ford announced earlier this month that it is recalling 652,996 F-Series pickups, Expeditions and Lincoln Navigators produced for the 2020 and 2021 model years to address an issue that may cause their windshield wipers to separate, reducing visibility and leading to potentially hazardous driving conditions.  According to the Blue Oval, one of its suppliers used worn tooling components that resulted in wiper arms being produced with splines that are not tall enough to fully engage the motor pivots they're mounted to, which can cause the connection to strip when the motors are turned on. This could result in the wiper arms not moving at all, or engaging only intermittently.  "Worn wiper arm spline tooling core inserts at the supplier resulted in insufficient spline tooth height, which can cause the arm attachment to strip when used with a certain wiper motors with higher torque," Ford said in its defect report to NHTSA. "Potential symptoms include erratic or slow wipe speed of the driver or passenger wiper arm. An improper functioning wiper arm may potentially result in reduced visibility in certain conditions, which could increase the risk of a crash." Ford says the vehicles were not produced in VIN order, so while not all of the nearly 653,000 vehicles have bad wiper arms, they're all suspect until proven safe. Ford will notify owners of the recall campaign starting in May.  Related video: This content is hosted by a third party. To view it, please update your privacy preferences. Manage Settings. Monochromatic Package spreads to Lincoln's Corsair, Nautilus, and Aviator

Fri, Jul 10 2020

Lincoln is catering to buyers seeking a mostly chrome-free SUV by making the optional Monochromatic Package available on the Corsair, the Nautilus, and the Aviator. It was inaugurated by the Navigator in 2019. Inspired by current trends in fashion and interior design, the Monochromatic Package bundles a darker grille, tinted emblems, body-colored mirrors, and darkened trim pieces all around. It also includes black 20- or 22-inch alloy wheels, depending on the model. Lincoln made no mention of modifications in the cabin. 2021 Corsair and 2021 Aviator buyers who tick the Monochromatic Package box will be asked to choose from three colors named Pristine White, Infinite Black, and Asher Gray, respectively. The Monochromatic-equipped 2020 Nautilus will exclusively be offered in Infinite Black, while the 2020 Navigator carries on with Pristine White, Ceramic Pearl, and Infinite Black as its color options when buyers add the package. Lincoln hopes expanding the Monochromatic Package's availability will allow its SUVs to keep building momentum, but pricing information hasn't been announced yet. For context, the chrome-free look costs $3,495 on the 2020 Navigator, and it's exclusively offered on the mid-range Reserve model priced at $83,665. Like parent company Ford, Lincoln is increasingly reliant on its crossovers and SUVs. It confirmed its last two sedans, the MKZ and the Continental, will retire without a replacement in sight after the 2020 model year.

Hot-selling Ford Expedition, Lincoln Navigator get production boost

Mon, Feb 12 2018

Ford is investing an additional $25 million in its Kentucky Truck Plant in Louisville to increase by 25 percent production of the hot-selling and all-new Lincoln Navigator and Ford Expedition SUVs. The investment adds to $900 million in previously announced spending at the plant, which also builds F-Series Super-Duty pickups and employs 8,400 workers. Assembly-line workers are putting in overtime and working voluntary weekend shifts to keep up with demand. The new investment will cover upgrades to the assembly line but does not involve further hiring, Ford spokeswoman Kelli Felker says. The popularity of the Ford Expedition and Lincoln Navigator is a bright spot as Ford stock has been battered by Wall Street amid concerns concerns about the automaker's future vision and slowness to detect trends. Ford says the investment is an example of its bid to improve "operational fitness," one of CEO Jim Hackett's common refrains. Ford says Navigator retail sales more than doubled in January, and Navigators are spending an average of just seven days on Lincoln dealership lots as customers trade in vehicles including Land Rovers and Mercedes-Benz. Nearly 85 percent of buyers are opting for high-end Black Label and Reserve trim packages, contributing to an average transaction price increase of more than $21,000 in January compared to a year ago. The 2018 Navigator won the North American Truck of the Year award and also topped a Detroit News poll of public favorites at last month's Detroit Auto Show. Sales of the Expedition, meanwhile, were up almost 57 percent last month as the full-size SUVs also spent an average of just a week on dealer lots. Platinum trim models represented 29 percent of sales, pushing transaction price increases up $7,800. Ford gave the 2018 Expedition an all-aluminum body to save mass in its first significant redesign since 2007. The plant last year got nearly 400 new robots, mainly in the body shop, to help increase line speed, and Ford added a robot lab where employees can test software tweaks or troubleshoot issues away from the factory floor. The Louisville plant also benefits from extensive new data analytics, with seven big-screen monitors providing minute-by-minute updates showing progress against hourly targets or alerting workers to pending parts shortages. A huge spare-parts "vending machine" lets workers more quickly locate needed parts and keep inventory at necessary levels.
