BILL BLASS MARK VI LINCOLN CONTENENTAL COUPE "May be the ONLY one with CARBERATOR vs Fuel Injection" 49390 miles (82317Kilometers) I am pleased to present for your consideration an extraordinary example of craftsmanship from the upscale Mark VI series offered from 1980 through 1983. This Lincoln is Auto Check clean and correct kilometers. The car originated from Canada so it was produced with a CARBERATOR vs. fuel injection making this very rare and collectible. The car went from Canada with one owner, then to Massachusetts for the second owner and finally to Maine where I obtained this beauty. This glistening White and Red Bill Blass designer model was a special ordered with a unique combination of factory options, including a simulated convertible top material which is then fitted onto the metal roof. The gleaming set of rare factory wire wheels have Lincoln logo spinner center caps (1 missing) and been equipped with Michelin correct radials with white walls (front drivers tire is a little worn at the edge). The white with red trim leather interior shows in very good condition, and features a 50/50 split bench with dual power seats. The seats are very soft and comfortable. 49390 original miles. (Speedometer is in Kilometers 82317). Odometer works but speed works only some time. There are duel illuminated vanity mirrors. The sound system works and looks original. The car looks, runs, drives excellent, the 302 CID V-8 responding effortlessly to the driver’s urging and very quiet. Climate control air conditioning needs charging. Cruise control not working. Tilt steering wheel. Automatic dimmers. All gauges seem function; I did not try the power antenna and even the thermometer on the remote control mirror works! Keyless entry (original factory card with # included) works fine, facilitating the opening/locking of either door and /or trunk. The engine compartment is clean. The chrome door handles have some pitting, the mirrors have pitting. The car has the small rubber plugs because it has been undercoated when new. The underside looks very good. Picture this beautiful Bill Blass Lincoln Mark VI in your driveway or at work waiting for the ride home. Rides to the store and work will be fun again. I have been finding and selling Classic Cars for many years. I selected this Model because it is a rare model and w/the unique set up with the carb. I like to drive the best myself and you will too. I love the convertible look feature. Records and books included. 1982 Lincoln Serial #1MRBP95F3CY620432. Mark VI 5.0 Litre Engine. Original Owners Cards. How long will the 'golden age' of performance last?

Sat, Mar 26 2016

High-powered sports and luxury cars were everywhere at the New York Auto Show, prompting the obvious question for enthusiasts: How long will this golden age of performance last? Industry leaders have some time before regulations elevate the Corporate Average Fuel Economy level in 2025. Even then, they expect cars rippling with power to survive in some form. "Is it the end of an era," I don't think so," said Ola Kallenius, Daimler AG board member for Mercedes-Benz cars marketing and sales. "That performance element of individual mobility I don't think will ever go away." Kallenius, who oversaw the company's AMG division from 2010-2013, expects it to continue to grow. Last year, AMG sold a record 68,875 units around the world, an increase of 44.6 percent over 2014, with strong growth in the US, China, and Germany. Still, there's always the potential for gas to spike, and pending fuel economy regulations are looming. That could lead AMG to add electrification to its products, Kallenius said, pointing to the electric SLS as a test case. Chevy is also thinking ahead, said Al Oppenheiser, chief engineer of the Camaro. He wouldn't bite when asked about electrification for the Camaro (he did say "never say never"), but admitted in 2025 "it's going to be pretty tough to sell V8s." For now, things are rosy for muscle cars, and Chevy confidently showcased the 640-hp Camaro ZL1 in coupe and convertible form in New York. "I think that this is truly the golden age of performance," Oppenheiser said. It's hard to disagree. News & Analysis News: The 2017 Mazda MX-5 Miata RF was a show-stopper in New York. Analysis: There was a palpable energy when this RF — for Retractable Fastback — was revealed the night before the show at a trendy off-site venue near the Hudson River. Even as a parade of SUVs and flashy luxury cars rolled out the rest of the week, the Miata remained a hot topic. The Retractable Fastback is really a clever targa top, with part of the roof stowing behind the seats, adding about 100 pounds compared to the standard convertible. It makes the car more practical and arguably more attractive. The RF continues Mazda's tradition of selling the Miata with a hardtop variant. The first and second generations offered a detachable one, and a power retractable hardtop (a $1,700 option) was available on third-gen models. Judging by its reception in New York, the RF could prove to be even more popular than its predecessors.

2022 Lincoln Navigator priced at just $5 more than last year

Thu, Jan 20 2022

The 2022 Lincoln Navigator still isn't listed on the Lincoln site at the time of writing, but Ford Authority says it has a price — one you'll not be surprised to hear is higher than that of the 2021 Navigator. The 2022 Navigator Standard sets the baseline with an MSRP of $76,710, or $78,405 with destination, a trifle of an up-charge at just $5 more than last year's trim. After that, premiums for the tech and feature updates given to the new Navigator climb quickly except in the case of the lengthened Standard L in rear-wheel-drive guise. That trim comes down by $200 on its MSRP, going up overall by $200 because of the updated destination fee, totaling $81,400.    2022 Navigator prices and their differences from last year are: Standard: $78,405 ($5) Standard L: $81,400 ($200) Reserve: $89,100 ($4,955) Reserve L: $91,770 ($4,760) Standard 4WD: $81,405 ($735) Standard L 4WD: $84,400 ($530) Reserve 4WD: $91,440 ($1,760) Reserve L 4WD: $94,465 ($4,785) Black Label 4WD: $104,675 ($4,725) Black Label L 4WD: $107,720 ($4,570) All Navigators will benefit from Lincoln Enhance, the brand name for Lincoln's over-the-air software update capability, and the improved Amazon Alexa integration that can respond to more natural language. The substantial rises on the Reserve and Black Label trims pay for ActiveGlide and CoPilot360 2.0. ActiveGlide is the advanced driver assistance tech that allows hands-free highway driving if the right conditions are met (it's known as BlueCruise on Fords). Using adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go capability, lane centering and traffic sign recognition, the system can be activated on more than 130,000 miles of divided highways in North America. To help ensure hands-free doesn't turn into attention-free, ActiveGlide monitors the driverÂ’s head and eye positions with a driver-facing camera. Lincoln Co-Pilot360 2.0 bundles more ADAS like forward collision warning, pedestrian detection, and dynamic brake support, and for 2022 adds Intersection Assist and Active Sense Park Assist 2.0. Lincoln's first full EV coming in 2022 as part of electrification push

Wed, Jun 16 2021

Ford may be grabbing all the electric headlines right now, but soon Lincoln will be snagging a few, too. In a presentation to the media, the company outlined its electrification strategy for this decade, and it really kicks off next year with the first full electric Lincoln. Lincoln hasn't said much about what this 2022 EV will be like, not even whether it will be a crossover or a sedan. But the company did say the EV will be based on a modular electric platform supporting rear- or all-wheel drive. It's a new platform not related to the current Mustang Mach-E. This electric vehicle will also be the first of four full EVs launched between now and 2030. Lincoln will also increase its electrification of internal-combustion models. The goal is for the entire line-up to be electrified by 2030, and half of the brand's volume is expected to be electrified around 2026. Besides electrification, Lincoln highlighted some other steps it was taking to make the brand and the ownership experience more appealing. Technology and services were highlights. It's putting out its first over-the-air updates for the Lincoln Nautilus this summer with improvements for navigation, Apple CarPlay and the digital owner's manual. Amazon Alexa assistant is coming to Lincolns this fall, and hands-free driving assist is coming later. Lincoln is also playing with new services, such as a refueling and car cleaning service that's being tested in Houston. Finally, the company is adding more standalone retail stores with a new, more luxurious and customer-focused design. Related video: This content is hosted by a third party.
