Hello,

Im selling my 1978 lincoln mark V 2 door coupe. This has been a father and son project for the past 2 years. Due to medical issues in the family we no longer can continue to work on it. I has all the original paperwork from 1978. The original registration card, vin card, owners Manuel, and picture of it brand new, ect... ONLY 70,229 org miles on title. I brought it from the original owners son, the father had passed away. Heres a little about the car:

The body- The body is in good shape for its age. the paint will still shine up but in some spots bubbles of surface rust is starting to show threw. Below the moldings on both sides has surface rust. ( As shown is pictures ) On the driver side bottom of the fender there was a rust hole and prior owner filled it in with foam type material. All the body lines are straight and there is no sign of bondo or plastic repair. The top is in good shape with no fading or rips. bumpers are ok. one reverse light lens cracked.

The Interior- the interior is in great shape for its age. There is a small tear in the drivers seat. ( as shown in pictures ) dash is in great shape with no fading or cracks. Carpet is perfect with no stains. Headliner is in good shape with no sagging. All gauges work. All interior lights work. Factory handheld cb radio works. Radio and speakers work. NEEDS...The drivers seat does not go forward or back. ( did work when i got it and one day stopped ) The tilt and lumbar still works. The driver side window goes down but off track so need to help to go back up. ( Window motor is ok, just off track )

The drivetrain- It has a 460ci v8. Starts right up and runs. It does need a tune up and maybe some fresh gas but does run ok the way it is. It does not leak or burn a drop of oil. It does NOT rattle, smoke, shake or make any other funny nosies. the transmission shifts good with no lag or hesitation. NEEDS a rear brake line. ( crimped off so still can drive it if needed.

COMES WITH EXTRA RIMS AND TIRES, OTHER MISC PARTS.

I know that the car still needs some tlc but it is getting hard to find one with low miles and drivable all original. I try to be as honest and accurate as i can with my descriptions and highlight the "bads" so all bidders know exactly what they are bidding on.   The car is still registered and insured and driven here and there.

Lincoln says MKZ supply crisis over

Mon, 25 Mar 2013

After an excessive number of recalls on the 2013 Escape and Fusion, we can't really fault Ford for being a little extra cautious with the launch of the 2013 Lincoln MKZ. Last month, we reported that dealer supply of the car was extremely limited due to more attention being paid to quality checks of cars rolling off the assembly line, which led to a 73-percent drop in MKZ sales from last year on top of a 32-year low in monthly sales for Lincoln in January.
The reason for the delay was that the sedans were being shipped from the Hermosillo, Mexico assembly plant to be inspected even closer at Ford's Flat Rock, Michigan plant before they were able to head to dealers. Things seem to be straightening out for Lincoln and the MKZ's production now, as Automotive News is reporting that supply should be up to a "normal level" by the end of this month.

Lincoln prepping MKZ re-launch?

Thu, 04 Apr 2013

Launching an all-new car is no easy task. Case in point is the 2013 Lincoln MKZ, introduced with the fanfare of a major nationwide marketing campaign, including expensive Super Bowl ads, just as Ford was curbing production over potential quality issues. The resulting mess was nothing short of a nightmare for any automaker - customers visiting dealerships looking for cars that hadn't been delivered yet. Disappointed buyers walked out of Lincoln retailers without new keys in their hands, or switched to a competing brand to fill empty spaces in their driveways.
The impact was painful, as Lincoln's sales in January and February of this year were among the lowest it has recorded in more than a quarter century. Even though March looked a bit brighter, with the supply crisis reportedly over (there are 3,000 units in transit and production is approaching 200 units per day) the automaker is reportedly studying the feasibility of giving its pivotal MKZ the launch it originally deserved.
According to TheDetroitBureau.com, putting the MKZ back on consumer's radar could cost Ford tens of millions of dollars, but that kind of investment may be warranted if potential buyers have forgotten about the new model... or worse, if they have forgotten about Lincoln.

Lincoln scales back free maintenance

Wed, 05 Jun 2013

Complimentary scheduled maintenance programs have been great tools for luxury automakers to draw in new customers, but some are starting to scale their programs back considerably. According to Automotive News, Lincoln is joining Jaguar and Volvo on the list of automakers reducing the length of time it will be providing free maintenance to its customers.
Lincoln's four-year/50,000-mile maintenance program first kicked off as an incentive in 2010 and became permanent later that year, but starting with the 2014 model year, this will be cut to just two years and 24,000 miles. This could make short-term leases even more appealing for some consumers, but according to Automotive News, some Lincoln dealers are unhappy with the scaling back. The move admittedly comes at an odd time for Lincoln, with parent Ford seemingly working hard to increase consideration among luxury buyers as it looks to reverse the marque's long decline.
