Here is something you do not see every day, a gorgeous original 1982 Lincoln Continental in exceptional condition.  This car has been pampered, garaged, and treasured all of it’s life.  The 1982-87 Lincoln Continentals are seldom seen today, they are a rare body style; the ’82-83 cars are the rarest of them all. They feature very different styling cues when compared to the later cars, particularly in the front end treatment.  Perform a Google search for these two model years and see how many you find for sale in any condition, let alone in remarkable original condition like this one.

This car was custom ordered by its original owner in a very elegant color combination.  The understated platinum exterior is accented by bold burgundy/red bodyside moldings and burgundy/red dual band pin stripes.  The sumptuous leather interior is a gorgeous deep blue.  Wide whitewall tires are fitted to the original alloy wire wheels.  This Continental is STUNNING and turns heads wherever it goes.  People ask about this car constantly and often comment that they have never seen one before.

The paint is gorgeous and holds a beautiful gloss, a testament to it’s 100% garaged pedigree.  The only notable exterior flaw is one small ding on the rear wheel well molding (see photo). The interior is immaculate and supple; it could almost pass for a car with 22,000 miles.  Please examine the perfect dash, steering wheel, and spotless trunk. The only flaw is a small tear on the driver’s seat (see photo).  The car is in better cosmetic condition than most 4-5 year old Camrys.

The car is an original Southern California car and remained there until I purchased it eight years ago and moved it to the Seattle area, as a result there is absolutely no rust anywhere (see undercarriage photos).  It has just under 122,000 honest miles on it, which translates to just 3800 miles per year; very low mileage for it’s age. One feature that makes the 82-83s more desirable is that they do not have the problem plagued and complex front and rear air suspension that was standard on the 84-87 models, yet it rides so smooth and quiet you would think it does.  It also has Ford’s reliable, durable, and economical 5.0 (302) V8 with Ford’s fine 4-speed automatic overdrive transmission.   This drive train, coupled with the Continentals smaller size, make this a really nice modern drivable collectable.   It starts, idles, drives and shifts beautifully.    All power accessories work, including the trip computer.  The AC blows cold.

I have owned this Continental for eight great years and I’m really going to miss it, but I am now downsizing my collection of cars.  The time has come to find this wonderful 1982 Lincoln Continental another fine home  and for someone else to enjoy it.  This is a rare opportunity to acquire a really nice honest and original example of these cars. You will be the only kid on the block with one of these!  It is in excellent condition and  can be shown with pride immediately.  Included with the sale of this car are the 1982 Ford Motor Company Service Manuals that cover all Fox Body cars, including the Lincoln Continental.

The car is 32+ years old, so obviously it is sold as is, with no warranty expressed or implied. I have tried to describe the car in the best detail possible, but I may have missed something important to you. Please feel free to ask any questions you may have BEFORE bidding.  In person inspections are welcome and can be arranged.

A $500 NON-REFUNDABLE deposit is due within 24 hours of the end of the auction. The balance is due within 7 days of the end of the auction. Wire transfer for the balance is preferred.  Cashiers or personal check is okay, but verification of clearance will delay the release of the car. I am happy to work with your shipper once the car is paid for and I can provide indoor storage for the car up to 30 days after the end of the auction. I reserve the right to cancel all bids and end the auction early for local sale.  I am happy to work with International buyers. Please keep in mind car will need to be paid in full and clearance of payment will need to be verified prior to the car being released for transport.

I have had the same eBay id for nearly 9 years; my feedback speaks for itself.  This is a 'no surprises' car.

Lincoln putting perfume on its sales

Mon, 18 Aug 2014

Lincoln has a scent. But unlike those from Mustang, Lamborghini or even Shark by Tara, you can't buy it and you have to visit a Lincoln dealership to inhale its notes of jasmine hedione, mate tea leaves and tonka beans. Essence of Lincoln - that's what it's called - is being piped through the ventilation systems at some showrooms to help "create an emotional connection between the luxury brand and its customers," and olfactorily promote the idea of "luxury and warmth." Where it's not run through the ducts, visitors can sample it on scent cards.
Master perfumer Rene Morgenthaler worked with aroma house SensoryMax to design Essence of Lincoln. Also including traces of Earl Grey bergamot and green tea, whenever you encounter it you're meant to enjoy "a feeling of belonging to an exclusive, forward-thinking group that values style and success." And then buy an MKC. There's a press release below with details and an image to explain more, if you're still having a little trouble smelling the orange blossoms.

2021 Lincoln Corsair Grand Touring First Drive Review | Efficient, stylish and value-packed

Wed, Jan 12 2022

With the introduction of the compact Corsair Grand Touring, Lincoln adds its second plug-in hybrid model. Like its bigger Aviator sibling, the plug-in Corsair shares technology with a Ford, but provides additional performance and a substantially improved interior that make it a credible luxury vehicle. And compared to other small plug-in SUVs, the Lincoln has pluses and minuses, but still is an attractive package for the right buyer thanks to strong value, efficiency and style. The Lincoln Corsair Grand Touring, like its internal-combustion counterparts, is based on the Ford Escape. Up front, it uses the same naturally aspirated 2.5-liter four-cylinder and electric motor as the Ford Escape PHEV, not to mention a motor-based CVT. But it picks up a rear-mounted permanent-magnet motor to provide additional power and all-wheel drive. It makes 266 horsepower combined, an increase of 46 ponies over the Ford. Compared with other Corsairs, it's just 16 horsepower more than the base Corsair with its turbocharged 2.0-liter engine, and it's down 26 horsepower from models with the optional turbo 2.3-liter engine. It's low on power compared to other slightly larger plug-in competitors such as the 304-horsepower Lexus NX 450e as well as the Audi Q5 E-Tron and BMW X5 xDrive45e, both of which make more than 350 horsepower. On the other hand, the Lincoln offers strong fuel efficiency. On a full charge, it can go an EPA-rated 28 miles on electricity. Running in gasoline-only mode, it gets 33 mpg. The aforementioned BMW can go 31 miles on a charge, but gets a paltry 20 mpg on gasoline only. The Q5 only goes 19 miles on a charge and gets 27 mpg on gas. The Lexus is the only one to top the Lincoln with 37 miles of EV range, and a gas-only fuel economy of 36 mpg. In practice, the Lincoln is, as you would expect of the numbers, no sports car, focusing instead on smoothness and reasonable refinement. Power delivery is extremely smooth, and there's no noticeable vibration added when the gas engine comes into play. You will hear it when it comes on, though, and it's not especially smooth. Thankfully, Lincoln has added more sound deadening as well as active noise cancellation to the Corsair in comparison to the Escape, so overall engine volume is low. Also, while the Corsair isn't fast, the torque from the electric motors means it's nippy around town. Being a plug-in hybrid, some of the Corsair's appeal is the ability to drive on full electric power.

2023 Lincoln Aviator gets a few small changes, small price bumps

Wed, Dec 28 2022

The 2023 Lincoln Aviator Lincoln makes a few small changes to its offer, as related by Ford Authority. On the feature side, the 12-way Comfort Front Seats for driver and passenger are gone. The bottom three trims, Standard, Reserve and Grand Touring all come with a 10-way Comfort Front Seat for the driver and an eight-way throne for the passenger. The Black Label and Grand Touring continue with their 30-way Perfect Position front seats. Outside, the Bronze Smoke Metallic and Burgundy Velvet Metallic colors depart the exterior palette, replaced by Diamond Red Metallic Tinted Clearcoat and Jewel Sandstone. The Jet Package expands availability to the base Reserve trim, no longer requiring the Reserve I package, and to the Black Label, which didn't offer it before. The package full of black trim pieces and wheels hasn't changed from when Lincoln introduced it a year ago, including bits like a solid black grille and surround, black door spears and mirror caps, and 22-inch black aluminum wheels. A similar package exclusively for the Black Label trims is called the Black Label Special Edition Package. It makes the same changes as the Jet Package while also painting the roof black. Finally, the Illumination Package for the Grand Touring PHEV adds fog lights for 2023. Prices for the 2023 model year after the $1,195 destination charge are up a little over the sums we noted when the 2022 model year debuted. Remember, however, that 2022 pricing went down on all but one trim by anywhere from $5 to $1,085. The new MSRPs are in line with model year premiums we're used to seeing from a time before industrial upheaval. The figures and their differences from 2022 are: Standard: $54,535 ($1,875) Reserve: $59,700 ($1,150) Grand Touring: $70,385 ($830) Black Label: $81,920 ($1,375) Black Label Grand Touring: $90,475 ($1,375) Engine choices don't change, those being the twin-turbo 3.0-liter EcoBoost V6 with 400 horsepower and 415 pound-feet of torque for all trims but the Grand Touring PHEV. The plug-in hybrid electrifies that engine to make a combined 494 hp and 630 lb-ft. Every Aviator shifts through a ten-speed automatic. The Aviator has sold 20,324 units so far this year. Based on figures for the past three years, we anticipate it will finish above last year's 20,324 sales and 2020's tally of 23,080 sales. A refresh expected in 2024 should bring more substantial updates and improvements.  Related video: This content is hosted by a third party.
