This is a 1979 Lincoln Continental with 70,100 original miles. From my understanding this is the last year of the huge Lincolns, folks I am no car expert, I bought the car because it was so cool and I always wanted one, unfortunately I need the money and the car has to go. The car is in outstanding condition with absolutely no rust, and I was told it was stored in a heated warehouse for many years. There is a small rust bubble near the pass rear door, it is NOT a hole. There's no way a car that's 33 years old can be in this good of condition stored in a barn in Northeast Ohio, so the warehouse story sounds probable. The car runs and drives great, I acquired the car a year ago, and fixed some minor problems such as a missing emblem in the steering wheel, had the brakes re-done (even the brake drums have the original factory paint marks). It does run a little rough when it's cold, probably could use a carb rebuild since a tune up didn't help. The car is complete and unrestored and from what we can tell everything is original except the battery and the A/C compressor.
The car was Factory Undercoated (I think this was actually done at the dealership), but the undercoating is in great shape and not peeling. Some kind of spray was applied to the engine compartment, which looks weathered, but everything, including the vacuum canisters, look new with NO rust. The vinyl top has NO cuts or wear, the interior is in fantastic condition, except for a small wear mark on the rear seat. The trunk has all the mats that are UNSTAINED and like new, the jack looks like it has never been taken out of its holder. The paint is in excellent shape, but it does look like someone buffed the heck out of it and there are some swirl marks. The only thing that doesn't work is the Cartier clock. This car needs nothing and can be driven anywhere. The brakes are VERY touchy, it'll lock up all 4 tires easily to bring the beast to a halt.
Included are the original owner's manual, and original warranty card. Don't know if the 8-track works, I don't have a good tape and don't want to ruin it if the tape gets eaten. The power antenna is very cool and works fine.
Wow, does this car drive nice. It floats down the road and gets up to 70mph before you know it. Just sitting behind the wheel with that huge hood in front of you, how cool is that? What a land yacht.Gosh, wish I could upload more pics so that I could show every little ding and the entire car, I try to represent the car as accurately as possible. Take a look at my satisfaction rating (100%), and I intend to keep it. Since I've sold a couple of my cars on Ebay, all the buyer's were happy. The car isn't mint or perfect or a museum piece, but for the price, well..it is a real head-turner and fun to drive. If you wanted to restore it, everything is there, and it would be an easy restoration. Good luck bidding, serious buyers please submit questions and we can get in touch to answer any questions you may have.

2019 Lincoln Continental will cost as much as $5,000 more
Fri, Sep 7 2018Rumors have been swirling for months about the fate of the slow-selling Lincoln Continental amid Ford's larger plans to pare cars from its lineup in favor of trucks and SUVs. But now comes word of official order guides that show the 2019 Continental priced as much as $4,925 more than the previous year's model. That price bump brings more perks for buyers, however. According to CarsDirect, all models will get adaptive cruise control and the Lincoln Co-Pilot360 suite of safety technology, which includes automatic emergency braking, blind-spot information system and rearview camera. The base level Continental Premiere will start at $47,140, including destination fee, which is $985 more than the 2018 model. The Reserve model is where the starting price jumps $4,925 to $60,705. It adds technology like a 360-degree camera, heads-up display and park assist, plus heated rear seats and steering wheel and windshield wiper de-icer. The top-of-the-line Black Label edition starts at $71,040, an increase of $4,630, and adds 30-way adjustable seats. Those prices are considerably cheaper than comparably equipped competitors like the Audi A8 or BMW 7 Series, of course, but that value proposition hasn't so far managed to help the sedan's fortunes. Lincoln sold 12,012 models of the Continental in 2017, according to CarSalesBase.com. Sales through August were 5,677, which is more than 29 percent off the pace at this same point last year. Lincoln revived the storied Continental nameplate back in 2015 to much fanfare, but its market release in 2016 was a victim of bad timing, coming amid a rising tide of crossovers. Earlier this year Lincoln reportedly showed dealers photos of a Continental with rear-hinged suicide doors that it said it planned to manufacture, which may be an attempt to drum up interest. Jalopnik, citing unnamed sources familiar with Ford's product plans, says the Continental is likely to be killed off at the end of the run of the current model in 2020. That aligns with what a user on the Blue Oval Forums is saying, that shift changes at the Flat Rock Assembly plant near Detroit are coming and that workers have been told the Continental can be phased out of production by next summer. One supposed possibility is Ford moving production to China, though any plans to import sedans to the U.S. from there would seemingly be negated by the same Trump administration tariffs that killed plans to import the Ford Focus Active. Report: Lincoln getting all of Mercury's ad dollars
Mon, 03 Jan 2011Now that the curtain has closed on Mercury, Ford Motor Company will redirect all of its marketing dollars for the oft-overlooked brand to the Blue Oval's luxury outpost, Lincoln. In speaking to Automotive News, the chairman of the Lincoln National Dealer Council, Bob Tasca, Jr., said, "You'll see a lot stronger presence in the advertising of Lincoln in 2011."
Lincoln spokesperson Christian Bokich reminded AN that the automaker is "preparing the way for seven new or significantly refreshed vehicles" that will be launched over the next four years, and the largest ad blitz in 2011 will focus on the refreshed MKX crossover, as well as the MKZ sedan and its hybrid counterpart. Following that, Lincoln has plans to launch a completely overhauled version of its Navigator SUV, an all-new C-segment vehicle and the overhauled 2013 MKZ, which Tasca says will be "strikingly different from its Ford Fusion sibling."

Production 2017 Lincoln Continental arrives with 400-hp V6
Tue, Jan 12 2016Lincoln still isn't saying much about its new flagship, the long-awaited Continental. Instead, it's got to get everyone's attention. The brand that's been threatening to get a genuine luxury game going for years probably wants people to sit inside the fullsize sedan to learn what it's got, and we think that's a great idea. One good bit we know is that the new Continental is powered by a 3.0-liter, twin-turbo V6 with "a projected" 400 horsepower and 400 pound-feet of torque. We also know the marketing folks have the luxury-speak down, with lavish promises of heated, cooled, and massaging Perfect Position 30-way seats that adjust to shape and weight, as well as climate-controlled seats for rear passengers that also recline, and "generous rear legroom." Themed interior appointments come in Chalet, Thoroughbred, and Rhapsody selections, perceived-quality boosted further by a specific number of stitches-per-inch on the leather, a laser-cut door on the instrument panel, and real wood and aluminum trim. Acoustic laminated glass, active noise control, and available Revel audio are meant to insure serenity. Technology points are scored with optional adaptive steering and all-wheel drive, three drive modes, dynamic torque vectoring, surround-view cameras, adaptive cruise control, and pre-collision braking. We will really begin to know the new Continental when we sit in it later today at the Detroit Auto Show, for now there's the press release below.
