Up for auction is a 1979 Lincoln Continental Town Car Collector Series, this car nelhas not been driven on road basically for almost 20 years. Its basically would get driven around the neighborhood a few times a year. I have the original book, and the garage door opener kit that came with the car back in 79. The last time it was plated was in 1989. This car is in very good condition but it is a original car, the car from 10 feet away looks to be perfect, but when close there are some things. The deck lid, and hood do have sun fade and should basically be repainted. The sides the paint is glossy and smooth but does have a few dings and nicks, the deck lid has a 4-5 inch scratch and a ding on top of the right read quarter panel from somthing in garage falling on it. The front has rock chips that have been touched up over the years. I did take pictures as best as I could of everyting.. All the chrome is in excellent shape, the wheels, trim, roof, grille all in great shape. The inside is perfect, and everything works, windows, seats, dash lights and all outside lights in working order. Only issue is the Fuel light is wrong because the "sending unit" is bad we beleive. I am helping sell this car for my grandparents as it was friends car that has passed away and no one in the family is good with computer. The car was taken very good care of, and starts upand literlly drives perfect. I was doing 70 mph on freeway and its tight and smooth, shocks are good, tires are good. Overall its in awesome shape for being 30 years old! I am trying to describe the car as best as I can, and I want to make sure people know what they are getting. I would prefer somoen to come look at in person to see the car before any purchase just so they can be happy. If you have any questions please let me know and I will do my best to return them asap.

Ford's Jim Farley hints at Lincoln sales rebound
Thu, 25 Apr 2013If you're a fan of Lincoln, get ready for "a really great story" come May 1. That's how Ford marketing boss Jim Farley, in a call with analysts, characterized the coming April sales report for the MKZ. At the moment, there are probably few things that the executive VP could want more than a happy ending for the ballyhooed sedan that has made people cry boo-hoo for the past six months.
The massive glass roof of the MKZ is trying to support a burden that would make Atlas tap out, and it hasn't shattered, but it has shown a few cracks. The car we called "a big step in the right direction," the embodiment of the reinvention of the brand and a test of Lincoln's commitment to a new rear-wheel drive offering was given an $8-million dollar Super Bowl ad spend earlier this year, then quality control issues during its assembly scuttled deliveries. Lincoln got over that and kept up the ad blitz, now it just wants the good work to take hold.
If Farley's not leading us on, April could be the month. He said the results (so far) show "the product is being very well-received," inventory is finally where it should be and the MKZ Hybrid is doing better than expected. It bears noting that Lincoln is offering some aggressive incentive programs at the moment, including 0.9-percent APR and $1,000 off for conquest buyers stepping out of competitors' vehicles.

2016 Lincoln MKX First Drive [w/video]
Thu, Sep 10 2015The Lincoln Motor Company was one of America's great luxury symbols of the 20th Century. It grew from an aircraft engine maker during the First World War to become the car of presidents. The jaw-dropping Continental concept revealed earlier this year is a clear indication that Lincoln plans to build on its history and recapture some of that luxury magic. While the image of a powerful Continental thundering over a tony Westchester road is certainly romantic, it does little to sell cars today. Enter the 2016 Lincoln MKX. Flagships like the Continental are great, but Americans buy way more crossovers, and Lincoln's redesign of the MKX focuses on the needs of modern luxury customers. That means more and better safety features, a quiet interior with attractive materials, and classy exterior design. The potent 2.7-liter twin-turbo V6 pushes out 335 horsepower, outperforming V6 offerings from Lexus and Acura. There's also a new engine – Ford's potent 2.7-liter twin-turbo V6 pushing out 335 horsepower – that outguns V6 offerings from Lexus and Acura. All told, it's a tasteful redesign with some spotlight features that might turn a few more customers Lincoln's way. The updates are intriguing, yet many of them (aside from the V6's 380 pound-feet of torque) are rather subtle. So we grab the key fob to an attractive all-wheel-drive model decked out with the Reserve package and set out for a long weekend to absorb the new MKX. Several days of running errands around town, commuting, and a three-and-half-hour drive from metro Detroit to the northern tip of Michigan lay ahead of us. We're going to be spending a lot of time in the MKX, so naturally, we take stock of the interior. Our tester (we photographed a different one) is done up in a cappuccino leather theme, which means brown leather for the steering wheel, armrests, and the tops of the door panels. Another chocolately strip bisects the dashboard. The rest of the cabin – the headliner, the seats, the sides of the doors, etc. – is a creamy white. We sink into the seats, which are cushy yet supportive. The headrest is like a pillow, and the plush floormats feel made for bare feet. The touchscreen works well, and it's complemented by redundant buttons and switches, which we like. The MKX is generally user friendly. The touchscreen works well, with little poking or jabbing. It's complemented by redundant buttons and switches, which we like.
