1969 Lincoln Continental

You are looking at a piece of history; a 1969 Lincoln Continental. It is very hard to even find pieces to these cars, let alone find a whole car, and one that could run and drive with very minor repairs. This car is currently in “project” form. This is NOT a show car by any means and has not been restored. It has been left in its “original” condition and will make for an absolutely great restoration project. Once this car is in running condition, you will not be able to pull it out of the driveway without someone asking you questions about it or people taking pictures of it. It will be an absolute blast to own and drive. After a complete restoration, you would have one very rare and hard to find car.

This is a true “barn find.” It was bought after sitting in a barn for a very long time. It was parked there untouched for years, making this an even rarer find. You find Lincoln’s all over the place that have been highly modified, but not this one. You are being given the chance to own a car that will make for a great project. It would be very hard to even put a price on this car after a complete restoration was completed.

The following is what makes this car such a great vehicle:

THE GOOD:

-         CLEAN AND CLEAR TITLE IN HAND

-         VIN: 9Y82A885400

-         49,750 miles

-         460 V8 Engine

-         All original car

-         Very solid inside and out

-         Will fire and run (idle)

-         True barn find

-         All trim pieces are present

-         All glass is present

-         All chrome is present

-         A complete interior is present

-         All lights are present

-         Power everything

-         New battery

-         New tires

-         Suicide rear doors

-         Minor rust

-         Badges are present

-         Great looking under body

-         Top is in fair shape

-         Mirrors are present

-         Body is very solid

-         Original steering wheel and dash

-         Clock in passenger dash

-         Seats are in great shape

-         A luxury vehicle in its day

-         Comfortable and spacious

-         Motor is complete

-         MUST SEE IN PERSON

THE BAD:

-         Has been sitting for over five years.

-         It will start and run, but certainly needs a good tune up.

-         The brakes feel soft, therefore it is NOT listing as a RUNNING and DRIVING car.

-         Power window switch has a short in it. They do work sometimes.

-         Looks to have been repainted at one time, but it is hard to tell.

-         Some interior pieces of the drive door panel are loose.

-         The headliner on the drive side has a hole in it.

-         The car will have to be towed/hauled to its destination.

-         The exact mileage is unknown. The dash reads 49,750.

I know I am forgetting a few things, but I have done my best to list everything that this car has or includes. You will be very pleased with the attention it gets after it has been restored, or even in the condition is currently sits. There are endless possibilities with this car. You could literally leave it exactly as it sits, tune it up, and drive it for years. You could invest thousands in order to make it the fully restored piece of history. You could install your choice of replacement parts to have the car meet your preferences. The list goes on and on forever. This is a 1969 Lincoln Continental! There is no other car like it, and it is by far the coolest vehicle I have ever seen.

Please, keep in mind this vehicle is considered an antique. It is by no means a show car or a “perfect” condition car. You absolutely must see it in person to appreciate it! I will not haul the car for you to decide if you like it or not. You are the buyer; therefore, you are responsible for all parts on your end of the sale (i.e. shipping, title transfer, registration, insurance, inspection, and so on).

Autoblog's Editors' Picks: Our complete list of the best new vehicles

Mon, May 13 2024

It's not easy to earn an “EditorsÂ’ Picks” at Autoblog as part of the rating and review process that every new vehicle goes through. Our editors have been at it a long time, which means weÂ’ve driven and reviewed virtually every new car you can go buy on the dealer lot. There are disagreements, of course, and all vehicles have their strengths and weaknesses, but this list features what we think are the best new vehicles chosen by Autoblog editors. We started this formal review process back in 2018, so there's quite of few of them now. So what does it mean to be an EditorsÂ’ Pick? In short, it means itÂ’s a car that we can highly recommend purchasing. There may be one, multiple, or even zero vehicles in any given segment that we give the green light to. What really matters is that itÂ’s a vehicle that weÂ’d tell a friend or family member to go buy if theyÂ’re considering it, because itÂ’s a very good car. The best way to use this list is is with the navigation links below. Click on a segment, and you'll quickly arrive at the top rated pickup truck or SUV, for example. Use the back button to return to these links and search in another segment, like sedans. If youÂ’ve been keeping up with our monthly series of the latest vehicles to earn EditorsÂ’ Pick status, youÂ’re likely going to be familiar with this list already. If not, welcome to the complete list that weÂ’ll be keeping updated as vehicles enter (and others perhaps exit) the good graces of our editorial team. We rate a new car — giving it a numerical score out of 10 — every time thereÂ’s a significant refresh or if it happens to be an all-new model. Any given vehicle may be impressive on a first drive, but we wait until itÂ’s in the hands of our editors to put it through the same type of testing as every other vehicle that rolls through our test fleet before giving it the EditorsÂ’ Pick badge. This ensures consistency and allows more voices to be heard on each individual model. And just so you donÂ’t think weÂ’ve skipped trims or variants of a model, we hand out the EditorsÂ’ Pick based on the overarching model to keep things consistent. So, when you read that the 3 Series is an EditorsÂ’ Pick, yes, that includes the 330i to the M3 and all the variants in between. If thereÂ’s a particular version of that car we vehemently disagree with, we make sure to call that out.

Ford recalls 650,000 trucks and SUVs for defective wipers

Thu, Apr 21 2022

Ford announced earlier this month that it is recalling 652,996 F-Series pickups, Expeditions and Lincoln Navigators produced for the 2020 and 2021 model years to address an issue that may cause their windshield wipers to separate, reducing visibility and leading to potentially hazardous driving conditions.  According to the Blue Oval, one of its suppliers used worn tooling components that resulted in wiper arms being produced with splines that are not tall enough to fully engage the motor pivots they're mounted to, which can cause the connection to strip when the motors are turned on. This could result in the wiper arms not moving at all, or engaging only intermittently.  "Worn wiper arm spline tooling core inserts at the supplier resulted in insufficient spline tooth height, which can cause the arm attachment to strip when used with a certain wiper motors with higher torque," Ford said in its defect report to NHTSA. "Potential symptoms include erratic or slow wipe speed of the driver or passenger wiper arm. An improper functioning wiper arm may potentially result in reduced visibility in certain conditions, which could increase the risk of a crash." Ford says the vehicles were not produced in VIN order, so while not all of the nearly 653,000 vehicles have bad wiper arms, they're all suspect until proven safe. Ford will notify owners of the recall campaign starting in May.  Related video: This content is hosted by a third party. To view it, please update your privacy preferences. Manage Settings.
