·       This is a strong #2 if not a #1 car, perfect in most every way. I can't really find any significant flaws on this car. It would win 1st prize in most shows (as it already has) or drive her for many stares and thumbs up!

·       AACA National Prize Winner (grill mounted badge) with numerous additional trophies including LCOC First Place awards included with the car (as shown in photos).

·       Body, paint, interior, chrome, undercarriage in perfect condition.  No rust, dings, fading or pitting anywhere.  Paint & chrome shine like new!

·       Speedometer works perfectly as well as all indicator lights.

·       The cars suspension has been upgraded to an air-ride suspension system by Air Ride Technologies with an electronic controller professionally mounted in ashtray on front dash.  This dramatically improves the ride and handling over a regular suspension and gives you options on the height and look of the car.  The controller allows you to adjust each wheel independently or programmed to adjust all four.  Ideal if you want to change out the wheels and tires for a restomod look.

·       Power radio antennae works perfectly by a remote switch mounted under dash.

·       Car drives and rides like a dream.  Starts right up, idles perfectly and engine runs strong.

·       Engine compartment looks like showroom new.

·       Binder includes original “Build Sheet”.

SOME HISTORY FROM THE BINDER (Used by a typewriter):

“In 1976, Fred Smith, owner of Fred Smith Lincoln Mercury of Independence, Missouri, purchased this car from the original owner.  This showcase vehicle was personally used by Mr. Smith for Shriner parades and other classic displays.  During the twelve years Mr. Smith owned the car ’76-’88 extensive restoration work be factory trained authorized Lincoln mechanics was performed on the engine, transmission, electrical and brakes.  At 70,000 miles Good Year wide white radial tires were included.  Since 1988 to present, current owner has continued maintaining & driving this car weekly (weather permitting) restoration on body & chrome including clock, radio, mirrors & knobs all restored to original.  Carefully and correctly maintained a grand representation to end of an era.”

From what I can tell from the binder in 1993 the car had extensive restoration again to perfection by Baker’s Auto in Putnam, CT. at a cost of approx. $30,000.  Very little miles since this restoration have been placed on this car.

The air conditioner needs a new compressor as the existing one is frozen.  All controls/fan for the a/c work properly.  Heater works.  The rubber seals for the top on top of the windshield are missing.  The radio is not original but in working condition.

Please contact me with any questions or if additional photos are needed.  The car is located in Fort Lauderdale Florida, buyer to arrange shipping if needed.  Inspections are welcomed, this car is stunning in person, the photos just don’t do it justice.  Very reasonable Buy It Now Price with book values much higher.  Will consider reasonable offers only.

This is near flawless automobile and one of the remaining 2,276 that were manufactured and sold that year.  These cars have been doing nothing but climb in value and popularity based on their incredible lines and the fact that they have been seen on television and in the many movies.  These cars are nothing short of incredible to drive and enjoy and have incredible class and presence! Thumbs up wherever you go.

Car is sold as-is, no warranty expressed or implied.  Information herein given to the best of seller's knowledge. I am happy to speak on the phone with anyone, Randy 954-816-9005.  Thank you.

2020 Lincoln Aviator 450-hp PHEV will get its own exterior visual cues

Fri, Nov 30 2018

Lincoln will brand its powerful plug-in version of the new Aviator crossover as a GT hybrid package with a few distinguishing visual cues when it goes on sale next summer. The luxury PHEV crossover will do battle with competitors like the Porsche Cayenne E-Hybrid, Volvo XC90 T8 and BMW's (incredibly long-winded) X5 xDrive45e iPerformance. The "GT" designation harkens to the golden era of grand touring and is meant to convey the combination of high performance and comfort over long distances. "It's really trying to get at how Lincoln is redefining luxury performance," said Brad Jager, the Aviator brand manager. The hybrid system will deliver 450 horsepower and a whopping 600 pound-feet of torque, which are increases of 50 hp and 200 lb-ft over the pure combustion version powered by a twin-turbo 3.0-liter V6. Lincoln isn't releasing expected electric-only range or fuel economy, and it's keeping most of the details of the hybrid system under wraps for now. It has said you'll also be able to hold the charge to be deployed later, such as for short trips in town. Lincoln is, however, making a few subtle exterior changes to designate the GT hybrid setup, which will be offered in the higher-end GT and Black Label trim models (the entry-level Aviator and Reserve models will be available only in gasoline combustion versions). First are changes to the Lincoln star badge on the grille and Aviator badge on the side flanks, which fill in with a blue color borrowed from the original Lincoln V12 badge from the 1930s and '40s — a neat touch on a vehicle that is reviving a nameplate. The grille itself is also an inversion of the new Lincoln treatment appearing on models like the Navigator and Nautilus. So where the grilles on those models have cutouts, the GT hybrid grille has protruding shapes that dissipate the further away they are from the center badge. Lastly, the PHEV will come with 21-inch wheels instead of the 22-inchers that equip non-hybrid versions. Lincoln says it designed the rear-wheel-drive architecture with the Aviator in mind, allowing the battery to go underneath the passenger-side second-row seats and maximizing interior space. Engineers also fit an electric motor between the V6 engine and the 10-speed automatic transmission. Lincoln hasn't announced pricing on the Aviator, which goes on sale next summer, and the plug-in hybrid versions will obviously command a premium.

Ford recalls 200,000 vehicles for brake lights that won't turn off

Wed, Jan 19 2022

Ford and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) announced a new recall for nearly 200,000 vehicles because their brake lights may not turn off. Drivers of affected vehicles equipped with automatic transmissions may also be able to shift the vehicles out of Park even when their foot is off the brake. That increases the risk of a rollaway and could cause a crash. According to documentation posted on NHTSA's recall hub, a separated brake pedal bumper is to blame for the issue. The recall applies to "certain 2014-2015 Fusion, Lincoln MKZ and 2015 Mustang vehicles originally sold or ever registered, in Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, Virginia and Hawaii." The safety regulator adds that "exposure to certain environmental conditions, such as high temperatures, high humidity and salt air can cause the brake pedal bumper to disintegrate and separate from the brake pedal." Owners of affected vehicles should expect notification of the recall in early March. They will be directed to the dealership of their choice to have their brake pedal bumpers and clutch pedal bumpers replaced free of charge. Related video: This content is hosted by a third party. 2023 Lincoln Navigator makes changes to trim lineup and color menu

Mon, Jan 23 2023

Lincoln has been doing its thing out of the way of the big headlines at Ford. The brand hasn't put out an official press release for the Navigator since August 2021, the 2023 Navigator whispering into the new year so quietly we barely noticed. The big SUV got refreshed for the 2022 model year, gaining the brand's ActiveGlide hands-free driving system, Lincoln Enhance over-the-air update capability, a larger 13.2-inch infotainment screen, two new themes for the top-tier Black Label trim called Central Park and Invitation, tweaked front and rear fascias, and a few other bits. For 2023, the changes are mostly decorative and financial. The base extended model known as the Navigator L is gone. The stretched Navigator now comes in Reserve and Black Label only. Flight Blue is no longer on the exterior palette, but Diamond Red Tricoat can be ordered for the base Standard trim as well as the Reserve and Reserve L. The sole powertrain is unchanged, that being a 3.5-liter twin-turbocharged EcoBoost V6 with 440 horsepower and 510 pound-feet of torque sending power through a ten-speed automatic to either the rear wheels or all four. 2023 Navigator prices after the $1,895 destination charge, and their increases from 2022, are: Standard: $81,620 ($3,215) Reserve: $93,830 ($4,730) Reserve L: $96,860 ($5,090) Standard 4WD: $84,620 ($3,215) Reserve 4WD: $96,530 ($5,090) Reserve L 4WD: $99,555 ($5,090) Black Label 4WD: $111,150 ($6,475) Black Label L 4WD: $114,195 ($6,475) As you can see, there are some healthy bumps compared to launch pricing for the 2022 model year. In 2022, the base model dropped by $5, three other trims rose by a few hundred, one trim rose by $1,760, and five climbed by almost $5,000. For 2023, a $5,000 increase is effectively the norm. Getting a Navigator seems to be a little easier than around this time last year when Lincoln made the model custom order only. Now the warning text reads, "Some models, trims and features may not be available. Please contact your local Lincoln Retailer for updates and assistance." Bring money.
