History of LEHMANN-PETERSON Limousines: Robert 'Pete' Peterson and George 'Skip' Lehmann founded Lehmann-Peterson in 1963. Mr. Peterson had an automobile racing history serving as chief mechanic and building racers for use at Indianapolis. Lehmann had received a large inheritance at the age of 21 from his father who died in Boston's Coconut Grove Night Club fire. The pair established a shop in a Chicago garage on Harlem Avenue. Using a standard 1963 Lincoln, they cut it in half and added a 34-inch stretch. They also added a plague that reads 'Executive Limousine by Lehmann-Peterson.' Only one example was ever created by Lehmann-Peterson in their Chicago garage. When production began, they moved to a shop at 2710 North Sawyer Avenue and one on Amitage Street.
History of This LEHMANN-PETERSON Limousine:
1966 Lincoln Continental Executive Limousine by Lehmann-Peterson Coach Builders with Original 43,325 miles (accurate) and is being sold with a transferable NY state registration and bill of sale. One of 159 produced in 1966 which was originally sold from a dealership in Amarillo, Texas. In 2005 the limo received the following work: voltage regulator, air conditioning repair with new compressor, receiver dryer, electric cooling fan, turn signal switch, upper steering column bearing and rubber gasket, transmission linkage and o-ring, master cylinder was converted to dual master brake cylinder, fuel pump and fuel push rod and a Sony audio stereo with the 6-CD changer in trunk area. The same year the rear area was restored with new upholstery of both facing benches, carpeting and beverage compartment with flute holders. After sitting for several years this month we gave the Limo a tune up with plugs, wires, points, rotor, rebuilt carb, battery, new tires and a nice paint job. Motor runs good and idles nice, Transmission shifts smooth, brakes stop good and power steering is easy to turn. All the glass in in great condition with no chips or scratches. Interior is clean and with no rips or tears in the upholstery and foam is good. The back part of the headliner has some water spots from the original wood glass retainer. This was replaced with a welded in metal piece. The exterior was painted last month with vary minimal rust repair (no rust throughs). The chrome is all in excellent condition and complete with no dents. I do have the Lehmann-Peterson badges. The door locks and windows need some attention as some do not function. I have had many 1960’s Lincolns and the limo are the rare and the most fun. Car is being sold to fund a new venture in life otherwise it would be kept as there are only a few still on the road. Overall this is an amazing car that demands attention and you will be a Rock Star with the only one around. Car is 20 minutes from Salt Lake City, Utah International Airport and can be viewed with appointment. A seroius buyer may call anytime (801- 979 - 4670).
Thank you for viewing and have a Happy and Prosperious New Year! |

2022 Lincoln Navigator priced at just $5 more than last year
Thu, Jan 20 2022The 2022 Lincoln Navigator still isn't listed on the Lincoln site at the time of writing, but Ford Authority says it has a price — one you'll not be surprised to hear is higher than that of the 2021 Navigator. The 2022 Navigator Standard sets the baseline with an MSRP of $76,710, or $78,405 with destination, a trifle of an up-charge at just $5 more than last year's trim. After that, premiums for the tech and feature updates given to the new Navigator climb quickly except in the case of the lengthened Standard L in rear-wheel-drive guise. That trim comes down by $200 on its MSRP, going up overall by $200 because of the updated destination fee, totaling $81,400.  2022 Navigator prices and their differences from last year are: Standard: $78,405 ($5) Standard L: $81,400 ($200) Reserve: $89,100 ($4,955) Reserve L: $91,770 ($4,760) Standard 4WD: $81,405 ($735) Standard L 4WD: $84,400 ($530) Reserve 4WD: $91,440 ($1,760) Reserve L 4WD: $94,465 ($4,785) Black Label 4WD: $104,675 ($4,725) Black Label L 4WD: $107,720 ($4,570) All Navigators will benefit from Lincoln Enhance, the brand name for Lincoln's over-the-air software update capability, and the improved Amazon Alexa integration that can respond to more natural language. The substantial rises on the Reserve and Black Label trims pay for ActiveGlide and CoPilot360 2.0. ActiveGlide is the advanced driver assistance tech that allows hands-free highway driving if the right conditions are met (it's known as BlueCruise on Fords). Using adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go capability, lane centering and traffic sign recognition, the system can be activated on more than 130,000 miles of divided highways in North America. To help ensure hands-free doesn't turn into attention-free, ActiveGlide monitors the driverÂ’s head and eye positions with a driver-facing camera. Lincoln Co-Pilot360 2.0 bundles more ADAS like forward collision warning, pedestrian detection, and dynamic brake support, and for 2022 adds Intersection Assist and Active Sense Park Assist 2.0. Ford recalls 382k vehicles across six campaigns
Wed, Sep 30 2015Ford needs to repair a total of 381,633 vehicles in North America across six newly announced campaigns, including five safety recalls and one compliance recall. By far the largest of these campaigns covers the 342,271 examples of the 1998-2003 Windstar to double check an earlier recall repair. Among these, 283,413 are in the US and 58,858 are in Canada. The combination of corrosion and stress can cause cracks in the rear axle and eventually lead to the part to snap completely. The company reports a small number of accidents might be connected to this, but there are no injuries. The minivans were recalled for this issue back in 2010, and it was investigated by NHTSA. According to Ford's latest announcement, the reinforcement brackets on some of these models might not have been installed correctly. This time, dealers will perform an inspection. Minivans with incorrectly installed brackets will get a new rear axle. The rest of the owners will be offered a deal to replace the part at a reduced cost. The next largest campaign covers 36,857 examples of the 2015 F-150 to fix a problem with the adaptive cruise control. Specifically, there are 33,481 affected trucks in the US, and 3,376 in Canada. According to Ford, "when passing a large, highly reflective truck" the radar in the system can misidentify a semi as being in the same lane as the pickup. The collision warning system would then activate, slowing the F-150. There's one report of an accident with this happening but no injuries. The fix is simply an update to the adaptive cruise control module software. Ford also has a recall for 1,477 examples of its 2016 F-53 and F-59 stripped chassis models, and they're all located in the US. A manufacturing issue might allow the trucks to shift into reverse without the driver first applying the brakes. There are no reports of any accidents from this, though. To repair the problem, the models get a new transmission shift control bracket and an adjustment to the shift cable. The Blue Oval's safety compliance recall covers 708 examples of the 2016 Fusion and Lincoln MKZ, including 658 of them in the US, 28 in Canada, and 22 in Mexico. On these models, a manufacturing problem with the fuel tank could allow it to crack in a crash, which isn't allowed under federal rules. There are no reports of accidents, injuries or fires. The fix will be a new fuel tank for all of them. The company is also repairing 251 units of the 2015 Taurus and Lincoln MKS, plus the 2016 Explorer.
Ford Announces Four Recalls, 1.4M Vehicles Affected
Thu, May 29 2014Ford is taking a bit of the spotlight away from General Motors, announcing a major group of recall campaigns, covering a total of 1.4 million vehicles built between 2006 and 2013. Let's start with the big one, which covers the Ford Escape, Mercury Mariner and, according to The Detroit News, Ford-built Mazda Tribute CUVs. 915,216 vehicles are covered, all of which were built in model years 2008 to 2011. 736,000 vehicles are in the US, while Canada then Mexico make up the vast majority of the remainder. The problem is due to an issue with the torque sensor in the steering column, which could lead to sudden power steering failure. Manual steering would still be available, though. "Dealers will perform one of three service fixes, depending upon what diagnostic codes are shown when the vehicle is taken to the dealer," Ford spokeswoman Kelli Felker wrote to Autoblog in an email. "They will either update software for the power steering control module and the instrument cluster module; replace the torque sensor; or replace the steering column, which includes upgraded power steering control module software." The most recent generation of the Ford Explorer is suffering from a similar malady, thanks to an intermittent electrical connection (we think that means short circuit) in the steering column. Like the Escape and Mariner, manual steering would still be available in the event of a power failure. Ford will recall 195,527 examples of its Explorer, 177,500 of which are in the US. This recall covers model years 2011 to 2013. According to Automotive News, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has stated that Ford will inform owners of affected vehicles by July 25. Ford is also recalling 200,000 Taurus sedans, over a corrosion issue in the license plate lamp. This particular recall, which covers vehicles from model years 2010 to 2014, is limited to drivers in northern climes. Vehicle owners in southern states are free to pass on the recall. Finally, 82,576 Fusion, Mercury Milan and Lincoln Zephyr/MKZ sedans from 2006 to 2011 are being recalled because of floormats that can interfere with the accelerator pedal. Dealers will replace the offensive floormats with newer examples. "Ford is committed to providing our customers with top quality vehicles. We are equally committed to addressing potential issues and responding quickly for our customers," Felker wrote.
