Up for auction is an AWD 2005 Lexus RX330 with slight damage to the passenger side front fender. This is the Thunderclould edition of the RX which is a rare and desireable edition. The Thunderclould has a different front grill, rims and the interior wood is a dark grain as opposed to the brown grain on the regular models. My wife bought this vehicle new so it is a 1 owner vehicle. Title is clear and in hand. Runs and drives great but it is a 2005 model year vehicle with 142k miles on it. So it is going to have some wear. I like being completely honest in my listings so I am going to list some of the "flaws" and positives this lexus has.
- As noted above there is damage to the passenger side front fender. This was a hit and run parking lot accident that happened while my wife was a work. Does not effect the driveability of the car at all. It does limit the front passenger door opening to about 3/4 of what it should open. You can force it open all the way but it binds quite a bit. The leading edge of the door has some paint chipped off from opening the door all the way.
- The front passenger door has a quarter size door ding in it. I have included a picture of this.
- The tires are in great shape but the wheels could use to be refinished. Some of them have bubbling in the paint on them. Not sure why this happened?
- Driver side rear marker light is cracked and not working. I bought a replacement but mistakenly bought the one for the passenger side! I will include it with the vehicle sale.
- Interior is in great shape but does have a couple of stains in the carpet. All new lexus floor mats have been installed.
- Front bumper and leading edge of the hood have rock chips / slight sandblasting from the exclusive highway usage.
- Oil has been changed every 7k miles with Mobile One synthetic oil.
- Battery was replaced last year.
- HID front headlights that turn as you go around curves.
- 6 disc CD changer
- Sunroof
- Power rear lift gate
- Newer Goodyear Assurance tires
- All electronics work as they should and the air blows ice cold.
This has been a well used and well taken care of vehicle by us. My wife recently bought a new Jeep Grand Cherokee. We had been keeping it as a 3rd vehicle but we just don't use it enough to justify keeping it anymore. I will be happy to answer any questions about the vehicle and its condition. $750 deposit due at acution end and the balance within 7 days. Buyer is responible for vehicle pick up and or shipping. Vehicle is located in Morgantown, WV. Thanks for viewing my auction and have a great day.

Drive like a prince: Join us for a walk through Monaco's car collection
Fri, Dec 29 2023Small, crowded, and a royal pain in the trunk lid to drive into during rush hour, Monaco sounds like an improbable location for a huge car museum. And yet, this tiny city-state has been closely linked to car culture for over a century. It hosts two major racing events every year, many of its residents would qualify for a frequent shopper card if Rolls-Royce issued one, and Prince Rainier III began assembling a collection of cars in the late 1950s. He opened his collection to the public in 1993 and the museum quickly turned into a popular tourist attraction. The collection continued to grow after his death in April 2005; it moved to a new facility located right on Hercules Port in July 2022. Monaco being Monaco, you'd expect to walk into a room full of the latest, shiniest, and most powerful supercars ever to shred a tire. That's not the case: while there is no shortage of high-horsepower machines, the first cars you see after paying ˆ10 (approximately $11) to get in are pre-war models. In that era, the template for the car as we know it in 2023 hadn't been created, so an eclectic assortment of expensive and dauntingly experimental machines roamed whatever roads were available to them. One is the Leyat Helica, which was built in France in 1921 with a 1.2-liter air-cooled flat-twin sourced from the world of aviation. Fittingly, the two-cylinder spun a massive, plane-like propeller. Government vehicles get a special spot in the museum. They range from a Cadillac Series 6700 with an amusing blend of period-correct French-market yellow headlights and massive fins to a 2011 Lexus LS 600h with a custom-made transparent roof panel that was built by Belgian coachbuilder Carat Duchatelet for Prince Albert II's wedding. Here's where it all gets a little weird: you've got a 1952 Austin FX3, a Ghia-bodied 1959 Fiat 500 Jolly, a 1960 BMW Isetta, and a 1971 Lotus Seven. That has to be someone's idea of a perfect four-car garage. One of the most significant cars in the collection lurks in the far corner of the main hall, which is located a level below the entrance. At first glance, it's a kitted-out Renault 4CV with auxiliary lights, a racing number on the front end, and a period-correct registration number issued in the Bouches-du-Rhone department of France. It doesn't look all that different than the later, unmodified 4CV parked right next to it. Here's what's special about it: this is one of the small handful of Type 1063 models built by Renault for competition.
Bugatti Veyron, Lexus LFA, McLaren MP4-12C and Lambo Aventador in 1/4-mile shootout... who wins?
Thu, 17 May 2012Automobile Magazine scribe Jason Cammisa was sent into the desert to referee four carbon-fiber-bodied wild animals fighting it out over the quarter mile: the V8 McLaren MP4-12C, the V10 Lexus LFA, the V12 Lamborghini Aventador and the W16 Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport. It's a tough job, innit?
The Head 2 Head race was run elimination style, with the winner of each two-up challenge facing the next devil up the totem pole. Although you might not have any doubts about the eventual victor, how each of these supercars fared is good watching. See all the screaming for yourself in the video below.
Toyota develops new pre-collision system with steering assist
Sun, 13 Oct 2013A number of automakers are working on developing fully autonomous cars, but it looks like the groundwork for such technologies will likely show up first as semi-autonomous systems for both safety and convenience. Following recent announcements from Nissan and Ford in this area, Toyota has now released information for some of its advanced semi-autonomous technologies that could be offered in production cars over the next few years.
On the safety front, Toyota's new pre-collision system with pedestrian-avoidance steering assist is aimed at protecting the folks who aren't in the car. This system combines visual and audible alerts with automatic brake assist and automatic steering. If warnings don't get the driver to slow down, the brake assist kicks in if a collision is very likely, but if that is still not able to avoid the impending collision (and if there is enough room to do so), the car can automatically steer itself around the pedestrian. This sounds most beneficial for last-second dangers such as a person accidently stepping out into the road in front of a car. Toyota hopes to have this technology available to customers by 2015.
The Japanese automaker is also testing a suite of technologies called Automated Highway Driving Assist (AHDA). The key part of this is a new adaptive cruise control system that uses vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) communications rather than a radar-based system. This cooperative-adaptive cruise control allows vehicles to communicate their acceleration and deceleration data with other cars, which Toyota says this helps to improve fuel efficiency and traffic flow. Also a part of AHDA is the Lane Trace Control feature, which sounds like a next-gen lane keep assist. This system uses cameras, radar and a computer to keep the vehicle in a "smooth driving line" by being able to change steering angle, engine torque and braking force. Toyota says this technology could be in place by the "mid-2010s."
