We would love to keep this car forever, but just bought a 2013 Mercedes GL450 and have limited parking. We have no choice but to let it go.

Our family bought this Lexus from the original owner in 1997 and have loved every minute of owning it.  It spent its entire life in Nashville TN until 2008, when it was handed down from father to daughter (who used the car in Upstate NY, MA and then in briefly PA). The car comes with a COMPLETE SERVICE HISTORY back to 1997.

During the last few winters since moving to the northeast, we found the car’s full-time four wheel drive outstanding in the snow. LX450s are also great off road (features include low range transfer case, locking center differential, and plenty of ground clearance), but we really only had to get it muddy once… it escaped an exceptionally sloppy grass parking lot after a rain storm with ease.

It’s great to have 3 rows of seats, too... Overall, we're sorry to see it go, but we hope it ends up in a good home that loves it as much as we do.

Condition: Engine and transmission are strong and solid.  A/C is ice cold. Never smoked in. No shakes, drives straight (although the last alignment shop canted the steering wheel a few degrees off center - see last photo below).  Great cosmetic condition overall, except for a few minor (typical) items: some paint/body blemishes, power radio antenna doesn't move, the steering wheel cover is starting to peel a little at the corners, the passenger power seat tilts and reclines but will not more fore/aft – this is a very common problem on these cars. We had the driver’s seat mechanism professionally rebuilt and it works fine. Everything else works. See for yourself in the pictures!

Additional aftermarket features:
- Back-up camera
- Bluetooth hands free speakerphone & music receiver (Belkin F4U037)
- Class IV Tow Hitch
- Both front seats professionally reupholstered in 2009 with very durable (yet soft) synthetic leather

Radio and CD player (6 disc changer) still in great shape

Exterior in good shape for age, only major paint damage is on the right rear corner. Tires are in good shape (see for yourself below).

Regarding the front wheel alignment and the steering angle, see below for a picture showing the steering wheel when travelling straight ahead on the highway. Note that the car does NOT pull to either side (even under braking), but rather, the steering wheel is slightly off center:

Lexus LF-1 Limitless lights up like a Christmas tree in new teaser

Tue, Dec 19 2017

We don't know much about the Lexus LF-1 Limitless Concept that's coming to the 2018 Detroit Auto Show, but we do know it's going to have some crazy complicated headlights. Lexus released a second teaser of the oddly named Limitless, this time focusing our attention on the conceptual crossover's face. And let's just say there's a whole heck of a lot going on. As you can see in the animated GIF below, the show starts with a traditional Lexus badge in blue, followed by a few slashes of light in a shape that would make Zorro proud. And then things get really crazy. A yellow-hued set of slices carve through the fascia below the headlights, forming a sort of wide-set Fu Manchu, though this one was penned not by Sax Rohmer but by the designers at CALTY in California. Lexus LC F prototype caught testing

Mon, Jul 23 2018

The rumored Lexus LC F seems to be real based on these spy shots. A prototype was spied testing in Europe, and it shows a number of significant alterations from the regular LC 500 and LC 500h grand touring luxury coupes. In particularly, they seem to show a bit more of everything for the sporty edition. The nose bears some of the biggest changes compared with the standard models. While the center grille is mostly untouched, the outboard grilles have been cut wide open for more airflow. We can see the reason why, as there are heat exchangers in each of them. A particularly large one resides in the grille on the left side of the car. We can also see that the fenders have been extended over the wheel arches. Whether this is something to throw off observers or a final addition has yet to be seen, since the wheels and tires fitted to this car don't fill the added width, and the rear fenders aren't any wider, either. While nothing has changed to the sides of the car, we can spot the LC F's new brakes. They feature cross-drilled rotors and some beefy calipers. Moving around the back, we see that the LC F will get the signature stacked exhaust seen on the RC F and old IS F. Underneath, the tips will be matched with a wide diffuser that looks rather functional. Based on a previous report, it sounds like the LC F is still a couple of years away. Not much is known about the car, but it's safe to say it will make more than the 467 horsepower of the LC 500's naturally aspirated 5.0-liter V8. It could possibly have a twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V8 or some sort of hybrid powertrain. To play in the same arena as some of the luxury performance competition, it will probably need at least 550 horsepower. Also expect it to cost significantly more than the LC 500h's low-$90,000s price tag. Related Video:

Here's why our Lexus NX is uglier than the rest of the world's

Fri, 01 Aug 2014

Take a good look at the image above. That's the US-market Lexus NX 300h, and it looks, well... distinctive. Although the entire NX crossover sports styling that could certainly be described as controversial, it's the front end of the 'ute that seems to draw most of the ire, befitted as it is with Lexus' so-called spindle grill.
Now, take a look at the pair of images just below. The one on the left is from the States (the same model seen above), while the one on the right comes from Europe. Notice a difference? The lower front fascia of the European Lexus NX dips down much lower than the one from the US, and it looks much more refined because of it.
Why the disparity between the two designs? According to Top Gear Philippines, the reason why the US gets the more pointy proboscis is because of its classification as a light truck. It seems trucks are required to have some sort of concession to the car's approach angle - in other words, a truck should be able to clear an obstacle that a car might hit. Why does Lexus care if the NX is a car or truck? Well, that has to do with how fuel economy is reported, as trucks are given less-stringent requirements for Corporate Average Fuel Economy purposes.
