We would love to keep this car forever, but just bought a 2013 Mercedes GL450 and have limited parking. We have no choice but to let it go.

Our family bought this Lexus from the original owner in 1997 and have loved every minute of owning it.  It spent its entire life in Nashville TN until 2008, when it was handed down from father to daughter (who briefly registered the car in New York before taking ownership and moving the car to Massachusetts). The car comes with a COMPLETE SERVICE HISTORY back to 1997.

During the last few winters since moving to the northeast, we found the car’s full-time four wheel drive outstanding in the snow. Supposedly LX450s are also great off road (features include low range transfer case, locking center differential, and plenty of ground clearance), but we really only had to test it once… it escaped an exceptionally muddy parking lot at a horse race with ease!

It’s great to have 3 rows of seats, too! Overall, we're sorry to see it go, but we hope it ends up in a good home that loves it as much as we do.

Condition: Engine and transmission are strong and solid.  A/C is ice cold. Never smoked in. No shakes, drives straight (although the last alignment shop canted the steering wheel a few degrees off center).  GREAT condition overall, except for a few minor (typical) items: some paint/body blemishes, power radio antenna doesn't move, passenger power seat tilts and reclines but will not more fore/aft – this is a very common problem on these cars. We had the driver’s seat mechanism rebuilt and it works fine. Everything else works. See for yourself in the pictures!

Additional aftermarket features:
- Back-up camera
- Bluetooth hands free speakerphone & music receiver (Belkin F4U037)
- Class IV Tow Hitch
- Both front seats professionally reupholstered in 2009 with very durable (yet soft) synthetic leather

Radio and CD player (6 disc changer) still in great shape

Exterior in good shape for age, only noticeable paint damage on right rear corner. Tires are good.

Toyota may put Mirai hydrogen fuel cell powertrain into a Lexus

Wed, Dec 24 2014

Toyota is hoping to define the world of hydrogen fuel cell vehicles with its uniquely styled Mirai sedan in a fashion similar to the way the Prius pops into people's minds when they think of a hybrid. The Japanese automaker believes it can sell about 700 FCEVs worldwide in the first year alone and build rapidly from there to an estimated 3,000 sales in the US by 2017. Of course, not everyone is completely enamored with the Mirai's design. Toyota is rumored to have an alternative in the works to quell some of those naysayers, possibly taking flagship form with a new Lexus LS powered by fuel-cell tech. The LS FCEV could be unveiled by 2017 to sit at the very top of brand's lineup. According to an inside source speaking to the Australian website Motoring, the front end would feature larger air intakes to cool the electrical components. The fuel cell would reportedly be positioned under the front seat, and the hydrogen tanks would be located under and behind the rear seat. Somehow, Motoring claims that all of this might be lighter than the current LS600hL hybrid, to the tune about 440 pounds. The model is also claimed to offer a range of about 239 miles, just a bit shy of the Mirai's roughly 300 miles. Assuming this vehicle actually exists, the cost for buyers of this flagship would almost certainly ring up at more than the LS600hL's $120,440 base price. Autoblog has reached out to Toyota for any further info about this rumor, one way or the other. If we hear back, we'll update this story with the details. Lexus LS spied wearing googly-eyed mask [UPDATE]

Tue, May 17 2016

UPDATE: Judging by this mule's dash-to-axle ratio, we think it's probably an LS sedan, not an ES as previously identified. The text below has been updated. Wow. Take a good look at those headlights! As you can see from the images in the gallery above, Lexus is hard at work on the next generation of its luxurious LS sedan. The massive appendages affixed to the front of this mule make us wonder what's going on behind those fake headlights – we'd expect some fancy LED units on the production model. Ditto for the rear, where those equally tacked-on taillights will be replaced with a fancier set with upward-sweeping light bars. Getting past the crazy eyeballs, it seems that Lexus will continue refining its current styling language with the next LS. There's sure to be a pinched Spindle grille, and a long wheelbase ought to offer plenty of space for four adult-size occupants. Whereas the IS and larger GS carry the brand's sportier aspirations, going up against the likes of BMW and Mercedes-Benz, the LS will continue to be aimed at a more relaxed luxury buyer. Interestingly, our spy shooters were quick to point out that Lexus brought along 5 Series and 7 Series sedans to compare with its next LS. In any case, we wouldn't expect any significant changes to excite the enthusiast crowd. Related Video:

Houston repair shop disappears and takes man's Lexus with it

Mon, Feb 13 2017

A man in Houston, Texas, is out his sweet new Lexus after the small-time repair shop he took it to just up and disappeared along with his car last month. According to KPRC, Randy Exom purchased a Lexus ES300 back in November and immediately took it to On Site Auto Repair in Northwest Houston to deal with some used car issues. To pay for the work, Exom set up a bi-weekly payment plan with the shop's owner. This arrangement worked out fine until January 19, when Exom showed up to make his payment and discovered that the shop had disappeared. "Everything was going fine up until I came there to make a payment and there was an eviction sign posted, sign on the door, and the regular cars that were in the lot weren't there anymore," Exom told KPRC. Eventually, he was able to reach the shop's owner to get an explanation but it wasn't the one he wanted. "I gave him a call and I said, 'Hey, there's an eviction notice here. Did you move?' He said, 'Yeah, I'm at 59 and Little York now." The fact that the owner didn't give him an exact address raised some alarms, and upon further review it seems that Exom's suspicions were justified. It turns out that the shop's owner, Shawn Gee, has a history of shady automotive dealing. Last fall, KPRC reported cases of cars going missing from a shop at 59 and Little York. That shop, which is now closed, was owned by Gee's brother. On February 10, Exom finally found his car in an impound lot with the rest of the cars from Gee's shop nearly a full month after it went missing. He told KPRC that the impound lot wants $800 to release his car. He told reporters that he wished Gee had called him and worked the situation out like a real businessman. "My thing is my car was in your possession and you should have made some type of contact with me and say, 'Hey this is what's going on, sir,'" he said. KPRC reached Gee by phone on February 10 and he declined to give an on-camera interview. He did confirm the eviction and said that he was working with customers to get their impounded vehicles back.
