1996 Lexus Lx450 - Lexus Version Of The Toyota Landcruiser on 2040-cars

For Sale is a 1996 Lexus LX450, which is really a Toyota Land Cruiser with Lexus badges. Overall, this well-maintained 7-passenger SUV is in great shape with a few cosmetic issues. I've been the owner for the past four years and have owned it without any issues other than maintenance projects. I have only put on around 30,000 miles. I've enjoyed owning this vehicle and truly belief it's got another 100,000 solid miles in it. These SUVs are known for long, productive lives. Google it if you're interested in knowing more. Below are some bullet points to consider:
Car Details: 184,5xx miles 7 - passenger All wheel drive with 4-wheel high & low gears Black with Tan interior Tires - 50-60% tread life left on Toyo tires 6-disc built in CD player 2" trailer hitch system installed - not wired for lights Recent Maintenance/Repairs: In Prep for Sale - Full inside & outside detail with buffing & carpet cleaning 2014 - Front & Rear Brakes - new rotors on back, turned rotors on front & new front caliper 2014 - New power steering 2014 - New battery 2014 - New front axle knuckle gasket kit installed in right front wheel 2013 - New Air Conditioner 2013 - New Complete exhaust system from engine to tailpipe 2012 - New heating fluid lines from front heater to rear heater Oil changes with 10W40 every 3000 miles & other routine maintenance like tire rotations Condition Notes: Front bumper - I purchased the car 4 years ago with the front right bumper slightly pushed in. It was likely backed into. Looks like front bumper could be removed, bracket bent back, and then bumper re-installed. It ins't a big deal for me, so I haven't fixed it. Paint & Body - Overall for a 1996, the paint and body work are in good shape. Just waxed/buffed and the only things you see is when you stand right over the flat surface areas where rain, dirt, & anything else have collected over the year and caused spotting. Can't tell from 5' away. There are a few small door dents, paint cracks on bumpers, and small stone chips. There is visible rust on the running boards just at the edge of the running boards. Rear Hatch Under Wiper - this is common place to rust out. I sanded the rust, patched it with metal patch putty, and then repainted those areas. You can tell it's there, but the rust has stopped & it's sealed with satin paint that matches well. Not professional, but effective. Sunroof - The sunroof works. The only problem is that it only goes about half way back. Something stuck in the track or binding it halfway. I personally just haven't wanted to drop the headliner to inspect. Don't really use sunroof that much anyway. Cigarette Lighter doesn't work (disconnected wire maybe) and the rear passenger side window button on driver's side door doesn't work. The window works and the button on that door works, just not the button on the driver's side door. Just haven't taken door apart to inspect. I'm happy to answer any other questions. |

2019 Lexus NX F Sport gets the Black Line treatment
Thu, Jan 31 2019Lexus is debuting a limited-production NX F Sport Black Line edition at the 2019 Chicago Auto Show. Set to be sold for the 2019 model year only, the Black Line is essentially an appearance package with some added equipment as well — Lexus previously made a Black Line version of the RC coupe with similar results. The package takes a normal NX 300 F Sport and jazzes it up a bit. The NX in this spec is equipped with a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder making 235 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque. Forged 19-inch chrome wheels and a faux carbon bodyside graphic are the main exterior changes. Only three colors will be available for the Black Line, including black, silver and the white you see here. The interior gets colors to complement the exterior, with two-tone white and black seats. A black headliner is standard, as are unique Black Line floor mats, cargo mats and key fob gloves. Extra equipment comes in the form of a new Mark Levinson 14-speaker, 835-watt audio system. This audio setup isn't available on any other version of the NX crossover. Beyond that, the Black Line is a fully-loaded NX with nearly all of the available option boxes checked. Notable upgrades include navigation, blind-spot monitoring, heated/cooled seats, an auto-dimming mirror and moonroof. Lexus is limiting production to 1,000 units for this special edition, which will be arriving in dealerships in February — as in, right about now. It's available in either front-wheel or all-wheel drive. The front-drive version goes for $49,600, while all-wheel drive will run you $51,000 including destination charges. Related video:
Lexus considers additional powertrains for the F Performance brand
Tue, Jul 17 2018As the European hardcore competition integrates small-displacement engines and hybrids ( Mercedes-AMG), as well as pure electrification ( Polestar), Lexus' F Performance brand sticks to eight-cylinder guns. The IS F, RC F, and GS F all use the same 5.0-liter V8, the brand's hallmark all the way back to the 2007 IS F. Things could be changing, though, to hear Lexus president Yoshihiro Sawa tell it during his first visit to the Goodwood Festival of Speed. He told Auto Express that "we cannot stick to the one solution when it comes to providing emotion." It sounds like a hybrid has the best chance of reality in the near-term. In April, Lexus said several powertrain options are "all on the table" for the primary brand, and we know Lexus is working on a more powerful hybrid system. Sawa broached the unexpected idea of "a pure F GT car, which could be a hybrid with an electric motor and a strong engine." Mention of a "pure F GT" has us wondering if Sawa means a version of the rumored LC F, or another vehicle above or beside that LC F. A trademark filing and heaps of rumor posit the LC F will have a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 pushing 600 horsepower or more. It's also possible Lexus plans to do something with the anticipated Gazoo Racing road-going supercar that reworks the hybrid powertrain from Toyota's LMP1 race car. An electric vehicle is under consideration as the F Performance brand works to "think of our own original way," and Lexus itself tries "to find a way to connect to the next era." Sawa knows performance buyers seek the feel and sound of an ICE, but says "we cannot stick to the one solution when it comes to providing emotion." The subcompact Lexus UX crossover will be half-electrified when it arrives later this year, one of its powertrains putting electric motors on the rear axle. The brand boss said "We will introduce an EV," but whatever they create needs to be both "lovable" and "have a luxury feeling," the former adjective leading us to believe the F sub-brand won't be going down that avenue just yet. The only reasonable candidate we've heard of so far as a battery electric version is the next-generation CT in Europe. Speaking of the CT, the compact hatchback has brought new buyers to the brand with a 70 to 75 percent conquest rate. Sawa said the spindle grille has done the same; sales have grown since the introduction of the polarizing face, so don't expect it to go away.
Lexus GXOR is a conceptual offering to the overlanding crowd
Thu, Jul 18 2019To the surprise of just about everyone, large numbers of overlanders have adopted the Lexus GX. The reasons for that are apparent after looking under the surface: Toyota reskinned the Land Cruiser Prado — a slightly smaller version of the venerable Land Cruiser, sold in overseas markets — to create the GX. The result is an intensely capable off-road platform decked out with a bouquet of luxury trimmings. In tribute to the GX's following, and as a way to celebrate the Toyota FJ Summit happening in Ouray, Colorado, right now, Lexus commissioned the GXOR concept. The initialism comes from the overlanding community, the "OR" standing for "offroad" on web sites and in photos and as a Twitter hashtag. This truck's so well equipped for trekking continents, however, that Lexus might have expanded the full meaning of GXOR to "Gone eXtremely Off Road." The first move to up the rugged quotient is always wheels and tires. Lexus swapped the stock suspension for Icon Vehicle Dynamics shocks with remote reservoirs and a 2.5-inch lift, reinforcing the setup with billet control arms and delta joints. The wheels are 18-inch F-Sport units wrapped in 275/70 (33-inch) General Grabber X3s. When the inevitable hits come, CBI frame sliders and full underbody armor protect the chassis. When situations go all the way south, a Warn 9.5 XPS winch hides behind a custom CBI front bumper, Maxtrax recovery boards stand by on the Eezi-Awn K9 roof rack, and an Icom HAM radio is ready to call for recovery from locals or advice from an operator in Argentina. Other conveniences include a Safari snorkel, 50-inch Rigid light bar, and an Overland Solar 160-watt panel. The cargo area's been turned into a larder and closet thanks to the National Luna fridge/freezer combo sitting atop the Goose Gear custom drawers. Since it appears the GXOR driver might never wish to return, there's more storage in Alu-boxes up top, and a Patriot Campers X1H trailer provides close gear support. The Patriot's a home on wheels, starting at about $52,000 U.S., packed with features like a remote-controlled, electronically-deployed tent, a twin-burner stove, gas hot water system and 40-gallon tank, and more drawers. But because even that's not enough, Lexus fitted the trailer with matching F-Sport wheels and a Redarc Tow-Pro brake controller. If you're near Ouray, the GXOR will be on display and on the trails from now until Sunday, July 21.
