BMW M4 vs. Lexus RC F in Head 2 Head sports coupe showdown

It's the showdown everyone's been looking forward to, the East versus West grudge match of the year. We're talking, of course, about the BMW M4 versus the Lexus RC F.
Although BMW uses a twin-turbo straight-six and the Lexus uses a free-breathing V8, the two are pretty closely matched on paper: a luxury coupe with over 400 horsepower channeled to the rear wheels.
The BMW has been doing these cars for longer, and the M4 boasts a higher power-to-weight ratio. But then the RC F has more power - and without forced induction to break up the rev range. So which is the better luxury muscle coupe? Watch the latest episode of Motor Trend Head 2 Head to find out.

Lexus will bring production UX small crossover to Geneva

Lexus has announced it will show its upcoming UX crossover at the Geneva Motor Show next month. The new nameplate goes 0n a smallish crossover, designed to compete with the BMW X2, the Jaguar E-Pace, the Mercedes-Benz GLA and others. Some reports say the UX would be replacing the CT200h hatchback, which has been on the market since 2011. The manufacturer first used the name on a concept at the 2016 Paris Motor Show, and the shapes have now been worked into a production version. The Paris concept was certainly bulky and scifi-like, but then again, so is the Toyota C-HR on which the UX is reportedly based. Lexus trademarked the model names UX 200, UX 250 and UX 250h with the U.S. Patent and Trademark office way back in 2016, so expect those to reflect the powerplants on offer; the 250h stands for a hybrid version, as has become the norm. The UX's production version might also bear a similarly over-the-top spindle grille as on the LF-1 Limitless concept, which will also be shown at Geneva for its European premiere. The teaser image released by Lexus shows little more than a full-width taillight panel that takes a curious upturn at each end, and much of the crossover is still veiled by darkness. Are you the 2015 Lexus RC F?

With less than two weeks before the start of the 2014 Detroit Auto Show, we're starting to get a better idea of what some of the hot debuts are for this year's installment of America's premiere auto show.
The latest leaked image to hit the internet is what purports to be the Lexus RC F, the Japanese premium brand's long-awaited return to the coupe market and the latest challenger for the upcoming BMW M4, a model that will also be arriving in Detroit. This image was reportedly originally leaked by a Chinese magazine, and was then picked up by our friends at AutoExpress.
The image fits with the teasers and spy shots we've seen of the car so far, meaning that this could very well be the real deal. As we've previously reported, Lexus is expected to offer the RC F with a 460-horsepower V8, while a lower-power RC 350 with two fewer cylinders will also be available. We'll have the full set of details on the RC F when it hits the stage in Detroit.
