2001 Lexus Is300 on 2040-cars
Fishers, Indiana, United States
Thank you for looking at my auction! I’m selling my 2001 IS300 with no reserve. It has 171,000 miles and will climb slightly as I do drive the car a small amount every day. It is loaded with power windows, power door locks, ac, cruise control, heated leather and suede seats, power sunroof, factory HID headlights, and yellow fog lights. It is an automatic with a manual mode for use with shifters located on the steering wheel. It also has traction control and sport mode. I have the original owner’s manual and 2 sets of keys. Everything works and functions as it should; this car runs and drives really well! Exterior: The
black paint is in really great shape, as it has been repainted at some point.
The rear bumper has some scrapes under the paint, but they are not very severe.
The driver’s side rocker panel has a small dent in the very lower portion that
should be fairly visible in the photos. There are not any major dents or dings
on the exterior and there is no rust whatsoever. The factory headlights have
been repainted to look like JDM lights a shave the fog lights. The front grill
is a TRD replica, but looks very nice and fits very well. There is a small rock
chip in the windshield, but it was repaired a few years ago and hasn't grown or
spread since. There are some small scrapes on the driver’s front corner, but
other than that, they exterior is really awesome! I wash it regularly and
revive a lot of compliments on it. No one believes it’s a 2001! Interior: The
interior is in unbelievable shape; all of the interior features work as they
should. The leather and suede seats show very little wear. There are no tears
in the seats or carpets. The original floor mats are in wonderful shape as
well. The head unit has been replaced with a Pioneer unit that has Bluetooth,
iPod connectivity, and iPhone AppMode for GPS, Pandora, and other apps from
your iPhone. There is a noise-cancelling microphone located to the left of the rear-view mirror and works very well. There aren't any loud rattles or squeaks
and nothing seems to be broken. Drivetrain: The
engine and transmission seem to be in perfect working order. The previous owner
told me he had the major service done around 115,000 miles which should have
included a full fluid “flush-and-fill”, the timing belt, tensioner, water pump,
and thermostat. I can’t verify that this has been done, but I don’t have any
reason to doubt it. It idles nice and smooth and shifts through the gears
swiftly and smoothly. I've changed the oil recently and it doesn't use a drop.
It doesn't leak anything either. There is a check engine light on, and when
checked out at the dealership, they told me it was for the oxygen sensor in
“bank 1”. I never got around to replacing it, but they are about $75 online. It’s
very clean underneath, especially for its age. The wheels are stock, but they
have been painted satin black. The tires are new Bridgestone Blizzaks; the
fronts are 205-45-17 and the rears are 215-45-17. This wasn't on purpose, but
the difference is not visibly noticeable at all. These tires are amazing in bad
weather! I’ll never drive a car through the winter without them again! Again,
thank you for looking at my car! I wouldn't hesitate to drive it anywhere and
it has been a champ in the sub-zero conditions that Indiana has suffered
through this winter. If you have any questions about this car, feel free to let
me know. I’m happy to answer anything I can for you or provide additional
photos. I've done my best to describe this car openly and honestly. It I've left anything out, it wasn't on purpose and I will not be held responsible.
This is a used car and is being sold as-is, where-is. I reserve the right to end the auction early, as I do have it for sale locally as well. Thank you! |

Google is hiring autonomous car testers in Arizona
Fri, May 13 2016If you're in Arizona, Google is hiring for a gig that could be a good alternative to doing Uber. The job entails test driving an autonomous car around the state for $20 an hour, six to eight hours a day. You'll still need to know how to actually drive to be able to take the wheel if needed. But since your role is testing out the big G's new technology, you're expected to provide the engineering team "concise written and oral feedback," submit daily reports and document any test or procedure performed. That's why even though Google isn't looking for any "particular type of person," it wants people with bachelor's degrees and excellent communication skills. If you're applying because you want to go on a road trip inside one of Google's compact cars, though, we're afraid you'd be sorely disappointed. You'll be testing the tech titan's self-driving technology on a Lexus like the one in the image above. Google self-driving Lexus crashes into a bus
Mon, Feb 29 2016Google's self-driving cars have been in accidents before, but always on the receiving end... at least, until now. The company has filed a California DMV accident report (PDF) confirming that one of its autonomous vehicles (a Lexus RX450h) collided with a bus in Mountain View. The crash happened when the robotic SUV had to go into the center lane to make a right turn around some sand bags – both the vehicle and its test driver incorrectly assumed that a bus approaching from behind would slow or stop to let the car through. The Lexus smacked into the side of the bus at low speed, damaging its front fender, wheel and sensor in the process. This was a minor incident, and we're happy to report that there were no injuries. However, this might be the first instance where one of Google's self-driving cars caused an accident. If so, the Mountain View crew can no longer say it's an innocent dove on the roads -- while this wasn't a glitch, its software made a decision that led to a crash. We've reached out to Google to see if it can elaborate on what happened. No matter what the response, it was always going to be difficult to avoid this kind of incident. Until self-driving cars can anticipate every possible road hazard, there's always a chance that they'll either be confused or make choices with unexpected (and sometimes unfortunate) consequences. However, the hope at this early stage isn't to achieve a flawless track record. Instead, it's to show that self-driving cars can be safer overall than their human-piloted counterparts.Related Video:This article by Jon Fingas originally ran on Engadget, the definitive guide to this connected life. Lexus LF-LC GT ready to hit Gran Turismo
Mon, Feb 2 2015Lexus might not have as rich a motorsport history as its parent company Toyota does, but it's not been without its racing activities – fielding the LFA in the VLN series at the Nurburgring and powering Daytona Prototypes in American endurance racing, but especially in Japan's own Super GT touring car series. That's where it recently rolled out the RC F GT500 is to replace the aging SC430, fighting for the championship last season right up to the bitter end. And this year it will bring a similar version of the RC F to GT3 racing as well. But before it does, the Japanese automaker has given us another racing machine to lust over – only this one is just for the virtual reality of Gran Turismo 6. Following the two teaser images that previewed its reveal, Polyphony Digital (the studio behind the Gran Turismo franchise) has revealed the new Lexus LF-LC GT. The latest in the Vision Gran Turismo series of virtual racers, the Lexus concept starts with the LF-LC show car revealed at the Detroit Auto Show back in 2012, but applies to it some of the same queues as the aforementioned RC F racer. The bodywork melds into extended aprons to keep the car glued to the digital track, there's a side-exit exhaust, carbon hood and roof, a giant rear wing, gargantuan diffuser and lightweight alloys on racing slicks. It's even got the rainbow-swirled white paint job of the RC F GT3 concept. Technical details weren't released, but then this concept wasn't designed to hit any real road or track any time in the near future, anyway. Related Video:
