2002 Lexus Sc430 Tasteful Mods 18" Momos Lowered Tint Lady Driven on 2040-cars
Ringgold, Georgia, United States
I have for sale my 2002 Lexus SC 430 hardtop convertible, which has almost 93k miles. This has been my weekend driver for over a year now, and I am looking to upgrade to something else. The car has not caused me any problems at all, and I have enjoyed it very much. This is the perfect weekend car, and it has some upgrades that make it stand out from the average SC 430. First, the factory wheels/tires have been replaced with 18” MOMO Italy wheels and Pirelli P6 Four seasons, which are designed for high performance/luxury vehicles. The wheels are very tasteful and give the car a great look. However, since the factory wheels have been changed the tire pressure monitoring system is no longer in place. This means this light on the dash stays on all the time. Next, the car has been tastefully lowered on NF210 coil performance springs which produce great overall ride quality/comfort. This coil is pretty popular with luxury vehicles where comfort is important. With that being said- keep in mind that it has been lowered and while the ride quality and comfort are good, it is different than that of a stock SC 430. The brakes have cross drilled and slotted roters which have more grip and perform better than the stock rotor to help with faster braking time. The exterior paint is Millennium Silver. The paint is in good condition however there are a few random scratches here and there. I have pictured a gouged place on the front bumper- this is definitely the worst blemish on the car. There is also a very small dent on the hood, and one dent on the back bumper that I just noticed when I was checking the car over to write this add. Neither are very noticeable. The windows have also been tinted fairly dark. The front seats come standard with saddle colored leather from the factory, are dual heated and also 8 way power adjustable. The leather does not have any rips or tears, and there is only a small bit of wear showing on the driver’s seat. The back seats look as good as new. The car has the Mark Levinson brand premium stereo system, as well as a 6 disc CD player and they both work as they should. It is also equipped with a navigation system which is currently not working. I have pictured the error message on the display. This never bothered me- I don’t need a computer to tell me where I should be going. This car has a 4.3 liter V8 engine which puts out about 300 Hp. It is rear wheel drive with a 5 speed automatic transmission. It shifts out good and smooth, there are no mechanical issues with it at all. Magnaflow exhaust tips have been added to the factory exhaust system. I took it by the local Lexus dealership where I have it serviced just last week and had them check it thoroughly inside and out. I have priced the car reasonably and I have a clean title and perfect auto-check in hand. You may text me with any questions during the day while I am at work, and I will be more than happy to take calls from 5-9 PM. 423-413-4317 Lisa |

Houston road rage incident devolves into all-out brawl
Tue, May 17 2016The video is no longer available. It appears the associated account has been terminated. Chaos erupted on a Houston freeway last weekend when an altercation spiraled out of control and ended up in a battle-royale style brawl in the middle of traffic. According to KTRK, David Dao and his daughter were traveling along FM 1960 on the morning of May 14 when they came upon a white Honda and a blue Ram truck parked in the right lane. The drivers and passengers of the vehicles were engaged in a spirited argument about something that had happened moments before Dao pulled up. Dao parked in his lane to block traffic in an attempt at making sure other drivers didn't hit the people fighting in the right lane, and instructed his daughter to start filming the incident in case they were needed as witnesses. As Dao's daughter filmed, the incident quickly escalated–harsh words were exchanged, a drink was thrown in a woman's face, and then the driver of the Ram kicked in the Honda's grille. "I couldn't believe it. As soon as he kicked the grille, I was like, 'This is going down now," said Dao. "I was thinking this is going to be bad. At that time, I knew because there was physical damage." As soon as the Ram driver kicked the Honda the entire situation went sideways and devolved into a huge brawl, with the people from both vehicles throwing wild punches and grappling with one another. A woman who was a passenger in the Ram attempted to break up the scrum but took a haymaker in the face for her troubles. Eventually, the fight broke up and the people returned to their vehicles which Dao assumed meant that the altercation was over. Apparently though, the Ram driver felt he hadn't made his point, and he reversed at high speed into the Honda, smashing the fascia and buckling the hood. The Ram then sped off westbound on U.S. 290 with the Honda on its tail. According to the Harris County Sheriff's Office, the incident was not reported and there is no word what happened to the brawlers after they left the scene. Lexus files to copyright LC 500 nameplates [UPDATE]
Mon, Dec 8 2014UPDATE: Reached for comment, Lexus told Autoblog that it "cannot offer comment on the potential naming of a production version of the LF-LC concept" and pointed out that automakers trademark nameplates as a matter of course. Some automakers already slap a production-ready name on their concepts, but not Lexus. The Japanese automaker typically labels its show cars with the letters LF-XX. So when we heard that Toyota had green-lit the LF-LC concept for production, we naturally started wondering what name the production version would carry. But if the latest intel is any indication, we can stop wondering. According to Lexus Enthusiast, the automaker has filed to trademark the names LC 500 and LC 500h in a variety of markets – including the United States, Canada and Australia. The application tells us a number of things: first of all, that the LF-LC will retain that second set of letters along the road to production (like the NX but unlike other recent Lexus concepts). And secondly, it indicates what engines we can expect to find under the hood. The 500 designation would seem to suggest that the base version of Lexus' upcoming halo sports car will pack the 5.0-liter V8 from the RC F. The bigger question mark is over the hybrid version. Current gasoline-electric models in the company's lineup include the RX 450h (based on a 3.5-liter V6) and the LS 600h (with a 5.0-liter V8). For the LC 500h, Lexus could be planning a more potent electric motor to mate to the 3.5L V6, or planning a new powertrain altogether.
Lexus RC F is a predatory sport coupe with a 450-horsepower beating heart
Tue, 14 Jan 2014Take a look at that face. We can't be the only ones who see an automotive Predator staring back, right? Certainly, the Lexus RC F Coupe boasts a visually striking design that some are going to love and others are going to hate, but we can at least appreciate that it's aggressive, especially compared to the standard RC Coupe that we saw at the Tokyo Motor Show. And with good reason - there's a 5.0-liter V8 engine sitting under that massively domed hood with "more than 450 horsepower," along with a newly calibrated eight-speed automatic gearbox.
Interestingly, Lexus has tuned the RC F's engine to run on an Atkinson cycle under most circumstances, while it switches to the more typical Otto cycle when more power is required, presumably using some sort of advanced variable valve timing technology. Helping put that power to the ground with all those ponies wreaking havoc underhood is a torque vectoring differential, a first from Lexus.
Also involved in keeping the RC F planted is an aero package that includes wings and ducts galore. The headline bit is an active rear wing that deploys at 50 miles per hour and retracts back into the deck when the car drops back to 25 mph. A clear-coated carbon fiber roof can optionally join that carbon rear wing. There are apparently going to be three 19-inch wheel options, including the ones you see in our live image gallery above.
