Lexus recalling 3,000 NX 200t CUVs for faulty brake system part

Lexus is recalling about 3,000 examples of the 2015 NX 200t in the US because of possible damage to the ABS actuator during assembly. On vehicles with the faulty part, the anti-lock brakes, traction control and stability control might not function properly. If the ABS is activated while driving, it could cause "a loss of vehicle stability," according to the company. No crashes, injuries, or fatalities have been reported. According to company spokesperson Cindy Knight to Autoblog, affected owners will receive notification by mail of this problem in early July. Dealers will inspect the actuator on the NX200t and will replace it, if necessary. The involved vehicles are equipped with an Anti-Lock Braking system (ABS), Traction Control System (TRAC), and Vehicle Stability Control System (VSC) which are controlled by the ABS actuator. There is a possibility that a component inside the actuator could be damaged during assembly and later not operate properly. Under some driving conditions, if the ABS is activated, this could cause a loss of vehicle stability, which can increase the risk of a crash. To date, Toyota is not aware of any crashes, injuries or fatalities caused by this condition. All known owners of the involved Lexus vehicles will be notified by first class mail. Lexus dealers will inspect the ABS actuator and if necessary replace it with a new one. Information about automotive recalls, including but not limited to the list of involved vehicles, is subject to change over time. Is 'UX300e' trademark a sign of an electric Lexus to come?

That the biggest mainstream auto manufacturers will offer fully electric vehicles is no longer a question of if, it's an inevitable matter of when. Lexus has thus far taken the wait-and-see approach to the burgeoning market that is expected to take over throughout the next decade, but that could change soon. A recent trademark filing could indicate that Lexus is ready to introduce a fully electric version of its new UX crossover. Dug up by Autoguide, the trademark "UX300e" recently popped up on the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO). A separate look on TMView shows it is indeed linked to Lexus and was filed at the Norway office. The Lexus UX is just getting off the ground in December but is expected to be a huge seller for Toyota's luxury branch. The UX 200, which is offered with a naturally aspirated four-cylinder engine, is now Lexus' cheapest vehicle. The UX 250h offers a hybrid variant and is available with all-wheel drive. F Sport packages are available on both variants, in an attempt to add an extroverted sense of excitement. Although the trademark is far from a guarantee that such a car is coming, it all makes sense. Crossovers are booming business as of late, and many manufacturers, such as Kia with the Niro and Soul, are offering electric versions of cars that also have other traditional forms of motivation. Lexus LF-SA Concept leaks its mini self ahead of Geneva

What you see here is the Lexus LF-SA Concept, which is speeding toward a date next week with the Geneva Motor Show. We don't yet have any official details, but Lexus is apparently saying the LF-SA was "conceived as a luxurious, driver-focused vehicle, designed to address a future world that is more influenced by technology and virtual experiences," and that it "[reflects] Lexus' vision that real experience will remain ultimate luxury." We don't know how far into the future Lexus is looking with its LF-SA Concept, but it looks very small, with just two doors, meaning it's likely even more diminutive and less spacious than the entry-level luxury Buick Encore.
